This is one of those cafes that is located in the heart of the city, in the Queen Victoria Building in fact. Actually, it's quite easy to find considering that it is right at the entrance. Look, it really wasn't one of my favourites, but it is still pretty good, and they do have a rather decent breakfast selection as well. The thing is that it does tend to be a bit pricey, but then again that probably has a lot to do with its location, and it does have a somewhat fancy feel to it as well. Great location for people watching. Sit outside on the shade and watch everyone go by around the Queen Victoria building, statue and around town hall. Had good coffees and a tasty fruit toast with jam. My husband had rye toast which looked a little bland but apparently also good. Had to wait to be seated ( so the sign said) although neither of the two staff st the counter rushed to help. Sat ourselves and after a minute got good table service. read more

If you need a coffee in a rush, head to Jet. Jet at Sydney's QVB, serves coffee which is reliably good, I have never had a bad coffee from them. Jet is always extremely busy, yet their service is always fast and efficient, I go for takeaway coffee which is cheap at $2.50 especially considering how good it is. Also they are open until 11pm 7 days so they are are a good late night cafe option. read more

I found this Caffe to be in a convenient location from George St but found that some of the service staff did not want to be there but others seem polite and helpful. This is a great cafe which offers alcohol and also because of its location, its good for peoplewatchingat the Park & George St crossing too. This is my first review of Jet Bar & Café, however this would have to be my forth or fifth time I've eaten here. Sadly the each of my visits the service is consistently slow. From taking over 10 minutes just to bring you a menu after you've already been seated. To not even asking for coffee orders. Food often comes out before coffee, how does that even happen? The coffee is good but smallish cups mean value is not so good. I've never eaten there but my friend whom I meet likes the banana bread, which is served with butter and syrup and looks decently thick. If you are in town and looking for a place to sit and watch people, this place can be a good choice for you. I can say that it's little bit pricey but nice place to hang out with friends. Even though I tell myself that I'll try something different for lunch the next time I go shopping, I always find myself coming back here. Conveniently tucked into the Queen Victoria Building, it offers a notable selection of gourmet pizzas and the wedges are delicious, even if they are a little pricey at $9. It goes downhill from here. At the end of the day, the menu and wine list are quite run of the mill, the staff can be dismissive, and the place is generally crowded. I wonder what I'm doing here again. A group of us headed over this way after a Friday night that left more than a few of us worse for wear. We needed a place close to the station, that sold something strong enough to wake us up, fill our stomachs enough (but nothing too heavy that early in the morning), and most of all, somewhere to rest our feet. Voila! Jet Bar Cafe, a place convenient to us all and somewhere that we really hadn't paid attention to until now. Struggling to get a table to fit all of us, the waitress kindly helped make us all comfortable before the devouring began. I think they struggle a bit when it comes to catering for larger groups. Service was on and off after that - it seems they hire a lot of overseas help so I question their experience and how well they are trained. Breakfast here was busier than I expected for a Sunday morning but all our food arrived eventually - some ten minutes after everyone else's - which was a little annoying since everyone was so hungry. We have had nothing but exceptional service no matter the time of day or the length of our stay. I have not had one item off the menu that was even close to being mediocre. They offer gluten free bread that is great. The crispy salmon salad and breakfast BLT is an excellent GF or even regular option. read more

The outside seating is for the hearty of lung only. I headed inside initially, only to find the space a bit angular and noisy for the early morning, so decided to sit oustide at the tables under the lovely awning on the York St side of the QVB. All outside tables were plentifully supplied with ashtrays. Ok, I thought, I'll sit at the far end on my lonesome, will avoid smokers. Ordered a juice and coffee and waited. Service was fine, but the juice when it came was unlike any blood orange I've ever squeezed and the expresso so 'restricted' it was barely a spoonful. I know the tiny expresso is trendy, but really. And a little bitter for my liking. Before long, I was fighting off drifting carcinogens from the smokers and from the buses which stop right in front. I've been to Jet a couple of times and I'm not sure why I keep coming back because I think the value for what you get is particularly good. It's pricey and the coffee isn't the best I've had and neither is the food. It's convenient for the location and is good meeting spot for someone not familiar with the city. I think the best thing about this place is that that you can people watch. The staff are sometimes friendly sometimes not and the quality of the food and drink varies too much for me. If you sit outside it is almost impossible to get the attention of the staff. read more

There was only one guy behind the counter, so it was a bit slow (why I took away a star). But the guy behind the counter was so nice, it made my morning. This cafe has a good coffee but also some of the rudest waiter, didn't get his name, but he was one of the older male waiter. He will deliberately ignore you when you tried to get his attention to order. What a shame, good coffee + poor service = bad experience! read more
