While the turnover rate at these places is fairly high, Phoenix has consistently maintained higher quality of masseuses. Today, I received the best massage yet from a masseuse I've never had before, Myrie. I called ahead to be sure they had an opening today and asked for a 90-minute massage. When I arrived, Myrie greeted me at the front desk and showed me to the room. Her massage style is very Asian but I could tell after a couple of minutes she really had mastered her work. I asked for harder pressure and she started with medium hard and worked her way into a harder pressure where needed. She worked my muscles both in isolation and in sets. Her efficient detailed technique allowed her to be effective within the time constraints. Bonus: my sinuses cleared when she worked on my face, hitting trigger points perfectly and I could again breathe. I highly recommend Myrie when you are healing from a sports injury or looking to get your muscles ready for that Yoga class.

I also loved that I was able to walk in to get a massage; some places require you to book an appointment 1 to 2 months in advance. SO convenient that I can get a massage as needed. I'm cancelling my 13 year membership at Massage Envy and planning to come back here whenever I need a great massage. Honestly, the quality of the massage I received was as good as the ones at high end places that charge twice as much. I wasn't too thrilled about how the place looks from the outside; I almost cancelled and drove back home. Unfortunately I started my period the morning of the massage, and when I let Anicha know she became extremely concerned with my comfort levels. She allowed me to switch to a table massage instead of the originally planned Thai massage, and even consulted with him while I was changing to make sure I was okay keeping the appointment and wasn't just being polite. She was just really concerned that I would be uncomofortable and wouldn't get the most out of the massage. That actual massage was amazing! She used an excellent amount of pressure (I like really intense pressure) and basically worked through 2 years worth of postdocing-in-a-pandemic stress that has accumulated in my shoulders, lol. I had some shoulder pain keeping me up at night so I needed to find a place for a massage and came across this place. It's a small business in a cute business center where the outside of the business center look like little houses. It's basic interior decor (not a fancy spa), but cute and clean. When you first enter, you will be required to pay before the massage. They prefer cash, but they do take credit card for slightly higher price to cover the cost of the credit card transaction. Prices are good and my massage therapist, Lily gave a great massage! When she first starts out, she massages for awhile with the sheet on your body, later she moves to using oil. She uses good sweeping motions with her forearms, great pressure with her hands and even was on the table a few times to apply the right amount of pressure. I prefer medium to firm pressure and I thought it was right on. I felt like she worked really hard to give me a good massage! My shoulder and my whole body feels so much better! There is a little bit of a language barrier, but she didn't seem to have a hard time understanding me...there was a few times I had to ask her to repeat herself during our conversation. That doesn't bother me as she was super sweet and professional. I even made another appointment for my daughter to get a massage, they are very accommodating with days/times. I gave a 5 star based on my level of massage I received, I feel like it was as good or better than some I have received in the past. I will be back again!
