Gateway Tire & Service Center - The puncture seen from the inside, with a probe inserted to pinpoint the location. No evidence of prep for a patch. No patch, obviously.

I had a slow leak in my truck tire, left it at the Corinth Gateway Tire, and picked it up at noon,…read moreclosing time, last Saturday. An hour later, after closing time, the tire was flat again. I had to pull off the flat and put my spare on, and wait until they opened Monday to return for a "proper repair." I was then shown the tire with the leak bubbling and was told the patch didn't hold because it was too near the sidewall. They offered to order me a new tire for $318 but it would take a day. I told them I would just ride on my spare until I decided what to do with the flat tire, since I thought the leak was far enough from the sidewall to hold a patch. It had been driven less than a mile after the patch before it went flat again. The tire tread had at least another 40,000 miles left on it and was one of a matched set of 4 expensive tires, and I didn't want to be quick to declare it trash. Buying 2 new matching Bridgestone Dueler HT tires to balance out the set would have cost me over $700. A friend suggested another tire store that gave me a much better price, so I asked them to look at my tire to see why the patch failed on a pinhole slowleak. When they pulled it off the rim and found the pinhole leak, there was absolutely no evidence of a patch even being attempted. In fact, the hole was not even scuffed or otherwise prepped for a patch. (See included picture). They told me the leak was in a spot, away from the sidewall, that could easily be patched, so they properly prepped it and applied a patch that I'm confident will hold. I went back to Gateway Tire to complain and showed them the picture on the inside of the tire, with no patch and no evidence that it had even been prepped for a patch. They had already refunded me the charge, but I wanted to show them the picture and complain about the massive aggravation and inconvenience caused. I also wanted to point out to them that: 1. On my 1st visit I was charged for a patch that was not even applied and sent on my way with a tire that was bound to continue leaking. 2. On my 2nd visit there was no effort to break open the tire to investigate why any patch had failed. I was only showed the outside where the hole was still bubbling, and was told that patches on the sidewall just don't hold up. I'm glad I didn't buy that, even though I suspect they probably do sell a lot of tires to their more gullible customers with this little trick. Needless to say, I won't be seeking their services again. I'd be glad to recommend another shop that is reliable and $10 cheaper, though.

took my 2016 Nissan Murano to have oil and filter change. A few weeks later I started to hear a…read moresound coming from under the hood. Since I still have a warranty left I took it in to Nissan dealership. They then discovered they could freely spin the oil filter with there hand, that obviously Gateway did not put the oil filter on correctly and tighten it with the tool only their hands which did not let it seal with the oil pan. All the while my car was slowly losing oil and the sound I was hearing was my engine running with barely any oil in it. Nissan fixed the problem. I contacted Gateway Tires on S. Church Street in Murfreesboro, TN to let them know what happened and they did not install my oil filter properly. They agreed to reimburse me for my oil change and my cost to the Nissan dealership which I appreciated but wants me to sign a statement they can not be held responsible for any other problems that may result in this down the line. Which I will not do mainly because this invalidates my cars warranty now. What is going to be done about my no good warranty now? All they said was well you didnt bring it back to us in the first place and why would I, as I dont know what was wrong which is why I took it to Nissan where whatever the problem my warranty would have covered it to fix it. I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT NOW HAVING NO WARRANTY. Due to their negligence.

When I asked the salesman why the passenger side of truck had been repainted he stated the truck had been "bumped" and had to be repainted. This was after I had already asked if it had been in any accidents and was told no. However, now that I'm trying to sell this truck the CARFAX states severe damage was done to the entire passenger side of the truck. The seller also stated, the very bold statement, "this truck is so clean, this truck has never been on a dirt road." On a separate note, the finance manager at the time tried to bully and use insults to push me to finance through them although I already had financing and ran my credit info so many times it lowered my credit score 40 points. I filed a report with BBB; however, Mrs.King chose to lie for the salesman and plead ignorance of the previous accident, instead of doing the right thing, in her response. She posted the document they provided me at purchase and it shows no major damage was done to the truck; however, the current carfax states the severe damage was done well before the truck was purchased. Finally, the truck I traded in was a 2005 Ford F150 with a 5.4 triton engine. The engine was going out in the truck and they wouldn't give me much of anything for it which I understood, in its condition. This is also why I did not sale privately, I did not want to sell someone this truck, to have it break down on them 5 miles down the road. However, within a couple days the truck was for sale on their lot for over 13,000 dollars, with the same engine about to go out. Whoever purchased this truck, got a huge disappointment at some point. Good luck if you purchase from this lot. They embrace the sleazy used car dealer stereotype and will double down on their lies.

As of 1-9-16 there are over 100 (a BMW, Jaguar, Hummer, Shelby GT500, Lexus, Camaro and a couple Corvettes). I've stopped by several different times to look at reasonably priced autos, but the mileage was just too high for my needs. Each one I've looked at have been very clean. One salesman keeps a dip of Skoal in his lip and when he speaks you can smell it. It turns my stomach but I just try to stay down wind from him. As far as a variety of clean and affordable newer cars on a small lot this is possibly the best in the area.
