My experience with JIG Reel Studios became much bigger than just getting footage for my acting reel. One of the biggest things Justin teaches is that acting is not only an art -- it's a business. He pushed me to think beyond simply auditioning and hoping someone gives me an opportunity. I learned how to approach my materials, representation, networking, and career with much more intention. And the results speak for themselves: during my mentorship, I started seriously submitting for representation, took meetings, and I GOT SIGNED! That was a huge milestone for me and something I'm extremely proud of. I also took another major step in my career by producing and acting in my own short film. Justin constantly encouraged me to stop waiting for permission and start creating my own opportunities, and that mindset completely changed the way I approach this industry. If you're willing to put in the work, ask questions, and actually apply what you're learning, there is so much you can take away from JIG. I came in wanting a stronger reel and walked away with a better understanding of the business, my own short film, representation, and a completely different mindset about my career. I'm incredibly grateful for Justin, the mentorship, and the growth that came from my time at JIG Reel Studios. Thank You! MW read more

My experience at JIG Reel Studios was a 10/10! The crew was so professional and fun to work with! Newton, our director, is so talented and brought an energy that made everyone on set feel comfortable and excited to work! You can tell he's an actor as well because he really took the time to discuss our characters and the scene with us before we filmed so we could make strong choices and breathe so much life into our short scene. The set, lights, sound, and camera was of the highest quality. Everyone on set was very talented and the team worked really well together! Thank you to Newton, Kenzo, Shaina, Carter, Veronica, and Justin! Definitely recommend JIG to all actors who are looking for professionally filmed clips for their demo reels! read more

I recommend Jig Reels wholeheartedly for the price and product you get, it's quite priceless! I reached out a year prior to actually getting scenes done, and was met with hospitality and a collaborative spirit by Justin! We worked out my vision and had the script written fast, but it was quality! Then the shoot day came and I had the luxury of Newton Mayenge directing my scene, let me tell you... this made the experience painless and felt like being on any tv set! He brought his vision and talent as an actor into the creation of the scene! He's a great actor who wants to see you win! That's rare in this town at a certain level! In conclusion my scene came out tv quality and better than I could've expected! For seasoned and new actors alike, save you some time and book with Jig Reels! it'll help you stand out and show how professional you truly are! Can't say enough!! Take the dive read more

Couldn't be happier with the service I received - very easy and professional from start to finish. The initial phone call, selecting a date, speaking to the script writer to discuss what my needs were and then the conversations in between until filming day. Having a professional set, a director, a DP, another actor, a sound person, having the video edited - Worth every single penny. The finished product is exact what I was looking for. read more

JIG Reel Studios is second to none. From the screen writers to the directors and the casting, it really was a great investment for me. I would recommend this for anyone new to the Hollywood scene looking to find an edge. I already am getting responses from adding my reel to my acting profiles online. In fact I'm starting his mentoring program too this coming weekend. Looking forward to growing and learning with Justin and his staff! read more

We used Jig Reel Studios to get my daughter some quality footage for her acting sites. Justin is very responsive to queries, the writers are friendly and open to collaborative conversations, and the crew is professional and encouraging. They know what they're doing, they know how to put performers at ease, and there's no question we'd use their services again. In fact, we plan to. Thanks Justin and Jig Reel Studios! You made the whole experience very fun and we look forward to visiting again. read more

The team at JIG reel productions is full of incredible and hard working passionate creatives that are a pleasure to work with and have truly provided me with invaluable content for my acting portfolio that has served as a catalyst for my acting career. I began acting about 3 months ago but was immediately signed and with a sparse resume I really needed something to quickly show that I take my decision for a career transition from healthcare very seriously. It was inspiring to work alongside a talented and friendly bunch that was putting their 100% in for a product that truly delivers. The prices are extremely competitive, the turnaround is fast and reliable. My advice to others would be to honor the effort the team is putting in for you by showing up as prepared as possible - as an actor should. Memorize your lines and do the work. Aside from applying myself to my self-tape auditions, I truly believe the services from JIG Reel Productions helped confirmed casting directors' decisions in booking me for a role despite my lack of experience in the industry, and I am excited to perform for a lead role in my first feature film being shot in Mexico this early on in my career - I am immensely grateful for the team at JIG Reel because I do not believe I would be here without their services. Thank you everyone at the studio and I look forward to being back and creating more art. :) read more

