What makes this the ideal spot? It's far enough inside the inlet to ensure calm, clear, shallow water. Perfect to jump into, float on the raft, play Frisbee, football, dance to the dueling music... yeah, our speakers can go louder than yours. lol There were plenty of families with the kids happily splashing, dogs having a blast and yeah, some very pretty girls in skimp bikinis. When my family was embarking on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce my own kids to the Jungle Queen. It's a short boat ride that takes you through the canals behind the mansions and quasi-famous homes on the water. Your guide on board will tell you about the homes and landmarks you pass en route. There is a bar on board, so no need to sail sober! LOL There are also a few snacks for purchase. The air movement on the boat keeps you from getting too warm, even when the sun is blazing, but don't forget your sunscreen. There's no bad seat aboard. All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride. We really enjoyed our trip, but I'm deducting one star due to the boat traffic (which I know they cannot really help). Maneuvering around all the other drunks in their watercraft was kind of a drag.

Was expecting some actual tour info, never visited this area and only new tidbit I learned was in regards to the golden gate. We did sail past a lighthouse but nothing was said about it! The tour guide, Tony was nice enough, but definitely wasn't engaging. Kinda gave the vibes as if our tour was an after thought and honestly didn't want to be there and not familiar with our boat. Tour also started late because we were sent the wrong address. Captain confirmed but wasn't at the confirmed location when we called and we had to drive elsewhere. No signs or flags just "walk to the back of the restaurant". The boat had tiki decor, but could definitely get a facelift. There were bean bags to sit on that have seen better days. Seats in the front would get splashed with water. The floor had wet turf, so be aware of that! Water was offered and stored in a cooler. The cooler also doubled as a seat. Lack of cup holders. Life jackets were dirty! Being that the tour was a sunset one we were anticipating sailing in the dark. Was not expecting to be sailing in pitch black. The only light was from the shore and other boats. Captain couldn't figure how to turn on the string lights. Even when he supposedly called for assist no one knew how to turn it on. We were offered to extend the trip but definitely declined since what would be the point?! We had a good time because of the fun that we brought. Likely wouldn't return with my family.

I can certainly say that booking a boat day with Captain Eddie absolutely did the trick and MADE our trip! We originally booked for six hours and had so much fun, we asked to add another hour on. Captain Eddie is easy to work with, very professional, and has tons of great suggestions for things to do while you are in FTL. The pictures of the boat don't do it justice - there is so much room for walking around and tons of seating area, and enough cooler space for any alcohol you need. I will admit, at first I was wary of not going through a typical boat charter company, especially since I was handling other people's money who were paying for our boat day. I did my due diligence and even privately messaged a few of the other ladies who reviewed Hard Charters on here to be sure that they had a fun and safe experience, and the feedback was all immensely positive. This helped me make the decision to book with Captain Eddie and I am SO glad I did! It was the perfect day and exactly what I (and our bride!) had envisioned.

He gave us proper instruction on how to use the jet skis and what to do if we fell in the water. Each of us were provided with life jackets. Because we started off in the canal we were able to get comfortable on the jet skis before heading out to the ocean. Once in the ocean we were able to open the throttle and feel the speed. The early morning tour was a great option because the waters were calm. This tour had a balanced mix of faster speeds and also slower idle speeds in the canals which allowed for seeing all the sights. This tour started in Pompano Beach, came back around to Lighthouse Point down the ocean to Fort Lauderdale and back up through the canal. I was surprised at how long we were on the skis - for about 2.5 hours. We were satisfied with the timing but you'd also want to make sure you have proper sun protection. I also liked that the office KC Jet Ski is operated from had little extras to buy in case something was forgotten - waterproof phone cases, sunglass straps, sunglasses, etc. This was an awesome experience. Similar to a car you need to be 16 to drive one so my 11 year old daughter was on the back of mine and my 6 and 9 year old sons joined my husband. We met Dominic at the Pioneer Park- boat ramps in Deerfield Beach. Please note that this location is different than the address on the Yelp review since we were a bit confused ourselves. We started off slow getting used to the jet skis and also admiring the beautiful homes on the intercoastal. Then for about 30-45 minutes we got to go as fast as we could zipping over massive waves and holding on for dear life. I thought we were speed demons, but my thrill seeking daughter kept yelling at me that I wasn't going fast enough. My 9 year old son did fall off the back of my husband's jet ski, but he claimed that was the most fun part of the excursion. .And Dominic was nearby the entire time to help out in these situations and more, but overall we felt very safe. 1.5 hours was perfect and everyone had a great time. They declared it their favorite day in South Florida and made us promise we'll rent jet skis again on a future trip. Done!
