It may be true that everyone carries similar carpet but their selection, communication, and steps to ensure a quality installation are unmatched. They were able to help us select the right carpet and then did an onsite visit to measure and discuss seam placement. Once the carpet was received they did an onsite inspection, made the cuts for the seams and then sent an entire crew of very professional (and friendly) installers to complete the work. The previous company failed to inspect the carpet for manufacturing flaws and then took 2 weeks to install the carpet. Once installed we were not happy with the installation. We had to make multiple complaints to get the project manager engaged, then more time getting the carpet manufacturer engaged. In the end it all had to be pulled out. I am so thankful that we opted to switch to Carpet Mart and will use them for all of our flooring needs in the future. When comparing estimates on carpet you need to look past just the price of carpet and padding but ask a lot of questions about installation. These include seam placement, do they inspect / cut the carpet prior to home delivery, and how many full time installers do they employ. Recently, we found Luke's Repairs and Remodeling to address the following issues: all interior and exterior doors were replaced and reframed, all pocket doors were replaced with new hardware which required removing and replacing the drywall. We also needed the entire house painted, a closest built around our mechanicals and additional shelving erected in the laundry area, as well as some electrical work. Luke came out, listened to everything we had to say and gave excellent input for the project. He gave us an estimate and stayed within the estimate for the entire job. Luke started on time, communicated throughout the entire timeline and ended on time. Luke, as well as his skilled carpenters, never minded being interrupted with questions and always took the time to communicate clearly. The project took approximately two weeks to complete. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Luke's warehouse to choose the items we needed for the repair and remodeling. Luke also did all the ordering, pick up and checked the materials that were delivered. We never had to bother with any items that were needed for our home. When I asked for his credentials, Luke did not hesitate to provide me a copy of his Kentucky contractor's license and his insurance. We noticed the way Luke was with the men he worked with. The walls are full of ideas, manufacturers, styles and colors. I felt creative and inspired right away. A gentleman working outside of the showroom recommended we sign in to reserve a space in line (if we wanted to speak with a design consultant). We didn't at first but after seeing so many options and narrowing down a few choices, we put our names down. The wait gave us plenty of time to continue walking the showroom and finding more things we liked. A design consultant took information down about our choices, to confirm tile sizes available and if we could get a quick turnaround on delivery. She also asked about our kitchen space (cabinets, flooring, etc.) after hearing we were interested in a color. As a general rule kitchen backsplashes are often neutral, which I appreciate, but my kitchen is vomiting neutral and I need a pop of color. It was worth every penny to remove the beige/brownish tile we inherited from the previous owners. We were able to check out a panel to take home and liked it immediately. (My husband moved it every couple of hours to a new spot in the kitchen!) Ordering is more permanent here -- no returns, so make sure you like what you get and don't over order the supply. Freight is also charged which is not what we experienced elsewhere. Grout options and silicone were also available for order, which we added to the order. Tile arrived as promised and we paid at pick-up. Excited to complete our backsplash! Mees Tile will certainly be at the top of our list for future tile and flooring purchases.
