The staff are nice to talk to, their front desk girl Hannah was pleasant and kind. But the owner is the exact opposite, I felt like all he cared about was how much money I would spend there. I eventually got cold feet because my gut told me he was upselling me way too high.

The website states that the process to get a quote is as simple as contacting them and giving them some pictures via email and they will send you a quote back, but that wasn't the case for me. I sent them pictures and was told that I would have to bring my chair in for a quote, mind you, I live 35 minutes from downtown Baton Rouge. Over the phone I spoke with the owner "Mike" and as we talked he reviewed the pictures that I sent them. I told him that if he could give me a ball park figure it would help me to determine if I wanted to make that long drive or not. It was not something I wanted to do without having some idea of how much it might cost me. Of course I wasnt going to hold him to the exact number given but I figured he could get somewhere in the vicinity of how much it would cost, unfortunately that was not the case. I pulled up and dropped a chair off that I wanted re-stuffed. Then I waited. It was a Friday and I didn't hear anything back for almost a week. Finally on Thursday of the following week I decided to call and inquire. I was told that they didn't have a quote ready. It would be another day. See where this "Its as easy as sending in your pictures" statement on their website is going, right? Fortunately, I did get a quote the next day. And even though a week earlier I was told that it might cost 200 bucks to re-stuff, the price doubled. Suddenly to stuff a chair that has zipper access to every cushion compartment was now quoted at being worth 400 dollars plus another 40 for tax. I realize you can't expect a snapshot estimate to be written in stone but that was one hell of a price jump after investing nearly an hour and a half in travel time there and back, so I decided I would get my chair back. I watched a video on how to replace the foam in my exact chair. It requires 4 or 6 bolts to be backed out of the seat cushion and for it to be unzipped. The rest of the cushion areas can be accessed simply by unzipping zippers. I decided once I got my chair back that I would call and see where they sourced their foam from and the owner was nice enough to tell me, I just wish he would have did a better job at keeping me informed, staying close to original estimation based on pictures, and been more professional. Update: He has contacted me threatening to expose my personal information over this review, and for him to be such a narcissistic bully type over someone not enjoying dealing with him.... should say it all. I have to admit that for someone to get upset enough about a bad review that they give ultimatum's is pretty hilarious.

I called and was told the wait was about 3 months and that I could bring my furniture. I had a particular fabric pattern and colors in mind for the reupholstery, but I was told that I could select from fabric at the location. Upon my arrival I was met by the owner, LeRoyal, who would also be doing the work. He evaluated my ottoman and gave me a quote detailing the work to be done. My 8-year-old niece was with me and it was around closing time, so I'm sure he was exhausted, but he took time and interest to share the history of his beginnings from his service in the US Army to the honing of his craft. We got to see a section of his workroom where transformations happen; where furniture gets a makeover and becomes revitalized; where antiques and heirlooms and favorites are refurbished and reconditioned to carry on their purposes and have a chance at being passed on for many years. LeRoyal has provided service for prominent figures of US and local government, celebrities, dignitaries, community and neighborhood people. And he's yielded the same level of quality service to all. Much of his business comes from "word of mouth" - not reviews. Certainly, anyone who sees his finished products would highly recommend him. I too recommend LeRoyal, for his detailed work and integrity. It is said that 'Your gift will make room for you', and certainly, his gift has resulted in a thriving business for over 50 years. That, along with his expertise, craftsmanship and results, speaks volumes and is the type of 'review' worth my investment.
