As it was Sunday, they were closed. I filled out my appointment request online & dropped my key fob in their drop box. At precisely 7 am, Andrew phoned me to let me know that they had my car in the shop & they would replace the tire today! Andrew was very polite & professional. I will forever use Firestone N. Gloster for all of my tire needs! A big thank you to Andrew & the crew at Firestone!

I used my Firestone account with my saved vehicle, to select tires and received a full "out-the-door" quote, including installation, taxes, and ALL fees, installed at my local shop. I reserved the tires, price and appointment, as directly offered. After booking, the store called and advised the price would be approximately $200 higher (roughly 20%) than the quoted out-the-door total; otherwise I would receive no warranty, etc.; despite the tires advertised with a 70K manufacturer limited warranty, and a 90-day limited satisfaction guarantee. I mentioned that I had reserved the tires at the locked price online, and was told that the prices online did not reflect the actual price at the location. I canceled the appointment, and the order. I contacted customer service, first via the online chat, which they push you to, to clarify if I had perhaps missed something; but the chat was not helpful, or intuitive. I then called the corporate 1-800 number to ask about the quoted out-the-door pricing online, versus a location not honoring the price. Long story short, while they were very polite (at every step) I was informed that I could not count on any location to honor the advertised Firestone pricing, and I'd be advised to contact local stores only from this point forward. It would be easy to try and point the finger at a single party, but I don't think that's fair. I think this demonstrated a serious systemic problem from the local level all the way to the corporate office(s).

I've used the Gloster Street location three (3) or four (4) times in the past year, for two (2)…read morevehicles. Each time has been a prompt and overall pleasant experience. At this point, that's what I'm really paying for; the convenience of staying in my vehicle, and being in/out in under 1/2 hour. And, doing so at a business that you can trust, actually performed the maintenance you paid for. That said, it's certainly not inexpensive, comparatively. In my experience it's cheaper, even at the dealership. However, that comes with appointment(s), sitting in the lobby, and dealing with pushy service advisors, who make the bulk of their paycheck, off of upselling the client(s) for services they often don't want or need. In my most recent experience, the tech assisting me at Express, did seem to be a bit confused, that when he asked me to crank my car, and the engine didn't come on (it's a hybrid) ... whereas the previous tech knew he had to have me throttle the engine to override the battery, and make it crank for verification purposes. To be fair, that's not a huge deal, as for all I know, the tech could have been new. The billing has also been slightly inconsistent with military or return customer discounting one (1) time, but not another; although I appreciate the itemized printout, including part numbers for things like the oil filter. All that said, I must again lean on the convenience, location, and general pleasantness of the employees. And, I've never once had a tech try and sell me something I didn't need. As it stands, I'll be a return customer.
