She is in every respect a worthy successor to carry forward the legendary Becker family tradition. Jennifer is unfailingly honest and professional. She wants nothing more than to make your instrument sound as good as it possibly can, whether it's a student instrument or a Strad. She is welcoming, friendly, and understanding with every type of string player, student to lifelong amateur, young professional to world class soloist. You will not find her combination of knowledge, skill, passion, humility, and true art anywhere else. In spite of her status at the pinnacle of her profession, she is completely unassuming. The difference is night and day. Culture - The instructors at Lundstrum do a great job of instilling a culture of encouragement rather than competitiveness that filters down to the students. The older kids encourage and help the younger kids and everyone cheers for each other. Expertise - Every instructor is a trained professional in their field. Most of the younger instructors perform all around the Twin Cities and several instructors had careers on Broadway before working at Lundstrum. They challenge their students to really work on precision and technique and it really shows. My daughter's tap skills, for example, advanced more in her first year at Lundstrum than in four years at her previous studio. Scheduling - Group classes are scheduled so that age groups can have classes back-to-back. No driving to the dance studio five nights a week if your kid is taking six classes. This INCREDIBLY nice for busy families. Range of classes - If your kid loves the stage, it's not enough to just learn to dance, they have to do it all--singing, dancing, and acting. The main programs at Lundstrum do a great job of melding the three into a Broadway curriculum with expert instructors in each classroom. Clear costs - Unlike most dance studios, Lundstrum won't suprise you with a bunch of hidden costs. Many studios charge extra for approved rehearsal clothing, recital costumes, etc. In our daughter's last year at a different studio, we spent over $400 on costumes that she used once and then never wore again! I have a lot of money (well, not really) and I am genuinely in the market for... music stuff. Groth Music has guitars, but guitar is not its primary focus. Instead, Groth is the spot to go to when you want to find sheet music. I think there's still a lot of value in this despite e-commerce. A lot of times, the quality of sheet music isn't clear, especially for pop music. It's very useful to be able to look at the pages for yourself. I'm rating Groth 3 stars because no employee felt like greeting me. I was especially disappointed that the guy in the guitar section simply sat at his desk without even trying to engage me at all. He semi-grumpily said "let me know if you have any questions." I genuinely could've bought something, even a guitar, if he took the second to chat with me like many local music shop workers often do. Instead, I got Guitar Center-level service.

On August 14th 2024, my child was assaulted by one of the teachers at Everbrook Academy Terez…read moreEstrada. I witnessed this take place via the SproutAbout app live camera. My child was asleep on her cot when Terez Estrada walked over to her, kicking the cot several times, then lifting it with her foot, causing my child to jump out of her sleep scared. The cot nearly rolled over. About 5 minutes later I watched my child walk up to Terez Estrada pointing to the bathroom signaling that she had to potty. Terez Estarda never once looked down at my child to give her the attention. As all of this was taking place I left work early, rushing through traffic to make my way to Everbrook Academy. On the drive there, I continued to watch the live cameras and and repeatedly witnessed Terez Estrada mistreat and neglect my child. While the children were being lined up to go outside, Terez Estrada forced my child to stay inside while all of the other children went outside. During snack time, Terez Estrada literally poured my child's snack on the bare table while giving the other kids a bowl to eat out of. Once I arrived at Everbrook Academy, I immediately spoke with the principal, Sydney Richardson, and told her everything that I had witnessed. The next day, I received a phone call from the Director of Everbrook Academy, Barb. She told me that she would view the tapes and then would give me a call back to set up a meeting to discuss the incident. It is now October and I haven't heard anything from Barb. This incident has definitely been swept up under the rug while Terez Estrada still remains an active employee at Everbrook Academy. This was one of my biggest fears about placing my child in daycare and to witness this all happen is heartbreaking.
