The trail for this loop is paved and it appears a lot of the other trails that connect are as well. Very clean and easy to walk with only small, short hills, so friendly for those with mobility issues or even pushing a wheelchair. We saw turtles, some fish, and squirrels during our stroll. Definitely enjoyed this nice area to get outdoors and get some steps in and will return to explore some of the other spots the trail branches off to!

There is a half mile looped walking trail that is completely shaded through the woods and the playground is also pretty cool because the forest around it provides shade. There are two pavilions with bathrooms, water fountains, grills, and plenty of parking and the playground is pretty great and geared towards older kids, but my not quite two year old also had a great time. We will definitely return!

There are also plenty of other fields and facilities for different activities, along with plenty of parking. There's no traditional running track, but this setup works perfectly for me. The bathrooms are also clean and don't smell, which is always a plus! It's still new, so I hope they keep everything this well-maintained. I'll definitely be back to use the basketball and tennis/pickleball courts!

The park is a multi-purpose park as it has a few fields along with the BWI Trail. Parking was easy to find as well once I realized the trail parking is on the other side of the ball field parking. Once parked, I hit the BWI Trail and fell in love. As the trail itself is a little over 11 miles, I did 2 miles and turned around and headed back. The trail is spacious and easy to follow. The signs are clear and the variation of the trail varies from easy to moderate. As I walked along the trail I was captured by the sights of the airport, the horses, and the natural landscape of the greenery. As my walk came to an end, I not only felt good but I was also excited at the experience. If you're in the area and wanting a great trail to walk, run, or bike, check out Andover Park.

In general, cyclists are kind and let you know that they are passing. It's nice that you will see the occasional bench there if you just to sit and enjoy some rays or take a break. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance up by the ballfields or down a ways by the horses. I'm probably doing a disservice by only mentioning the walking trails because that's basically what I will be using. But from what I have seen the ballfields look well-kept and appear to be a fine venue In the county for recreational sports.

The Lakefront area surrounds LakeKittamaqundi. It is a large open space that includes a small…read moreamphitheater, a fountain, a pedestrian promenade, and several restaurants and retail establishments (including While Foods) overlooking the lake. It's such a pretty area to eat, gather, or just chill. It's also a great place to exercise. You can walk/run around the lake and there are several other trails in the area. I walked about 1.2 miles from Blandair Park and thoroughly enjoyed the trails. There was plenty of signage so I always knew where I was going. There was some nice foliage and even some hills. A nice change from the flat Florida terrain!

**As of February 2018** This place is not easily accessible anymore. First off, you cannot LEGALLY…read morepark under the railroad tracks/bridge area. It is clearly marked "No Standing Fire Lane". You can get a ticket or probably towed. There is no other parking for miles. We drove to the Patapsco State Park Avalon Entrance ($4 entry fee), then to "Lost Lake", where there is a trail called Grist Mill Trail. This trail will take you 2.5 miles into the park where it eventually meets Ilchester Rd (right near the hidden staircase to the ruins). After walking 2.5 miles there, we ran into construction signs and a closure near the Bloede's Dam. Because of the closure blocking the rest of the trail, the only way to get across is to travel down the steep woods and walk across the railroad bridge (cross at your own risk- there are active trains passing through that could kill you) to the other side where the ruins are. There is a scenic overlook in the trails near the Dam where you can get a better idea of how steep the woods are to get to the road. Other options may include crossing at the suspension walking bridge (called the Grist Mill Walking Bridge) which is about a mile from the ruins. I haven't seen anyone go this route, but the hiking is more difficult on the other side of the suspension bridge. It appears until the Dam construction is over, this place is going to continue to be very difficult to get to (unless you want to risk getting ticketed or towed). I hope once the construction clears up I will have another opportunity to see this place!

It's beautiful, you can find the ruins of an old mining camp and religious boarding school here. There's even a decent spot to jump off the train tracks into the water below, although take care because the water can be shallow in spots.