I want to say that JIG Reels is a gem of a studio here in Los Angeles! This is a studio community that cares about its actors advancing their careers to the highest level. Since February 2025 until now October 2025 I have been going to the scene study class religiously taught by the #1 acting teacher, director, and producer Newton Mayenge here in Los Angeles. Newton not only teaches scene study but he also teaches the business of acting that many actors do not seem to take into account. Also with Newton's help I have gotten 2 agent representations being accepted within a one week period. Newton certainly knows his stuff in and out I would strongly recommend him to anyone interested in learning quality acting that will help you get to the highest level. Also, his technique for memorizing lines is out of this world allowing me to learn lines in a 5 page scene no more than 2 days time. Also, Justin Galindo's blocking class is outstanding! JIG Reels is the only studio that I know that teaches how to block your position while on set in front of a camera. I am so thankful Justin has created this class because it has helped me to become an even better actor which also helps any director's job a lot easier with the ones I have worked with. When a director sees and knows that you know your positioning on set you are definitely marketable allowing them to use you again for future work. The scene study class taught by Newton and the blocking class taught by Justin is 100% valuable and an absolute must for an actor to have under their belt! I would recommend JIG Reel Studios to all of my actor friends in the industry here in Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, and Chicago at any time!! Thank you JIG Reels for all you have done for me!! For the ones that know me I am a person of my word when I write these reviews and I do not sugar coat anything! Also if you need demo reels this definitely the place to get them done because they treat these reels like a film being shown on the movie screen. read more

Overview: no product delivered, took them 2 weeks to discover our footage was "corrupt," no one accepted accountability, and we got no break on the price for our troubles. We took a refund and ran. In-Depth: My scene partner and I both traveled to JIG Reel from out of town - me from out-of-state, and my partner from out-of-county. We also brought in our own director and acting coach. It was a big deal for us, and they knew it. Shooting went fine, aside from annoying attempts at upsells. We saw playback of footage and paid before we left. 2 full weeks after the shoot, Justin contacted me to let me know that ALL our footage was "corrupted." Justin did apologize, but also claimed that "it's part of just cameras/filming," and said it was "not something we did or anyone did." Since we saw playback before we left, I call BS. And even if the files were corrupt, JIG Reel waited 2 weeks to figure that out? If they had checked the footage in a timely fashion, we would have easily been able to reshoot before we left town. As a solution, JIG Reel offered to reshoot with a camera upgrade that we didn't want or need. Ok. We were open to working something out, but we asked for a break on the price for the vast inconvenience and extra expenses JIG Reel's mistakes caused. JIG Reel refused. Due to JIG Reel's refusal to take accountability for the mistake, we did not feel comfortable risking the expenses of trying to reshoot with JIG Reel. If the same error happened again, it was clear that nothing would be done to compensate us (and no, redoing a shoot months late, at our own expense, at full price, and with no adjustment for your mistake is NOT compensation for such a neglectful error). We were met with a condescending tone and superior attitude throughout this attempt at negotiation. PS: Ironically, I was planning to let sleeping dogs lie but, after JIG Reel decided to call and text me to SCOLD me about a review I didn't even know existed until he mentioned it, I can't keep silent any longer. You wasted more than one person's time and money with your negligence, JIG Reel. I'm not surprised that more than one of us feels negatively about it. read more

Worth every penny! As soon as I reached out Justin was very attentive & thorough with all my questions. My goal was to get signed by a theatrical agency & I just got signed!!! I definitely recommend them to actors who haven't had the chance to showcase their range & want to have full control on how to do so. read more

booked from out of town-I'm from Denver-and they explained the process to me very thoroughly. The director Chris was very nice, and gave great direction. I was made to be very comfortable with professionalism and kindness the entire time. When I got into acting I wasn't sure where to start. I just knew I needed the basics (headshots and demo reel). Luckily, I found Justin and JIG Reel Studios! I spoke with Justin and decided to go with his mentoring program and I'm glad I did! JIG created extremely high quality footage for me that I will be able to use for years. Beyond that, I just can't say enough about their level of professionalism. I found JIG through a little research after a bad experience with a different company, and I was nervous about the possibility of being burned again. But from my very first conversation with Justin at JIG, I knew I didn't have to worry anymore. They communicated clearly with me about every detail throughout the process. I had a wonderful conversation with the screenwriter, and she wrote two wonderful scripts that perfectly aligned with what I told her I wanted. From there, I had plenty of time to prepare for the shoot. When I arrived on set, everyone was ready to go, and the crew explained to me exactly what to expect for the day. They also showed me a couple of different camera options (with examples of what footage looks like on each), and they gave me a choice. In fact, I had choices about every detail from beginning to end. The actors who were cast in my scenes with me were skilled and talented, but they were careful not to overpower the scenes which I appreciated. The director had helpful notes but never pushed. The crew was steady and patient. When I left, I felt very comfortable knowing what I would receive. And the pricing is transparent-- you don't need to worry about any surprises on your bill. When I received the completed reel footage, I was blown away by the quality. It is top-notch, cinematic material. I'm a bit of a pedant so I asked Justin for a couple of small edits, and he was quick and kind to provide them. I am feeling so happy and confident about what I received, and I can't wait to show it off. read more

Love working with JIG. They're efficient and very collaborative. Scenes I've done with them have definitely improved my audition rate, and have helped me land representation. I had an amazing experience working with JIG Reel Studios. I had a project to shoot as a proof of concept; my brother put me on to Justin and his team because he used them for his reel. I cannot say enough about Jig Reels. Justin and the team are amazing. After taking a hiatus from acting, I felt I needed some new footage. I scheduled to shoot 4 scenes. Then I heard about the mentoring program. AMAZING!!!! It was so much I thought I knew but didn't. This class really prepared me. In addition it is a very motivating class and will light the fire under you. He helps you prepare your submission packet and gives you all the extra little secrets that will help your packet stand out. I also took the Blocking class which was helpful for being on set and understanding things from a production point of view. After the mentoring class and shooting of the reel footage... I am happy to say I got meetings and now have commercial representation. If you're wondering whether it's worth the money... IT IS!!! read more

