It's set up as a convenience store, but its the breakfast biscuits that set B and B apart. I am…read morenot sure if the biscuits come out of a can or what, but they do SOMETHING to them that makes them wonderful. Soft, flaky, salty, hot on the inside! Perfect way to start a morning. I always get bacon and cheese on mine. The bacon is crispy and the cheese melts a bit to stick on the foil its wrapped in. I'd take a picture, but the thing never lasts long enough. One is plenty. I obsess on the biscuits, but there are eggs, grits, sausage--a great place for a takeaway breakfast, or a full meal in styrofoam. (There is ONE small table and chairs inside, but most folks are on their way to BR and don't linger.) The oriental owners are delightful. When Steve sees you twice, he already knows what your 'usual' is. They have barbecue for lunch--although I've not tried it. But the smell of the lunch cooking as you walk in for breakfast only makes you hungrier. True story: I was fretting to Steve over gaining weight with his breakfast. Not missing a beat he said: "Big Man! When I started here I was big like you. Start eating biscuit every day. Now I am little man!" Just a marketing genius.. Great place for breakfast--and you're bound for Baton Rouge its on the correct side of the road for easy in-and-out.

Our Daily Bread is a bakery, organic food store, restaurant, and health product store all combined!…read moreIt has been at its Florida Boulevard location for many years, but now also has a location at the Main Street Market Downtown. The Florida Boulevard location is the mothership though, where the baking and making occurs, and where the biggest selection of products can be found. I think they have a fine line of their own branded vitamins, supplements, and even preserves. I take their vitamins and a supplement on the daily, and I know they are the right formulas because these folks pay attention to the products that bear their name. You can find whatever vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other supplements you might want, in various brands and formulations. Then there are the groceries and food products, it is a full-fledged old-school health food store. You can buy everything you might need here, in a nice small local store, run by friendly and helpful people who want to connect you with products that are good for you. It seems a better place to buy things that you need. But that's not all folks! Remember the name is Our Daily Bread, and boy do they have that as well as other baked products to enjoy. They have healthy hearty breads, from sweet to savory, in various forms from loaves to po-boy buns. Then there are cookies, muffins, and carob bars! So much baked goodness to choose from. And in recipes that are good for you, without all the additives and preservatives. Then there are the prepared foods. These include a soup of the day (roasted root veggie is my favorite), sandwiches made with their breads, and salads. Other options are also available, including healthy juices and smoothies, for those who prefer their nutrients in liquid form. Go shopping around lunch time and have a meal while you are there, you'll be glad you did!

Thanks to Joel for adding this listing…read more On a recent night I found myself driving on I-12 in need of fuel. A quick search of Yelp led me here so I exited and pulled up to the pumps. The first thing I noticed was that all of the other customers were staring ta me while I fueled up. I wasn't dressed in lavish clothing nor was in a fancy car. I can't quite put my finger on it, but they couldn't take their eyes off of me. Other than the odd looks, fueling up my car was uneventful. The pumps were typical of a Chevron and there were several, easy to access rows of pumps. Inside I got the same odd look from the cashier, but she was very friendly. The store was stocked with typical convenience store items including the much sought after spicy jerky, spicy peanuts and spicy pickles. If you are headed through Livingston and need some fuel, this is as good a place as any. I do wish I could figure out why I got so many looks though.
