They're located next to L&D seafood on the corner of N Foster and Choctaw. I had been seeing a sign that said kitchen open 24hrs for a while so I asked for grits, eggs, and cheese. The owner BigD asked if I wanted meat. I said no since most corner stores don't offer any non-pork breakfast items which I explained. This man told me there was turkey sausage, fried chicken, or fish I could add . That just made my day. I went back later for some crawfish boudin. They have that and liver, turkey wings, potato logs, fries, breakfast, lunch, dinner plus the normal stuff...snacks, drinks, alcohol, tobacco, knick knacks, coffee and more. It's a staple in the neighborhood and almost always busy. There's no public restrooms that I could see. They do sell gas as well.

There was no paper in the men's restroom. So upon me finishing my business. I went and grabbed my drinks and proceeded to pay. The line had reduced considerably by this time. When I was checking out I told the lady on the far right hand side of the counter that there was no paper in the men's restroom she proceeded to laugh. I said that was not a good thing. Think about the ladies restroom not having paper how would you feel. She laughed again. Ever wonder why people are messy. This latest iteration tries to meet the community's needs by having a small selection of grocery/convenience items in addition to prepared food offerings. In regard to the prepared food, it seems there are three stations currently where one can order. These involve sandwiches, pizza, and everything else. I've been a patron of the sandwich counter, and I'm particularly fond the club sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich. These come nicely grilled on a sandwich press, with nice grill marks! My co-workers tell me the burgers are very good, with homemade flavor. The pizzas look nice, but as of yet I have not tried them. I'm glad to see a community-focused business returning to this historic location, and I intend to keep going there and trying the menu!

Other than the convenient location, there is not much good to say about it. My most recent stop here involved a quest for liquid refreshment. I had been to this station many times for fuel, but this may have been my first stop inside the store. From the outside the store is not very appealing. The windows and doors are covered in bars. That level of security led me to believe that they were expecting trouble and that put my guard up. Inside the store is very small and cramped. Luckily I was the only customer or navigating would have been difficult. I did get a very weird feeling from the cashier as he stared at me throughout my entire shopping experience. I guess I looked like some sort of degenerate shoplifter since I hadn't shaved all weekend, so I understand his apprehension when I walked in. After finding what I needed I paid and left. Besides the inhospitable store, the pumps are not easy to navigate. There are only a few pumps and someone pulling up to the store is likely to block one entire set of pumps. If the pumps aren't blocked you're OK, but on almost all of my visits I have had to turn on the side street and enter from there as opposed to entering from Government Street. If you are in the downtown BR area, this may be your only option. I suggest waiting till you leave the area, but if you absolutely must stop here, now you know what to expect.
