Apparently not…read more After patiently waiting in line, I confidently ordered a chicken wrap... only to be told, "That's not on the menu." Pause. Confusion. Mild heartbreak. BUT then--plot twist. He leans in and says, "I can put one together for you... just trust me." And listen... that was the moment I decided to surrender control and embark on a culinary adventure. As he started listing what he had in mind, my skepticism quickly turned into straight-up anticipation. It already sounded incredible--but I HAD to chime in and add tomatoes and banana peppers (because balance, obviously). What I received for $13 was not just a wrap. It was a masterpiece. This thing was PACKED--like, no-such-thing-as-skimping levels of juicy, flavorful chicken. Every bite hit. Every ingredient showed up. No fillers, no regrets. Here's the real kicker: I ate half yesterday... and the other half today? Still. Fresh. Still. Delicious. Still. Worth it. Moral of the story: Sometimes the best thing on the menu... isn't on the menu. Big Belly Deli, I see you. And next time, I'm coming back ready to co-create another masterpiece

The portion size was good. It came loaded with meats. Had to be 2 inches at least. I honestly wasn't a fan of the aioli and really wasn't a fan of the bun. I got it to go so it wasn't warm, but after 20 min the bun had the consistency of a red lobster biscuit. The bread was my least favorite part, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. Although I'll go in person rather than take out.

But going in, they were packed! Tip to tail, it was just people trying to get their food. And, that was us waiting a while to come in to pick up our goods. So, absolutely order ahead because it will make it somewhat easier. We ordered: The JD Cold Shoulder - cold cuts on a garlic roll with chipotle ranch. My husband loved his, and glad he ordered it with the garlic roll. Joe's Spicy Italian - this was spicy and sweet, and it really hits when you love a good spicy italian sandwich. You can choose your bread, and I opted for mine to be on a French roll. Great sandwiches, long wait, but just really good and worth the wait!

I ended up stopping at Helfer's when I saw it and choosing 3 very large cupcakes. They put them in a nice box. Two were white cake with beautiful white icing and one was Strawberry Shortcake with pink cake and crunchies on top like the Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar. All three looked beautiful and there is someone here who is very talented at piping the buttercream. The top of the strawberry shortcake cupcake was delicious but I didn't care for the pink cake. I found it dry and artificial. The white cupcakes looked much better than they tasted. Again, the cake was dry. These were certainly cake mixes and I just had slightly higher expectations considering it's a place that has been around for several generations.

Six-Plus Stars for Helfer's Bakery -- Five Just Aren't Enough!…read moreHelfer's Bakery was phenomenal from beginning to end! They were incredibly easy to work with, and our baker, Jamie, was wonderful. She listened to what we envisioned for our daughter's wedding and helped create a wedding cake that exceeded every expectation. That was so important to us since the bride and groom were not in town. And the cake itself? Absolutely delicious! Our guests at the wedding are still raving about it. It was moist, flavorful, and some of the best wedding cake anyone has ever tasted. Each layer was a different flavor--from traditional to chocolate, and every single one was a hit. The design was an absolute masterpiece - elegant, beautiful, and truly a work of art. Helfer's also made the wedding day so easy for us. They delivered the cake to Innsbrook, Missouri, set everything up beautifully, and coordinated with the florist to ensure the florals were perfectly placed. That attention to detail meant so much to us. I cannot recommend Helfer's Bakery highly enough for a wedding cake or any special occasion. Beautiful, delicious, professional, and exceptional service from start to finish. Six-plus stars because five simply aren't enough!

I had to call the 800 number to place the order, but it was surprisingly easy to get through to someone and get everything set up. We were tax-exempt, and that process was also very simple. I just had to send an email with the information, they sent us an invoice, and then we called to make the payment. Easy peasy! We requested delivery for 10:45 a.m. and they were about five minutes late, which was enough of a delay that I went ahead and called to check on the order. Thankfully, the driver arrived shortly afterward. The delivery itself was a little chaotic, though. The driver was in a personal vehicle, and when she opened the trunk, a few of the lunch bags fell onto the ground. We had several people arriving at the same time, so we all grabbed a bag and helped get everything inside. I will say that the bags did smell a little bit like smoke, which wasn't ideal, but thankfully the food itself was fine. The lunches were delicious! We ordered club sandwiches with chips, a cookie, and of course, a pickle. I also really appreciated that the vegetarian and gluten-free meals were clearly marked, which made it very easy to get the right meals to the right people without having to open everything up and figure it out. Aside from the slightly late delivery and the delivery mishap, everything went smoothly. The ordering and payment process was easy, the food was tasty, and the special dietary meals were clearly labeled. We would definitely use McAlister's catering again for another luncheon. Hopefully next time the delivery is a little less eventful!
