From the Capitol to the Library mall there were booths set up along the way. Frankly I thought there would be alot more. There were a few musical acts/ buskers too. We showed up a bit early for our time slot, so we understand that we had to wait a few minutes. It wasn't a problem, as it was a wonderful weather day! We were mildly surprised at how expensive the pizzas cost. $15 for a 10" cheese pizza and $16 for a 10" sausage pizza. These prices are too expensive for what you get. My husband was still hungry after eating his sausage pizza. My opinion would be to have the cheese pizza start at $10, then go up for the varius toppings. I also suggest offering a special pizza conconction that you can only get at The Wooden Peel. We've had many wood-fired pizzas previously and found that this main pizza crust was too thin, while the edges were too thick. It almost seemed that the edges were not completely cooked through. I get that this is a new biz, so I will probably check them out again!

The owner is really nice and really invested in her business. We have utilized Slide's catering services for our office Christmas party and she does a fantastic job with catering too.

They can get away with it because it is obvious, based on their menu, they step their sliders up a whole 'nother level. Everything (even the vegetarian options) read so appetizing. The dribbles were making my way to my chin. It would be embarrassing, but I'm sure they see it all the time. Their service was very friendly and efficient. My order was styrofoamed in two minutes. I was in the mood for Italian, but also wanted something spicy to battle my sinuses. I opted for two mix/match sliders and chips combo. The sliders were; "Powerball" - homemade marina-soaked juicy meatball stuffed with gooey mozzarella with deliciously fresh basil leaves floating in the sauce & "Italy on Wisconsin" -- a roma tomato and fresh mozzarella slice topped with the basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Too finish it off, I had to snag the handmade thick-cut potato chips with garlic wasabi! The meatball slider was perfect old school Italian-American with a touch of class stepping it up with basil and perfectly oozing mozzarella. Even better was the incredible "Italy on Wisconsin" - AKA 'Caprese Salad on a Bun"; I never thought that it could work so well, but it was, so fresh and saliva inducing, I wanted more! Of course their buns are perfect (don't say that in the wrong company)! Finally, I finished with the chips. There was a massive mound of perfectly crispy, crunchy and salted real potato-ey goodness. The wasabi sauce was sinus-clearing and delicious -- the garlic was a light undercurrent, but added to its robust flavor. The budget gourmet lunch was only $8.00! It was certainly more satisfying than grabbing a Pop Tart from vending or walking further for a bland sub or a slice of grease-drenched pizza. You gotta have this. I will go as many times as they will return to Science Dr. I'm almost certain that I'll love everything they offer.

I was not sure to just review the carts individually, but like the Madison Farmers Market, I believe the whole collection of vendors is part of the experience. The food carts are all placed on the space between the Library and the University Bookstore. Lunch in an outdoor setting and fantastic people watching, occasionally even music. One of the best days I had last summer was accidentally coming across a mariachi band while hunting for lunch. And I never tire of the food. I can sample a new meal each day without trouble. By the time I go through everything available, a new cart is usually up and running and testing out the waters. The longest lines are always at Buraka, Jamerica, and Sukhothai (when they are there). Which is fine, because I can get lunch quickly at my favorites the Local Stanley or FIB's. FIB's used to serve a meatball sandwich with balls the size of oranges. They've reduced them to the size of golf balls, which makes lunch slightly disappointing but is probably better for my arteries. Be warned, currently the Library Mall has gaping hole across most of it where water main work is being done. And campus construction projects always last a long time, making a crowded space far more crowded.

Classes of UW students have graduated without ever seeing it, and when the weather warms up they can finally enjoy food cart heaven with a lovely water feature view. Lighting is significantly brighter at night now, and the little standing tables they've installed are great for when you want to enjoy your food cart fare without having to balance it on your own lap. In the evenings you might happen across a drum circle, fire dancers, or passionate students gathering for their cause of choice. It's a convenient way to cut through campus, connecting the Memorial Union to Memorial Library and out through to the southeast dorms and State Street. If you've spent any significant amount of time on campus, you've also likely spent a significant amount of time walking through library mall. Looking forward to the grass regrowing as the lawn is a nice spot for catching some midday sunshine!

The decorations are really cute and fun, with big moving statues of different creatures. The experiences are all pretty expensive, so we stuck with arcade games but even that ate up a lot of our money. There is a decent variety of games and lots of prizes to spend your points on. The service was a little sparse, but it was a Tuesday during the day and the employees working were friendly and helpful. Overall a fun place but be prepared to spend a lot of money!

I will say generally the experience was underwhelming but it was about 2 hrs to close on a Saturday night. The place was DEAD empty. Like 20 or less ppl spread out. We first went to the tiki bar to grab drinks and to think about what we wanted to do. There was a sign that said "wait to be seated" but we were going to just grab drinks. Someone greeted us after a few minutes of waiting and said that they had a "wait" mind you the place was EMPTY... I asked if we could just sit at the bar and they kind of hesitated to say go ahead because no one was tending the bar at the moment. We sat at the bar and eventually 3 staff appeared to be working the bar. We ordered drinks - they didn't actually serve drinks in tiki cups so it was just a bar with basic drinks. We walked around to check everything out and decided to just go back to the hotel.

Eager scouts and their beaming parents will hand you a hot brat, homemade kraut, chopped onions, and all the toppings, ready for you to look out over the scenic view of....Phillips Blvd. But hey, it's kind of awesome! You're eating a brat. Next to the Pig "The First Self Service Grocery Store". Which is also next to a Culvers with a plaque commemorating that the first location was established in Sauk City (Whoa!). It's just a very happy Wisconsin feeling.

This is my second time trying their food -- the first was at the Taste of Madison and I had their Jerk wings. This time, I ordered their Happy Jerk Combo. I lunched after 1, so they were out of the stir fry but I didn't care. Paid $9 for jerk pork and chicken over rice and beans, walked it back to my office only to discover the rice was no good. :( I ate some of the jerk meat, and both pork and chicken were severely dry, minimal sauce and flavor. I thought maybe the heat from the meats caused the mushiness in the rice, so I sniffed it and was able to scent a foul odor. My lunch was an absolute fail and all my Hubs had to say was, "That's why we don't go there mon." Ugh. :/ I am giving them one star because the Jerk wings at the Taste were good and the guy working the food cart was friendly. But maybe not friendly enough to know not to serve spoiled food. I just love the convenience of the food cart they have set up on Library Mall during the lunch time hours. In the few times I've had Jamerica I've always ordered the Happy Jerk Combo. It's perfect for the indecisive as it is 1/2 pork and 1/2 chicken with red beans and rice, so there's no need to settle on just one meat. Awesome. What's also great about this dish is how huge it is. Really, it's easily enough to last you two good meals. And these will definitely be gooood meals because Jamerica packs their dishes with Flavor. Capital F. Every time, I leave Jamerica a happy customer not only because the Happy Jerk is delicious, but also because they're always crankin out the ever-optimistic, breezy Bob Marley tunes.
