I do not recommend this location. I brought a company fleet vehicle in, a ford Maverick. Less than a minute later the mechanic comes into the lobby to inform me that they do not have the filter they need for the car and suggested I go to another Jiffy Lube location. There the mechanic informs me that these filters are in fact entirely common, that location had 25 in stock. Seems as though the mechanic at this location despite having one one of two stalls filled decided that changing the oil of this truck was not worth their time. If you want a quality service or any service at all for that matter do not go here. read more

First off, not only did they break the dipstick off, but they tried to LIE and blame it on the place previous! Which was just before a drive across America, and in that drive across America, the oil was checked with the dipstick still intact. Second, they poured oil all down the engine!! Assuming trying to get the motor oil into the car, after breaking the stick off and lying about it So now as the boyfriend is using every tool he has to get the dipstick unstuck, the driveway is getting dripped on by motor oil. read more

I have severe OCD and am very particular about the specifics of my vehicle. They moved my seat and mirrors just to pull the car up 20 feet. I am 5'8 and drive very far back for my height. I have had individuals ranging from 5'6-6'0 drive my car without having to move anything and no one working was above or below that height range. Staff were rude to multiple customers regarding coupons, myself included. Made for an uncomfortable experience overall, especially when spending $140 I expect bare minimum customer service. This is by far my favorite Jiffy Lube. I've tried other locations and they don't come close to the level of customer service I receive at the Hawthorne location. I was there last Friday for an oil change and it took almost no time at all. Daniel played 'valet' and guided me to the waiting area complete with coffee, WiFi, and a muted TV (not playing any news, thank goodness). Then Bradley came in and helped me prioritize the repairs to match my budget. If all I want is an oil change and repair diagnostic, I have dozens of options. But if I want all that *plus* great service and consideration, then my option is really only the Hawthorne shop. read more

Dishonest as hell. 2nd time I went with a coupon that had their exact address written on it and the manager refused to honor them saying he can't access those codes in his system. There were other codes he could have used to sub that discount (15% off service, $18 off oil change, etc) but he shrugged and said he couldn't do it - even as I stare at "manager's discount" option on his screen. After making a fuss I got a lower discount than advertised coupon, about $20 less. This has happened twice now where I walked out unhappy and thinking I've been taken advantage of - not a great feeling after spending $400-500 each time. I guess Valvoline down the street is the honest option. All I ask is for a business to honor their offers. Review only for the manager and not rest of the guys- they do good work and I'm sorry they aren't represented well. Lest business thinks I'm axing a grind - another time they patched up my tire free because I bought my tire there, when they easily could've charged me and I would've happily paid it. Came here today and that will be my last time. Arrived with low tire pressure (per my indicator light). Paid for a "signature service" oil change. Afterwards my low tire pressure light was still on. I asked the guy if they checked my tires...and he responded sarcastically that they yes, all tires have been inflated to the manufacture's recommendation, which he then looked at my paper and said 32 psi. He assured me that they had been properly inflated and told me the light would turn off in 15 minutes. 1 hour of driving later I get home to check my tire pressure, light still on, and 3 of my 4 tires are well below 32 psi. Two are at 27 psi and one at 29 psi. I called up the shop and they just told me to come on in and get them filled up... no apology for having to drive 30 minutes each way, just denial that they didn't lie to me about skipping my tires during the service. Spend your money elsewhere. There are much better shops out there for the same price that will provide a much higher quality of service. Also, expect a little grease on your steering wheel after (I had some today), half vacuumed floor mats, and a streaky exterior window cleaning. read more

