Lucas answered while on an existing job. He was very honest saying he can't drop by to make an assessment. Knowing the importance of the situation, he said he'll have his father drop by to take a look. The father (was it Joe?) came by as promised and saw that the previous roofer didn't put flashing around a portion of the chimney. He gave a couple of possible fixes and I picked the more expensive one. He gave me a break on price if i went with the more expensive fix which i appreciated. Before showing up for the work due to budgeting issues i changed to the lower price solution. He didn't have any problems with this change. He and his other son (not Lucas) came on the day as promised. The funny thing was I didn't know they were there until i heard banging outside! They ripped some of the old roof tiles, installed new flashing and overlay them with some leftover tiles I had laying around. They also caulked around other parts of the chimney. They cleaned up their mess. There were aome storms afterwards and no leak! Thx to Lucas for knowing the importance of the problem and having your father and brother fit me into their schedule. What they did was give me a tentative start date which they said was flexible. Plus they said they wouldn't start any work until they notified me first. What these incompetents did was to sent a text message to a desk phone to say they were starting the next day. I didn't realize until the next day when my tenants told me that a bunch of guys were ripping up the roof! That was 2 months ago and not only was I crazy pissed then, I'm STILL seething. The salesman lied to me and my -ss STILL hurts. They offered me a 10% discount as compensation but I'm still on the hook for 20K for a roof that I DIDN'T want. I would never recommend them. Plus they left garbage and pallets in my yard that after 2 months they still haven't come back to pick up even after several calls to have them come back. Why should they? They got paid and skipped town.
