The atmosphere from entry has icy and unwelcoming, older grey haired man behind the counter (said Richard on the receipt, but unsure) was clearly having a bad day, as we noticed from the beginning that he was very rude to every customer and employee that he encountered. Every thing we said to him was met with a rude sarcastic comment and eye-roll, think he thought it was under his breath but we could obviously hear him. Felt uncomfortable and intimidated the entire time, we got the impression that had we not been two young women the service would have been better. At many points we gave him grace that we may have been mistaking his attitude, but after the appalling experience I can truly say that he was just a rude man. Me and my family have been regulars at sfc for several years, and always make a point of recommending it. We make the choice to order from the store rather than getting it delivered because the service is normally wonderful. After today we will be honestly never returning. As two women who work in hospitality, we know what it can be like, but this was excessive and intimidating. The fried chicken selection is also decent. The service seems organised and well equipped for quick and accurate service, even at peak demand times. The customer seating area is clean, but a chair is missing from a table leaving exposed metal. The food was fantastic for fast take away food. The salad accompanying my food was fresh and crisp, not warm and expired like other local areas. The fries are fantastic, and good portion sizes for onion rings, onion bhajis and fries, along with the meat on various kebabs. They also accept card, unlike other takeaways.
