A good and timely sale for your Christmas party! Circa Dec 20, 2022.
    Howard L.

This is an a-ok Jewel-Osco and one of two near our home.  I like this one better than the one on Dempster near Greenwood due to a couple of factors.  They generally have a little better meat quality selection here, they have self-checkout, and they have a better grade of clientele here (meaning older and wealthier Park Ridge folk).  On the downside, it's a smallish but cozy Jewel, and their parking lot is a bit more congested than the other, but both have busy lots.  It's the week before Christmas weekend and a snow storm is brewing and it was quite busy in here today.  If you decide to shop here on the day of Christmas Eve, I think that is their busiest day of the year, and that's just an eyeball judgement from me over the years.  Bone-in rib roast was on sale for $5.99/lb (regular price of $14.49/lb) and that's a nice annual draw for us during Christmas party week.  But now they've added a $25 minimum purchase requirement, which they did not previously have for this sale, but it's also easy to achieve.  Unlike some Jewels, the lines also move relatively efficiently here.  But note also that my comments are based on us having the luxury of grocery shopping at usually non-peak times.

Decent store. This location is perfectly cleaned, floors and carts are sparkling. They sell lots of ready-to-eat food like soups, chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads and parafit yogurts, even sushi is available in this location. Flower department is rich for colorful plants of all kinds... Great selection of coffee and tea. Many items on sale, yellow tagged. Good place fort daily or weekly grocery shopping. Self check-out stations available.

Mistakes like this are common at this Jewel. Mislabeled cheese from grab and go section.

This is a smaller Jewel location located on Greenwood in Park Ridge. It is usually pretty crowded on weekends, but has a pretty large parking lot to accommodate the crowds. The main drawback here is the narrow aisles which can be hard to navigate if another customer is nearby. The back aisle is filled with pallets of promo items further complicating the shopping experience. The assortment in this store is somewhat limited compared to other Jewel locations. They made some renovations a few years ago, but it is still kind of a bare bones location in my opinion. The produce section isn't that great and I would much prefer shopping at the nearby Mariano's. Also, it seems like they have a disproportionate amount of floor space dedicated to general merchandise - the Osco side of the store is always a ghost town. Lines here get very long and stretch halfway down the aisles. It is confusing if you are coming from the back of the store and quite difficult to move lanes if you get stuck in a slow one. This location serves its purpose, but if I need to shop at Jewel I would rather drive to one of the Niles locations.

VERY low prices, and my husband basically lives off of the frozen meals and pizzas at home. He finds dairy, cage-free and pasture raised, Humane Certified eggs at much less of a markup than at Jewel. I always find some new vegan thing or other, they always have new seasonal offerings. My ONLY complaint is that the checkout lines are FAR too long, due to what I feel is "forced" by company policy on the checker staff. The checkers are FAR too "chatty" with every single customer, when most of us simply want to get in and out. Great cart policy with regard to return and retrieval. Zero complaints and we will always be return customers!

Were these cookies made by Frankenstein's Monster? 1). Manufacturer knows nothing about making "sandwich" cookies: bottoms should BOTH face towards filling, so cookie looks beautiful no matter how it is held! 2) Filling: like dried rubber cement, sticky/overly sweet. Try using real raspberry jam. When I attempted to pull a cookie apart to scrape off the filling, the cookie exploded. 3) Looks like Flying Monkeys assembled these cookies. 4) All cookies in box were deformed and/or broken. Either your truck driver hit a major pothole or they came from the factory this way. Complete waste of money and calories.

There is only one place where you can enter this store, and even when I was here around 5pm on a Thursday this created a backup. To add insult to injury the doors are enter or exit only doors (though I can't remember if there's a barrier between them--so maybe you can fudge it). Other than that, standard Whole Foods. They have an Amazon return counter on the side opposite of the entrance (since that's the least convenient place they could have put it for people making returns, I can only assume it was by design and they're hoping that people will do some shopping whilst they're in there). At that end there is a single exit-only door right by the Amazon counter, so you can avoid temptation by leaving there.
