We found Luke's company on Yelp and were impressed with the positive reviews and the numerous examples of his superior customer service. Luke met us at the house in December of 2023 and we walked the property with a punchlist. He had the foresight to bring along his interior designer, Amy, who has proved to be amazing! He bid the project and reworked the scope in two weeks. The budget was approved and work began on February 14th. The project included carpet removal, new wood and tile flooring, rewiring of the entire 2800 sq foot basement, design-build basement kitchen-office and workout room, new master bathroom, three additional new bathrooms, new laundry room, addition of a pantry, etc. Needless to say the scope of this project would take most contractors over a year or longer to complete. Luke also managed lawn service, pool care, a mailbox replacement, furniture delivery, new garage door installation, foundation work and internet install. We spoke yesterday and he has scheduled the cleaning crew and a photographer. I will admit we are blown away and beyond impressed! 90 DAYS, ON TIME and ON BUDGET. We moved into our home about two years ago and were severely disappointed with the shoddy…read moreworkmanship of our brand-new house. Recently, we found Luke's Repairs and Remodeling to address the following issues: all interior and exterior doors were replaced and reframed, all pocket doors were replaced with new hardware which required removing and replacing the drywall. We also needed the entire house painted, a closest built around our mechanicals and additional shelving erected in the laundry area, as well as some electrical work. Luke came out, listened to everything we had to say and gave excellent input for the project. He gave us an estimate and stayed within the estimate for the entire job. Luke started on time, communicated throughout the entire timeline and ended on time. Luke, as well as his skilled carpenters, never minded being interrupted with questions and always took the time to communicate clearly. The project took approximately two weeks to complete. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Luke's warehouse to choose the items we needed for the repair and remodeling. Luke also did all the ordering, pick up and checked the materials that were delivered. We never had to bother with any items that were needed for our home. When I asked for his credentials, Luke did not hesitate to provide me a copy of his Kentucky contractor's license and his insurance. We noticed the way Luke was with the men he worked with. They had immense respect for each other. We are confident that the crew will stay with Luke. Finding a quality business to do home repair and remodeling is very difficult. Luke's Repair and Remodeling is a stellar company. My wife said, "Luke and his carpenters have made me fall in love with my home again". I began my flooring project last year. The initial salesperson was personable and spent nearly an…read morehour reviewing details. But once the project began, a different project manager took over and it was clear none of those details were passed along. This led to a series of mistakes, including laying the flooring down in the wrong orientation. When I brought this up, the PM argued with me and let the crew continue. By the time the owner and original salesperson confirmed I was right, the flooring was fully installed- incorrectly. They agreed to redo it, first promising new material, then backing out and deciding to just cut the nailed ends of the already-used boards instead. This shortened every oak board I paid for due to their mistake. The rest of the project continued with late arrivals and poor communication. The PM even used the language barrier he had with his crew as an excuse- which is unacceptable and embarrassing in the day of readily available translation apps. Nearly a year later, I had boards buckling and I called them back for a warranty visit. A new employee was again personable and validated that the original work was not up to standards. We had pencil marks sealed under poly, unfilled nail holes, visible ink stamps from the original wood supplier, etc. They agreed to fix it, but once again the PM miscommunicated the process & timing. The timeline he provided was inaccurate, and the crew applied new poly much sooner than stated. Normally quicker-than-expected work would be welcomed, but in this case, it gave me no chance to review their fixes. By the time the poly coats dried, and I could walk on the floors, I noticed more issues, including sealed-over wood-filler fingerprint smudges and a visible thick line of poly drips. They returned, again, to fix these new mistakes and move furniture back. Although the PM had informed us we needed to wait at least 10 days before putting rugs back down, the crew put the rugs in place- another communication failure. He sent the crew back to the house to remove the rugs, and somehow, they rotated the furniture 90 degrees but failed to remove the rugs which was the point of their return. Reaching my limits with patience, I told the PM to not bother sending anyone back out, that we would move the furniture and rugs ourselves. He responded later to tell me he fired his crew, which was completely inappropriate and unnecessary to share. At the end of the day, this is a management failure. Poor workmanship is the result of poor training, oversight, and communication. I would never hire Footprints again. While they attempted to fix their mistakes under warranty, the disruption, broken promises, and half-fixes left me just as disappointed as I was after the original installation.

My experience with Footprint Flooring has been extremely disappointing from start to finish…read more Customer service was poor, communication was inconsistent, and there was no sincere effort to correct mistakes that were clearly made by their team. The only reason I chose this company was because they agreed per our discussions and understanding of the contract, to store my furniture during the job. Despite this, Footprint Flooring rescheduled my project twice, pushing me further out of pocket and disrupting my household. Just days before the rescheduled start date, we reviewed the plan again, which included a storage pod. However, on the very day work was supposed to begin, I was informed that the pod had never been ordered and that I would need to pay an additional $600 to secure one. I immediately explained this was their error and that storage was part of what I agreed to when signing the contract. Unfortunately, neither the owner nor the site manager took responsibility for their representative's mistake. Instead, I was told the extra cost was my problem. As a result, my family and I were left scrambling at the last minute to figure out what to do with all of our furniture. After multiple delays and a significant error on their part, the only resolution offered was an apology and 5% off the bill. The owner emphasized that he was "only profiting $360" and still had to pay his crew--despite the fact that we paid $3,900 for the job (carpet removal, sanding, and staining) and were even charged $300 just to remove garbage. Once the job was complete, no top coat gloss was applied. My furniture was not returned to how it was before they started and they did not clean up after themselves. I had to sweep nails, dirt, staples to avoid injury. There was little empathy, accountability, or professionalism shown throughout this process. Only defensiveness and concern for their bottom line. This was an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value clear communication, accountability, and basic customer care.

From the jump it was clear she had no interest in helping me. Was it because I was dressed in jeans and a t shirt? Was it because i needed such a small piece? I will never know. She kind of waved her hand around the area and when I would ask questions she would visibly sigh and answer me in a very condescending tone. Then when it seemed like she started understanding what style of stone I was looking for she pivoted and started telling me I could only buy a slab. I need like 6 square feet? A full slab costs thousands of dollars and is huge (like 60sqft) why would I buy that? Anyway she quoted some ridiculous price which I felt was either to get rid of me or to make extra $$. I have since found a company that was extremely helpful, efficient and great to work with, and I got a deal on a remnant piece like I wanted. I wont be back to Stonemark for any future projects I may have.