I need to clear the air regarding my visit to this Jiffy Lube. I say "come to my attention" because prior to this visit, I had received no emails in nearly 20 years. This WAS in part because I was not subscribed to any. But after my recent visit, I received a solicitation and a survey email. Which was odd, because of the tech. Assured me I wouldn't get any emails. So, here we go. -1 star for subscribing me to emails. -1 star for what I will assume will be future postal solicitations. 1 star for being upfront on any issues 1 star for providing a quick turnaround 1 star for the quick cleaning of the interior and windows Overall thoughts. If I was in a pinch, I'd stop in and get my oil changed here and they even checked to see the results of the 'check engine' light. I really appreciate the Jiffy Lube associate who checked me in for a quick oil change before heading to work. It only to 23 minutes and he didn't push the tire rotation recommendation like other Jiffy Lubes in the Portland-Metro area. He spoke to me in a professional manner and not like some gullible female who didn't know anything about cars. Always had a good experience at this shop. They are good at what they do and they don't pressure you for things that aren't really needed. They have some good people who are knowledge there, so even for more complex issues with your vehicle they may be able to help. Make sure you look online for a coupon before you come. I asked how long they thought I could drive on them and was told that the pads were pretty much bare and I shouldn't wait. The tech started telling me about how much cheaper they'd be than the dealership is for the work, yadda yadda yadda, lucky for me I had a tire that I needed to have replaced at les schwab and so I left and brought my car there and asked them to do my breaks when they replaced my tire...well I just got the call from Les Schwab saying my breaks are in great shape and that I don't need any work on them for a long time. They got me in and performed the service while being extremely courteous and personable. They were both knowledgeable, but it was Devlin who stood out as a superior employee. Horrendous. I am shocked by just how awful and rude the service was at this jiffy lube location. Not only is it shockingly more expensive than other jiffy lubes, every person I interacted with, especially the person behind the counter, was completely was rude, unhelpful, uninterested, bossy, and tried to upsell ridiculous engine work, without actually addressing the issues I brought it in for. My Darling Husband and myself used to own an Acura. I went with my Husband a few times to the Jiffy Lube at the corner of Southeast César Chavez and Hawthorne Boulevard. Sometimes, the wait was 15 minutes. Sometimes the wait was 5 minutes. There were usually a few mechanics working on various cars prior to 2010. Sometimes before my Husband and I drove off after my Husband paid the Clerk... I was asked,... "Did we need anything else checked?" Before we moved into a different house, we would take the mailers (coupons) with us. And then one afternoon the Clerk asked me "Was I always so prepared?" I told him... yes, most of the time I was prepared. Apparently, he didn't know that people actually used the coupons that were mailed to their houses from Jiffy Lube. read more

Talk about awesome customer service! Jeremy, the manager (or owner), helped me out by installing my right front headlight - free of charge! I had purchased the light at an auto parts store and the installation at Jiffy Lube was supposed to be $12.50 - but he waved that in saying "Just remember us when you have other auto needs". I then asked what else they do there, besides oil changes. "Brakes, tires, you name it". Well, that settles that. They next time I need an oil change, his store is where I will go. I will also price out snow tires, which I need to buy this fall, because mine are on their last season. I had a very positive experience from start to finish. Came to this location as a walk in on a very busy afternoon during a rainy storm. The place was packed and all the guys there were working extremely hard. All employees there were extremely nice and knowledgeable about the issue I was having (nail in tire) It wasn't the quickest wait because they were slammed but everyone working there did their absolute best to continue servicing customers. First time I've used this Jiffy Lube. I needed some dings in my windshield repaired, and this store advertised that they do such work. I was greeted quickly, my keys taken and within about 15 minutes, my car was ready. Amazing! James, my technician, processed my payment, was very polite & cordial, walked me to my car, held the door for me & asked if I had any questions. The service was just excellent, plain & simple. Halsey Street Portland Oregon 97220 and on 12/16/2022 they give me a quote statement for only $252 dollars for change of 6 sparkplugs on a Pontiac Aztec 2003 but when I do came on 12/19/ 2022 on them with the same car Pontiac Aztec 2003 they increase to $410 dollars and I wait patiently the hole day until they close but they do not make this car running and they take out from shop without to drove a test drive and so after wee stay in rain and cold tray to recharge the battery until all the terminals get red and get smoke for them! I told them to push inside the car for recharging the battery and so after I pay to them cash all the money they tray to cheating me! Today 12/20/2022 I waiting again the hole day until they told me to take away my car ather way they tow away my car ! So I was force to call my Tow from Nationwide to bring my car at home and one employer a woman came and yealing on us so I told her to do not yealing and she just go to cousin on us ! I had a coupon for a basic oil change. Regular oil, non synthetic. As I was pulling in, the guy tells me my make and model of car only takes synthetic and that's the only kind of oil they use. Right there, I should have backed my car up and gone elsewhere. So, as I'm looking out their picture window a guy is throwing my dip stick around like it's a javelin. Laughs all around. I have a car that has cosmetic body damage but it's dependable. That doesn't mean you treat it like an errant step child. Ok, no harm done. As I am waiting to get my vehicle worked on, I am noticing the guy who is working transactions at the counter is asking everyone if they would like their car professionally detailed. On the side. Ok, nothing wrong with a little side hustle. When it is my turn to pay, I explain I have a coupon for money off on a regular oil change. He gives me five dollars extra on the discount. Then when I run the card through, it comes back that I need to do it again. I run it through twice or maybe three times and finally, there is a zero balance. A day or two later, I get home and I've been double charged for one oil change. I talked with them on the phone before we went out of town over the weekend. When I came back they said, they didn't double charge me and I should call them. I called my bank and you could clearly see two debits showed up on the same card for Jiffy lube, clearing within 24 hours. I only have one car. It is the same location where I am charged, and they are trying to say I made the mistake, not them. One more thing, they neglected to provide me any feedback regarding fluid levels or filters, which I usually get from them Maybe they changed their policy.., I haven't called them back to discuss with them their side of things yet, and maybe it's not fair to write this before I do but, the message they sent was not conciliatory, instead, they seemed to be justifying their position..So, at this point I'm not wasting any more time and energy on the boys at Jiffy Lube and unless they admit they are capable of making an error, I won't erase this review and in the future, will choose to take my business elsewhere. read more

