Located in Laurel off main street, this park is parallel to the Patuxent River. They have some walking trails with a scenic option to enjoy the outdoors. There's a parking lot available. A park good for all ages!…read more My son loves playgrounds, but he is only a year and a half. Because of this he can be limited to which playgrounds he can actually play on since he is so small. This park has different sections for different age groups. They are marked as so. Plenty of benches for the adults. They have swings. Even one where you can sit down in front of your small child and swing with them. Also, the whole playground is gated which is great to keep the children within bounds. They even have one of those book exchange boxes where you can leave books or take books as you please.

Close to Chido's along with a nice large field great for playing frisbee or kicking a soccer ball around. -1.25 mile of trails surrounding the lake. -Fairly clean besides all the duck poop. I was here on a Sunday morning and saw a crew of volunteers going around cleaning up trash. -Community events held year-round here. Cons: -No real parking anywhere. It seems many people either park in the housing complexes parking or in the Chido's parking lot. -Half of the walk around the pond is not very peaceful since you are right next to such a busy intersection.

I chose this park for my walk/jog last Saturday and I liked that it wasn't too packed at the time. There were groups of people exercising and there were others solo like me! It's not a big park, but still plenty of room for everyone! I couldn't quite remember the entrance for parking so I ended up parking by the Chidos restaurant. I saw others parked there and heading toward the park so I figured it was fine. Also it wasn't during business hours either so I wasn't worried.

So just because the stated hours are open during the week, doesn't mean there's anything going on and you can't like go behind the fence and there's no digs or anything, or even any place to walk. Sure there's picnic tables if you wanna just sit and eat your lunch with a bunch of corporate office buildings all around but it's definitely not something I would drive 45 minutes to unless you're actively going to one of the scheduled interpretive program.

The dirt paths are heaven though. Here you may encounter a mountain biker or two, but for the most part it is pure peace and quiet. I walked about 12.5 miles on the paths just yesterday. Every hour I am here, I feel like i am shedding months of stress.
