Not worth it if you want a ring made properly…read more My sister got her engagement/wedding rings from Sarah O back when they were newer- and I love their designs so I had said for 5 years I wanted my rings from here. My fiancé bought me the Nova ring and proposed 12/22. 12/23 I took a closer look and saw that the prongs on my center stone were FAR from flush on the stone (see pictures, iPhone cameras are wild). Which is a problem because if they snag on clothes or furniture the prongs bend more and the stone can loosen and fall out. On top of that one of the halo stones was loose (video). On a BRAND NEW, never worn ring. We took it to Sarah O and they admitted fault and said of course they'de repair the ring- under the limited warranty it was all covered, but it will take 3-4 weeks. Bummer.. but glad the solution was simple no pushback... Don't underestimate how disappointing it is to tell all of your loved ones you are engaged and everyone says where is the ring, they reach for your hand and there's nothing there. I 3 weeks go by and I get the ring back, Prongs on the main stone were fixed.... But the loose halo stone... they smushed the setting from the top in order to secure the mele stone- causing the sides to fan out creating a gap from the sides of the setting to the diamond. Which ruined the symmetry of the ring and disrupted the sparkle of the halo diamonds because of the way it was sitting. (See photos) Devastated. Emailed with the new problem was told "we had professional jewelers quality check the ring so the stone is secure but if you want to we can fix this for you, we will rush it so it's done in 1 week"... Quality check the ring??? I know I said I wanted the stone secured and not loose, I didn't assume I'd have to specify that professional jewelers should fix it the right way...... I send it back. Next day, I get a call from our customer support contact.... Tells me that manipulating the metal in this way would ruin the integrity of that setting, more likely to bend and fail holding the stone- so they're recommending that they completely recast the ring. However - that will take 6 weeks. If I don't want to wait that long they can send the flawed ring back as is... assuring me the stone is secure... but what they didn't say is that- that would mean that if the stone ever fell out due to normal wear and tear ... to have it fixed they would still need to recast the ring but my warranty would probably be expired and I'd have to pay for it. So I sent it back. Nearly 6 weeks go by and I email to check on my rings status. They say it'll be done "the week of the 23rd." So that means it could be done on FRIDAY of that week when it should be done Friday the week prior - that is 6 weeks- and you should be mailing it to me ON the 23rd - you've had 6 WEEKS!!! The "week of the 23rd is 7 WEEKS" and if it isn't done until Friday that means you'll be mailing it to me the next week and be pushing 8 weeks! So I sent an email detailing exactly what I just said. And lone behold they were able to ship the ring to me the next day. I recieved it and checked it 5xs over and it seems to be fixed. Fixed so well I'm seeing flaws from the previous ring I never even pointed out were fixed: My V prongs apparently were very sloppily made the first time (see last picture) lol. Honestly comical now. They gave us a 25% discount code to compensate us for the trouble to use towards a wedding band- because we asked for it we felt like we should get something, they didn't initiate this offer- but I'm not sure I want to purchase from them again anyway. Besides they had a Black Friday sale for 20% off in November so it doesn't particularly feel like a fair recompense for being without my ring for 3 months. The good news is the Sarah O team was always very responsive and respectful and owned their mistakes. -denial would've been much worse. Just very unfortunate that it takes so much advocacy and the fact that you as a non-professional really have to double check their work and make them do it right rather than them doing it right the first time. We have a family friend who also purchased their engagement ring from here within the past year or so and while they didn't have the same construction issues their ring was A MONTH DELAYED. They had to replan their whole engagement plan. And as I mentioned my sister got her rings from here years ago and hasn't had a problem, hasn't lost a stone so. ‍ idk maybe their production system changed. I like my ring- but I bet I could find a ring I like just as much elsewhere. That's what I suggest you do. ..... Will update this review should the longevity of my ring turn out to be an issue.

They did refund less than $200 for previous ineffective repairs. They asked me to send it back again, but I do not trust their jewelers to remedy the issue and not cause further damage. After flying to Denver twice to design my custom engagement ring, I experienced multiple failures: -A diamond fell out of my wedding band within six days of our wedding. -A few months later, the center stone fell out of my engagement ring. -Sharp, uneven prongs continued to catch on clothing even after paid repairs. -Tool marks left on setting when sent in for repairs. I treated my rings with extreme care: I work from home, remove them for pottery, cleaning, sleeping, and even casual activities. Despite this, Sarah O repeatedly blamed user wear and charged us for repairs -- never fully taking ownership of the underlying quality issues. This level of workmanship is unacceptable for custom bridal jewelry at this price point. Consulting with friends who have worn their engagement rings daily for over a decade without a single structural failure only further confirmed how unusual and disappointing this situation is. Being told that even hair catching on the prongs could cause bending was another sign that the ring was not built for everyday life. At this point, we have made the decision to fully reset the ring with a reputable local jeweler to protect the stone and finally have a piece that will last. While the designs at Sarah O are beautiful, our experience was frustrating, costly, and disappointing. I cannot recommend them for anyone looking for durable, high-quality jewelry built for real life.

I agree with another review on Balefire that I never really felt like I knew what was going on in the design process, it sometimes felt like I was expected to be a gemologist/jeweler and to know much more than the average person would about the steps in designing a ring. When I went in to pick up my ring, the sapphires we selected were not green at all, and the amount of stones didn't really look right on the band. I wished I could have seen a 3D mockup of this so I would have really known what to expect rather than a drawing that quite frankly looked like it was done in MS Paint. I left the store and held the ring up in the daylight and almost none of the color in the sapphires was visible, which was the entire point of what we discussed with Balefire. I reached out to them and they told me that sapphires change a lot in the light (would have been good to know that ahead of time) but kindly offered to fix it for me with colored diamonds that would be more saturated. I pick up the ring for a second time and have to say that it was odd to be ignored by the owner and only spoken to by another woman who works there, who was incredibly nice and helpful, but it was bizarre to have the owner 3 feet away typing on a laptop acting like I didn't exist. It seemed like poor customer service to not even check in and see how things were going with the ring that we had talked so much about. After less than a month of having the wedding ring, a stone fell out while I was out at dinner with my family in Kentucky. These stones are really small and hard to keep track of, for one, and for two, now I'm away from home for a long period of time without my wedding ring that i JUST got. I couldn't and still don't understand why this ring didn't even last a month and how I'm supposed to have faith that it will hold up for the rest of my life. Once I took pictures of the ring to send to Balefire and zoomed in on the settings and the poor job that had been done, I understood why the stone fell out. I contacted the jewelers and just said frankly that I am done, do not want this ring, have no faith in Balefire that this ring will hold up for years to come, and just wanted to return it to them for a refund. This process is something that was supposed to be so fun and special and instead has been incredibly stressful and sad. I feel taken advantage of by Balefire as this ring was $3k and it didn't even last a month without an issue. Of course they refused my efforts to return the ring but did offer to fix it yet again. I am pursuing other options but truly wish I never went here in the first place.

I had silver rings…read moreresized, 2 links with stones removed from a tanzanite bracelet, Kat extended a beautiful Native American made silver onyx cuff bracelet (was originally made for a smaller wrist), and she fixed a previous jeweler's flawed way of attaching a large labradorite to a unique silver bracelet. The labradorite bracelet was tough because even the original jewelry designer was unable to determine a fix and so the stone and the basket would not continue to disconnect without destroying the design. Kat's prices are fair and service is usually approximately 2 weeks since she is a one-woman show. All items came out perfect, like they were designed that way. Kat takes great pride in her work.
