I recently received a bill in July for coverage with them that I never authorized. They billed me for home insurance from March -May, when I called to contest it, they stated that I verbally agreed to start the policy, and they listened to recordings of my conversation to confirm it. When I asked for a copy of this phone conversation, coincidentally they can not provide that to me legally. I was also denied to speak to Matthew Mounce whom I requested to sort this matter out with. Over the course of 3 weeks they sent 3 billing statements to my home, each time threatening to report me to collections. My husband and I pay into an escrow account for our coverage, but this company is forcing us to pay an additional $300+ for coverage that I never authorized, and obviously never provided my escrow information to. I never received any type of paperwork regarding coverage that I "agreed" to, I never had any idea that we were receiving home insurance coverage from Allstate. They do not care about their customers and they do not care about hardworking families. I was forced to pay this bill out of fear that this company would RUIN my credit. Also, one of the "positive" reviews made on google was made by their employee, and I know this for a fact. This makes me wonder, how many of the other "positive" reviews are legit. Stay away from this office and their shady business practices!

Right after this I got a message saying my homeowners was going to be cancelled because there was some limbs touching my roof unless I got them trimmed (which I did); but before I could even take care of this (due to bad weather) they cancelled my home insurance and raised the rate on my auto policy. It took many phone calls to get this straightened out and I still got charged a higher rate on my auto for 2 months. Now, a few days ago, I received my 6 month renewal on my auto liability insurance and it increased by $120.00 per year. I would have understood a slight increase but this was a lot considering I have had no tickets, accidents or claims and drive very little (less than 100 miles per month). When I called to get an explanation for this I was told it was a state wide increase and that they would email me a list of things I could do to save a little. That has been 3 days ago and so far I have heard nothing from them (which doesn't surprise me considering how long it took them to get the first problem straightened out). So, all this being said, BUYER BEWARE! The rate they quote you will probably not be the rate you'll be paying when its time to renew. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with Allstate, the first being several years ago. Seems like this is a common practice for them.

I spent 3 hours trying to get some questions answered, to understand what I was being told, and to understand how I should move forward. So finally I called my agent's office, Scott Tabares. I should have done this earlier. Marla answered the called. Wow, what a change. She heard my explanation of what had happened. Then ask if she could step in and help. It was obvious she cared about me as a person and as a customer. After a few minutes, I would guess less than 20, she had cut through the 800 jungle, and she and I were working toward a solution. Instead, they copied our old coverage that did not have collision coverage. They failed to even notate properly of what I asked. I was involved in a hit and run March 2026 and am now paying for a totaled vehicle because of State Farm's failure.
