a sandwich with meat and vegetables

if you're looking for portion sizes this is not the place to go. It's like eating bread with a tiny little bit of meat. I went three bites before I hit any meat. Absolutely horrible place to go if you're looking for something substantial to eat. This was basically like eating bread with mayonnaise. John's has one job to do and that's make a sandwich so please make a damn sandwich, you can't sacrifice meat in a sandwich shop. Unbelievable the condiments on top were nonexistent. Not going back, it's just a waste of money! Disappointing.

This has to be the best jimmy johns with the best customer service!!!! Mike, Mike & Riley were amazing. Went over and beyond to make me and my kids happy. I can't say enough about how they did whatever I needed to make my kids happy. Such a pleasant surprise. So happy to know this is the location that's closest to home to us. My daughter has a super loose tooth and they went so far to cut her sandwich up so it's easier for her to eat it as you can see in the pic. She ate most of it so that's why the oic only has 3 little slices left.

long black hair in the beach club

HAIR IN FOOD & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Stopped here on the way back to Chicago. They made a mistake with the order, but we had taken it to go and figured it wasn't that big of a deal. Until we found a huge disgusting black hair in the sandwich!! We called the store back and calmly explained what happened, employee Joseph was a complete jerk! He refused to refund the item after asking me to provide a receipt number, he said I would need to "drive back Because I was trying to get free sandwiches and rip them off. "I explained that we were on the road and wouldn't be able to come back and he said he refused to refund it and that there was no supervisor able to help us. Joseph was so unprofessional and rude and the whole situation was just gross.

Prices have gone through the roof and the portions have gotten smaller. We are done with this chain.

I chose the "spuds" (twice baked potatoes), and southwest chicken & avocado salad. -The salad was not great--avocado was a bit mushy, the chile lime vinaigrette wasn't the best either. -The spuds were not what I normally think of as twice baked potatoes. The inside was more like mashed potatoes with gravy. I would not order this again. -It's a shame because the service was really good and friendly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend.

The turnaround from order to table was pretty quick...and we found out why. The one positive thing about their Rueben is that it was LOADED with corned beef...albeit room temperature and even pockets that were cold. The bread was only toasted; the sandwich is typically grilled. There was hardly any sauerkraut and the 1000 Island dressing was weird (tasted like there was some horseradish in it?), This is near Gurnee Mills so there is a dearth of other, better fast food options. Would maybe go again and try a different menu item...but with so many other options, it would be a last option (aka- everyplace else is closed so not likely). Very disappointing.

Not that that really matters since you don't really go for ambiance or thrilling customer service. So you can pronounce some of the names of the meats in the service counter? TRY? It goes a long way. Just as it would be appreciated if you were traveling abroad. Take some time to read the bio of the founder online, an American dream come true for an immigrant. Amazing accomplishments! The store is bigger than it looks from the outside, and has a very good selection of Russian, Polish, and other Eastern European fresh and boxed groceries, as well as a wide choice of hearty breads. There's a hot food counter as well. I picked up some bresaola, a favorite of mine, it's air dried beef that can be eaten as a snack or as part of a sandwich. I've seen it across Switzerland, but it originated in the Northern Alps on Italy's border. It's salted before air drying for 2-3 months, when it turns almost purple you know it's ready. Usually made from top round, it's lean and tender. I also bought a salami I could not pronounce, so many choices. It is delicious, frim, dry, lean, very smoky. I see they offer droewors, another favorite of mine, a South African style of dried meat stick with interesting spices. Alef Sausage packaged products are widely available in grocery stores throughout Chicagoland and can be purchased online at their website.

Couple of things surprised me - I was surprised to see so many options at a bar and only 7 reviews on yelp. Highly underrated and under reviewed place. Food - I ate one of the best pizzas in town, the crust was phenomenal. The owner told me the frozen crust gets imported from ITALY. Boars Head meat . So you know it is good stuff. I didn't leave the crust at all finished entire pizza. the toppings were generously added. I will try their fresh cut sandwiches next time. Drinks - Loved my old fashioned and then owner came in and offered me McCallan 17 year to try since I never had one (he didn't even charge me for it). Ambiance - Had so many things to do. FREE POOL tables, electronic darts, slot machines and lot of board games. I did shoot some balls. And was brand new. The owner is planning to get pool league started next year. Will be working towards that next year. Specials - Every day they run specials and every day they have cheap beers too. Easily you could spend few hours keeping yourself entertained. I am half an hour car ride away, will surely visit again for fully loaded pepperoni pizza. See you soon owner. May be next time I play pool with you.
