I took this class because I was gifted a gift card but I plan to take it again with my own money! Steven was very informative, knowledgeable, friendly, and an overall excellent teacher. The class is intimate and he provides assistance when needed, but doesn't hover. I really feel like I learned a lot and I have a beautiful ring to show for it! I highly recommend! read more

The most amazing, informative, and creative class I have been a part of. Loved every minute. Didn't know what to expect, but boy did I fall in love with Jewelry making. The teacher was patient, caring, and explained in fine detail every aspect so we grow an understating for what we are doing. He takes pride in his work and has a passion for jewelry making. Best instructor and very compassionate and funny person :) read more

I recently retired and wanted to find a hobby. I decided to try jewelry making and enrolled in a weekend workshop at JCW. I gotta say, it was a great idea. I took the Fabrication and Soldering Course with Tasha Felice (Instructor) and she was informative, friendly and most of all patient with all her students. One student, who was visiting from Northern Florida, had such a great time she was thinking of coming back to take other workshops. I too will be coming back, and this time I want to take the weekend Stone Setting workshop. Thank you Tasha. read more

I have taken a few jewelry classes around south Florida and finally found one that was exactly what I was looking for. Steven Brownlee owns the workshop and is a great teacher. He instructs you step by step and explains WHY so it all makes sense when you go to do it yourself. He was extremely hands on with his teaching and you could tell he is dedicated to his craft. I took the three day workshop that was 6 hours each day. During those 6 hour days, he taught and would then help the students as they needed it. He for sure could've gone and done his own work during those hours, but he didn't. He answered questions and helped the entire time. He also makes the student think. He doesn't just answer questions, but helps you think through the process. You really understand the why behind each step. He is very patient and kind. There were students in the class ranging from one individual who wanted to become a high end jeweler to those wanting to do more art type jewelry. Steven worked with everyone regardless of ability level. I learned more in those three days than in full semester classes at other places. He had tools for each station and all the supplies you could want to work with. The studio was clean, easy to find and easy for parking. I drove an hour to come to the workshop and it was well worth it. If you're looking to learn jewelry design or hone your current skills, this is the place to do it. I look forward to taking more classes here. read more

Be careful signing up for a workshop. If you miss it or have an emergency which happens especially with Covid. They won't work with you to take another workshop or give you a credit. It's all about the money. Take a class at Michael's or some place else. At least their know about treating people. I saw a FB review stating that they were condescending. The reviewer was right. read more

We took a class on beginning fabrication here a few days ago. My mom, sister and I! Had such a great time and Steven was a great teacher. Looking forward to taking more classes in the future. read more

I took Steven's Beg. and Intermediate Jewelry Fabrication courses this past summer. It was well worth it! It was all that I expected it to be. Initially I wasn't sure I would take both due to finance, but am so happy that I did. Coming from far it is best to take both courses back to back as he suggested. You learn everything from how the tools work, to the various materials you use, and how to complete pieces from scratch. He covered cutting, taking measurements, annealing, soldering, polishing, stone setting, wire wrapping, etc... He was an excellent teacher with expert knowledge! His passion for jewelry making and teaching really shows. He's very friendly, down to earth, and patient. He really takes the time with his students. His approach to teaching is very technical and precise, which I found very important when it comes to learning how to make jewelry. He covers alot in these intensive workshops, so I found it helpful to take notes. I believe he just opened the new space he is in now...well, it is amazing! A beautiful set up, with lots of room to work, while still having a small, intimate feel to converse with the other students. I highly recommend taking workshops/ class with him! You won't regret it! read more

Was told we would have a private ring making for our wedding bands. After almost 3 months of going back and forth at the last minute he canceled. Don't trust him and don't take classes with someone who won't follow theoufh read more

I took some classes in Jewelry Creations Workshop before moving to Los Angeles and it was very good and professional. Steve used to take care of every student one-at-a-time with knowledge, patience and dedication in the different levels requiered. I really enjoyed the time I was there and learn a lot from him. I recommend everybody who wants to take jewelry classes to go Jewelry Creations Workshop! read more