My girlfriend took her car in today for a basic oil change. They told her the front brake pads were worn down to dangerous levels, and that parts and labor would be $287. She was suspicious and texted me to ask. Knowing a bit about cars, and how new the car was, I knew there was absolutely no way and told her to pass on it. I pulled the wheels off just now, and (sure enough) all pads are absolutely fine, with at least 90% life. Do not ever take your car to a Jiffy Lube. read more

Recently had an experience here that warranted a positive review be posted. My wife and I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R and we had a couple of things we needed to get done, namely we were due for an oil change, but perhaps just as critical was the need for a new battery. Here we are nearly to 2018 and this car still has the original battery in the engine bay. No issues manifested themselves until a routine jump being required recently on an outage where we listened to the radio without the engine on, for a while. Anyway, my wife decided on Saturday that it was a good time to bring the car in. Now, places like Jiffy Lube can be polarizing and certainly aren't free of mistakes or flawed work, but many are great. We've always had good experiences. Bringing the car in, they started to check everything as they normally do. They started doing the oil change and after a minute or two, came to tell me that the battery was bad, hardly able to hold a charge. Offering a good price, I decided to just let them install a new one. They did this quickly and without complaint, but curiously, the car wouldn't start... in-fact, nothing would work. They tested the battery, tested the alternator... both were good, perfect... they were stumped. I remembered an issue we'd had, its source unbeknownst to me, with some lights on the dashboard coming on and the local Subaru specialist unable to tell us what it was. Eventually they were satisfied with telling us it had to do with the gas cap, but the frequency pointed to other causes.. Anyway, back to Jiffy. After looking in there and testing various things, they eventually found a bad main relay. At this point, they started calling around for the part and seemed to come-up empty handed with each and every call. A conversation was had basically pointing to the reality of us picking up the part ourselves in the morning. It was dismaying since that meant either leaving the car there, or somehow "jimmy-rigging" the bad relay to get it to work. Finally though, the manager came over to us and said that he'd called a local O-Reily Auto Parts store and that they had the part. Not only that, but he'd have a colleague go pick-up the part. And so he did. And that employee came back with the relay, it was installed, and they charged us $4 - the cost of the relay. That's great customer service. Recommended. read more

Brought my car in for a routine oil change. No problem with the oil change itself. But as you pay they boast about their "complementary car vacuum." I came for an oil change and not a vacuum, but cool, I'll take a free vacuum. As I got in the car, I noticed that if they did vacuum, it was a terrible job. Once again, I'm not here for the vacuum. But after I drove a few blocks I recalled that on my way to this Jiffy Lube, I used a napkin to wipe up some juice my daughter spilled on the all weather floor mats and left the saturated napkin on the passenger floor. After the oil change and free vacuum I noticed it was gone! Cool, they threw away my garbage too! Waaaaaiiiiit a minute .... good thing I opened my glove box that same day .... because they stuffed the napkin saturated with juice in the glove box! Imagine the stink and possible mold that would have been on that napkin if I wouldn't have noticed it that day! Who would stuff a wet napkin in a glove box!? If you are going to boast about your free vacuum service, do it well, and don't do dumb stuff like stick wet napkins in the glove box please! Thanks! read more
