I came back to pick them up only to find that he has switched my 18k gold clasp with a cheaper and claimed that was an original. I argued with him because I have the original in the picture I took before I handed to him and he still said it was the original, he had just switched and did not replace with the lighter clasp. I am not sure what to do here - only need to leave a bad review.

The watch has a particular shape but changing the band it's not as different as any other regular watch. I explained this in different jewelry stores that they just needed to pull the pins but nobody was willing to do that, not even trying. Rebecca from "Diamond Concepts" was truly willing to help. I do appreciate very much her empathy, she took the time to listen to me, I shared with her the sentimental value of this watch and her actitud was like... don't say more, she grabbed the tool box and did what she does best... care for her customers. She did not disappoint me, diligently, carefully, she fixed the watch! I just wanted Rebecca to know that I'm thankful with her and happy to find a place where I feel that I can trust them!

I don't relish writing bad reviews for small businesses, but in the interest of protecting other…read morepotential customers you must know NOT to bring your watch to Gold N'times. I only wish I had read some of these reviews before I went there myself. I brought in my deceased father-in-law's Rolex that he left to my son. Our plan was to give it to him at his college graduation. The watch had sat in its box for 10 years and I paid Vic $425 to service the watch. He said he would take it apart, clean it, and make sure it was running correctly. When picking up the watch, Vic said that it was keeping good time. We gave it to my son and that day when he wore it at graduation he noticed that not only would it stop and start running, but it was running fast--hours per day fast. I was disappointed, but took it back to Vic and told him about the problem. He took it and when I returned one week later, he said he didn't know why it was running fast, that he re-oiled a jewel, and that it was now keeping good time. I drove 30 minutes home, and when I arrived, it was 5 minutes faster than I set it at the shop. Of course, this continued and by the end of the day it was no where near keeping correct time. At this point, I was done with Vic and Gold N'times. I took the watch to a recommended shop and the owner called me the next day and described a hairspring problem that was causing the watch to run fast. Additionally, he showed me the internals of the watch and how it was obvious to tell that the watch had not been cleaned recently. I could not afford the full service price he quoted me, but he offered to stop with the repairs he had done thus far for $200. I returned to Vic's shop to ask for a refund--and not even a full refund. I was asking for $200 back to settle with the other shop. This would leave him with money for his time and I wouldn't have to be out any additional money to give my son his grandfather's watch that could actually keep time (even though it still hadn't been fully cleaned or serviced). I explained my side to Vic, that I had paid him for a watch service that left me with a watch that did not tell time and I described the refund that I felt was fair. He immediately told me "I can't help you with that" and he was shocked that I would have even come back to him to ask for any kind of a refund. He actually started ignoring me as I tried to discuss this with him--looking at a magazine on his display case and even walking into his work area as he continued to tell me that he couldn't help me. Even after I confronted him about having clearly seen that the watch had not even been cleaned, he continued to tell me that he could not help me and even told me that I should just pay the $200 to the other shop and be happy that I had a working watch. And in a particularly pathetic bit of sarcasm, he actually suggested that I sell the watch if the money was so important to me. Needless to say, I left without any kind of refund. Honestly, this entire interaction made me more sad than angry--sad to see a business owner not only do such shoddy work and pass it off as professional, but to actually be willing treat people with such dismissive apathy.

I asked every Tuesday and he told me every time it would be done Friday. He also has several of my watches that he hasn't touched in 6 weeks. Do not patronize this business if you want results.

Located in historic Fredericksburg, this shop offers a great mix of quality pieces and a welcoming experience. Justin is personable, professional, and very knowledgeable nothing like the typical pushy salesperson. He takes the time to listen and makes thoughtful recommendations based on what you're actually looking for. The service is top-notch. While they are no longer an authorized Rolex dealer, they do carry Longines watches, along with a beautiful selection of estate jewelry. They regularly host estate jewelry events, which are definitely worth attending if you're looking for one-of-a-kind pieces rather than mass-produced items. I also love that they support local talent, they carry a great selection of jewelry from local designers. Everyone who works there is incredibly kind, and their gift-wrapping is excellent. Make a day of visiting Crown Jewelers and exploring other local businesses in historic Fredericksburg. Highly recommend!

Thankfully, we found it and brought it back to the same jeweler for repair. Three days after picking it up, the head of the ring detached and the diamond was lost forever. When I returned, I was told, "The head was weak and that happens." No apology. No accountability. I was later told they "can't predict the future." Despite the rings being originally made there and the repair failing within days, I was charged again to fix it using one of the last remaining stones from my mother's jewelry. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The lack of care, craftsmanship, and basic empathy during an incredibly emotional situation was shocking. I will never return and strongly recommend taking your business to the jeweler across the street.