I took my first class at Jewelry Creations Workshop 8 months ago and never left! Steven is an amazing teacher, he makes sure students learn the skills and techniques so they understand it and can then go make jewelry on their own. I also rent space in the studio, and there is such a cool, artist/maker community there full of creative people who share ideas, help each other out and make beautiful art and jewelry. I highly recommend Steven as a teacher, he is knowledgeable, professional, creative and fun, and you will learn A LOT from him! There are lots of great classes for all levels, and the space is really well set up. If you want to learn something new, check this place out! read more

The website advertised a certain price for lessons and we were charged a different price paid by the hour. He said his private instruction fee was $65 but he was giving us a discount at $100/hour for 2 hours which added up to $200 for a 2 hour session for myself and two daughters so it averaged out to about $33/hour for each of us. As far as I'm concerned this is false advertising since his website says there are group lessons at a group rate then when you ask he only gives private lessons. His website says one tuition price with 18 hours etcetera but when we asked about classes he said he didn't do group lessons anymore and we had to pay his private fee by the hour. Also he said he didn't think my kids were interested and that I was making them go? I guess that is why they were begging me to hurry up before the lesson so we could get there on time so they could start? He said they needed practice doing a silver ring and that the pronged settings took years to learn. I've had a couple day jewelry class before and it only takes a couple minutes to put a pronged setting into a ring that is being crafted. Other than the above my daughters did enjoy their time there while it lasted. read more

I recently had the Beading/Wiring class and it was GREAT! I really enjoyed the hands on approach, Steven's patience, and the various techniques that were taught. I was excited when I bought this beginner's class as a Groupon and even more happy at the end when I completed my own silver ring. The class was interesting and informative and the instructor "Makes" you learn the steps and won't do them for you which is good. I never realized how many steps it took to make jewelry! I will say I will definitely take another series of classes to learn settings, etc. once my schedule frees up a bit. It was definitely worth the drive. read more

I loved this class and the instructor. Steven made the class fun with his playful teasing and helpful tips. I did the Silver Ring project and came out with a fun ring that I will wear a lot. Steven is a great instructor, demonstrating what to do before he sets the class off to try it on there own. Don't worry though; He is there to help when you need it. I would definitely recommend this class and I would go again. read more

My daughter and I were looking for an entry level jewelry class. After contacting Steven, we were able to schedule classes around our limited schedules. He is a sweet, kind person and is a caring teacher. I was so delighted that other members of the class were at a beginning level as well. Steven inspires thoughtful learning so that the process is a true experience. We completed out first ring project and have registered for 4 more classes. This dream deferred has become my new reality. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop for beginners as well as more advanced artists. read more

Steven is a great teacher. He has a very positive energy that only adds to your creative drive. I wasn't interested in making the standard polished rings or even more traditional jewelry items. He was able to adapt to what i wanted quickly and effectively, providing excellent guidance and intruction. The intimate class size also ensures that you get plenty of attention when you need it. I highly recommend Jewelry Creations Workshop to anyone looking to improve their skills or learn new ones. read more

I am obsessed with jewelry and everything about it. I have to say this class was a total disappointment. I didn't find the instructor to be patient at all. If I needed help with something he was almost angry at me. I would not take a jewelry making class here again. There are other places with patient instructors where the room you work in is clean and not so dumpy...I left here very disappointed. read more

I have read Sara C, Amaloa B and Jen N's reviews and I wholeheartedly agree with their evaluation of Jewelry Creations Workshop. Steven is an excellent teacher for many reasons: He has a tremendous foundational knowledge of jewelry making, teaching you the correct way of doing things & not the quick- putting-it -together-but- actually-is-not well- made-syndrome that has come into the jewelry trade. He shows you the reasons for each step, as you are encouraged to think things through for your own designs. When goof up's happen, as they will, -it is a learning process with encouragement, and the person knows, that everyone goes through this. Steven has great hands on demonstrations, and yet when we still need extra help, as we all do, he is there for each person One-on-One, with patience, intuitive understanding and humor. Our classes were/are terrific and I am now renting studio space there....guess that says it all. read more
