He had no issues answering my questions or dressing my concerns without being cocky or condescending... something a lot of contractors need to learn these days. I decided to hire him to install my kitchen for my full home remodel. I have zero regrets choosing him for the job. He did an excellent job and he did it right. I really liked his quality of work and his work ethic. I decided to ask him for a couple more estimates for other jobs that still need to be completed. I hired him for those jobs also. Sean's work is top notch at a fair price. Sean knows what he is doing without question. He's honest and has a great deal of pride in his work.... and it shows. He fully honored his contracts and didn't skip on completing any of the work I hired him to do. When he was done for the day he made sure he, and his assistant Zack, cleaned up before they left for the day. I've had several contractors in my house since this project started. There's only two that I would highly recommend. Sean is one of them. The other contractor was the electrician. I still have more work that needs to be done in the future. I trust Sean enough to make sure he will be the contractor I'll call when I'm ready to start getting those jobs completed.

What he did: - Swept…read morefireplace/chimney - Swept wood burning oven - Performed a complete inspection of both chimney and oven - Re-sealed bricks on chimney Mr Cowan was PHENOMENAL. Sure, it wasn't cheap, but I also had a lot of work done to a house that I just bought last month. I know if I hired one of those cheapo $45 guys I would have been ripped off with several additional charges, not to mention subpar work. I wanted an actual mason to clean my chimney, not some random air duct guy. The service was spectacular, and Mr. Cowan only performed services that I needed, nothing optional or frivolous. From the get-go, I could tell that he knew that he was doing. He was able to tell instantly that my fireplace/oven wasn't used in a very long time (which was true, as the previous owners of the house had not used it once in the 12 years that they lived there). He was available to service my chimneys the very next day! I didn't have all the cash up front since my chimney needed re-sealing (I didn't know until he checked), and he allowed me to mail the balance to him -- because he trusts his customers! The best part of my experience was that he gave me a brief world history on the bricks in my fireplace. The bricks were shipped from England 300 years ago when buildings were being knocked down in Europe, and these bricks basically built Philadelphia and South Jersey as we know it today. This means that my fireplace bricks can be from as far back as the 1600s! Some of the bricks were older than others, and some had paint on them that was from before the Revolutionary War. He pointed these bricks out to me, along with the ones that were very old such as the salmon bricks. I thought this was so cool that my fireplace/oven were basically antiques. I would absolutely use him again in a heartbeat. This was my first experience with him, and it definitely won't be my last. I'll make sure to call him again in a couple of years to have my chimney swept. I *HIGHLY* recommend him if you want the job done RIGHT!

We are so please to have found Rittenhouse Handyman. A little backstory: we have a condo in Philly,…read more our son used to live there and now it's a rental. We needed work in a ceiling that had been cut out to do a/c work. The contractor left it as is. Our tenant and us, just let it go, to be fair, but now since he's moving, we had to have the work done. I had emailed and called the handyman that the property manager uses for the entire building. I thought he knew the place and since it was familiar to him, a no brainer to use him. After waiting and leaving several messages, absolutely no response whatsoever. I found Rittenhouse Handyman on Yelp. It was very easy to schedule and appointment. No hassle at all. I sent them a picture of the problem and they sent me a fair estimate. What's really amazing is that they were responsive, easy to schedule an appointment with, and they showed up and did the work as promised. They did the work and they kept their word. Folks, we know how hard it is to find good people that keep their word and stick to it. I'm amazed how easy it was to schedule an appointment. We have two other rentals in the boonies in the Sierra Foothills in California and getting people to call you back and actually show up to do the work is hell. It's literally hit or miss and we have dealt with a lot of bait and switch folks, too. They quote you one price and lo and behold, there's more stuff that needs to be done. Rittenhouse is upfront, fair pricing and it was so easy to pay, too. Thank you Rittenhouse Handyman and special thanks to Melissa for helping us set it up.