I cannot stress the importance of having GOOD QUALITY footage for your demo reel. Getting that footage from indie projects and student films is almost impossible. Do yourself a favor and shoot some scenes with Jig Reel. It is worth every penny. Justin and the JIG team are amazing. I came here first to shoot my reels, and everyone was so nice, professional, and made me (a new actor) feel very comfortable. Okay, the quality of my reels were perfection! I never thought I could look that good haha. Also, they are great with communication here! A couple months later, I attended Justin's blocking class, and I'm sooooooooo thankful I did. Before taking it, I was just focused on improving my acting (acting classes, acting coaching, etc...) But after taking it, I realized my job was more than that. Justin taught us how to act specifically with camera, being conscious of our framing, hitting marks, continuity, and much more. All of these things are important to know when on set. Not understanding blocking can hinder, if not cost your success as an actor. Soooo I highly recommend!!! Oh, and Justin makes it pretty darn fun lol TAKE THIS CLASS. read more

Original post: Shot w them in 2019. Footage received was badly lit, both scenes. Every rep and director who looks at it comments on how bad it is. On set, it was very frat boy atmosphere, I was ignored and turned down for every concern (weird camera angles, bad lighting), and now I have paid a lot for what everyone says, is not good footage. In editing, all my favorite takes were unusable due to the boom mic hitting a wall or camera going out of focus- just very unprofessional. 1 star for the editor, he did the best he could with the footage and was competent, it's not his fault. Update: I am a real person not affiliated w another company. Your volatile reaction doesn't prove that you handle customer concerns professionally. As actors, we want to feel heard and safe with a pricey investment. Boom mic hitting walls in the middle of whole lines meant the audio was unusuable on several takes. I don't know how much more I can do besides repeatedly say how disappointed I am to the editor, they also said yeah sorry we can't use your preferred takes... really there's just 1 wide and 1 CU to choose from. That's unacceptable for the cost. And initially I even pointed out the issues ON set and was dismissed. Your company representatives did not provide excellent work or problem solving, so maybe take the issue up with them instead of lambasting me. read more

I couldn't have found a better place to shoot my reels! From the director to the boom operator, everybody was incredibly professional, amazing, and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better team! I requested makeup from Kim Distel, and she was AWESOME! I had two reels created, and the edited and completed product was absolutely fantastic! The work that they created for me definitely gave my portfolio a boost! To top it off, this place feels like family! I HIGHLY recommend JIG Reel for your acting reels! read more

Did my research and picked Jig to help me with my reels. After taking a long long hiatus, I needed some fresh content and I'm glad I chose them. I have used multiple services from this company and have ZERO complaints. I used them to create a demo reel which would be one piece of the puzzle I needed to get representation. I did the 3 scene package and was more than satisfied. I then used their reel editing service to edit my three scenes down to one Acting Reel. I also did the mentor program which got me 8 offers for commercial representation. I plan on going back for their blocking class in the near future. If you are an actor trying to figure out how to get your foot in the door at any stage of your early career this is the place to go. Skepticism is how I approached JigReel. We've all heard the "trends" in Hollywood: Actors need to form a reel from "legit" projects ranging from student films to feature films. Anything less and it appears contrived or staged. Let me tell you about this myth: it doesn't exist. You have basically two options as an actor: 1. Submit yourself endlessly to student and feature films and pray they use good cameras, lighting equipments, sound equipments, and crews. Pros: It's free and you may also get paid! If you are fortunate to book a project with a very SERIOUS producer at your level, it could turn into great reel opportunities. Cons: As a new actor, your chances of landing a paying gig that uses outstanding equipment are very slim. Most casting offices cast based on reels. Student films are just that, produced by students with home equipment so the sound, video, and directing quality are often lacking. You also run the risk of the project completely falling through and all of your work going in the trash. This happened to me countless times. I went out, booked feature films, had the project fall through, and lost all footage that were promised to me. OR 2. Hire a professional company to come in and write, direct, light, and sound design FOR you. Pros: highly specific scenes that cater to your strengths. Proper lighting to showcase your features and expressive face. Correct use of makeup to make you appear natural without seeming desperate. Cons: Costs a pretty penny. So which would you choose? Spend a year submitting to projects in the hopes that they use 4K cameras so that if you do, by some Meryl Streep miracle, finish the project, the quality would at least be good enough to submit to agents? Or take a chance, spend some money, and shoot a scene that is on par with working professionals? And did I mention they provide IMDB credit? And we know how agents are: "The sound quality impeded on your performance" "The discoloration impeded on your performance" "Your disheveled hair impeded--" you get my point. Not only does your reel showcase your talent, it shows the Casting Directors how you will appear on camera. I took a chance and my reel landed me across the board representation at my agency. Fancy that! read more
