From the very first visit with Optima Dental, I knew this place was different just from the questions asked and the tests done. Dr. Edwards is one of a few dentists that practices Bioesthetics, a word I was not familiar with until meeting him. He took the time to help me understand his use of Bioesthetics and how it could help me. My jaw no longer clicks or pops or causes me pain. The final straw was this past December. My daughter was seen and diagnosed with two cavities, but we were told the soonest they could treat them was June. At the time she wasn't in pain, so I trusted their guidance. Fast forward to now--she was just fitted for Invisalign, and the pressure caused severe pain in the teeth with the cavities. She was crying and in extreme discomfort. I contacted the office explaining the situation and was told they still could not see her any sooner. There was no emergency accommodation, no concern, and no attempt to help. We were simply told to find another dentist. Allowing a child to go six months with multiple cavities and refusing to help when they are in obvious pain is unacceptable. This office showed zero compassion or urgency, and it's clear they do not prioritize their pediatric patients' well-being. I will be pulling my kids from this practice. I would not recommend this office to any parent who expects timely care and concern for their child.

He provides all of the information needed for you and helps you to make a decision on what treatment plan is best including making sure to tell you if it's appropriate to wait and see at next visit. There are iPads in the waiting area for the kids to play on and the dental chairs all have TVs on the ceiling to help keep patients distracted during the cleanings/procedures! His staff are incredibly kind, patient, and caring and honestly was the best/easiest X-ray experience I've ever had! The office is very nice, clean, and up to date with extremely kid friendly decor/color scheme. I highly recommend this office!

They were absolutely wonderful with my 4yo and 2yo (first time for the latter). The staff were welcoming and made my kiddos feel at ease. Both walked out with smiles on their faces. Dr. Salthouse took the time to talk with us and gave us wonderful tips for our kids. We even learned some new things for our own hygiene. I recommend them over other nearby locations. The office cancelled the appointment because I did not confirm by noon the day before--a policy that was never communicated when the appointment was scheduled. The only message I received was sent mid-morning the day before the procedure, giving me less than three hours to respond before their noon cutoff. I'm a working parent, and I don't have access to my phone all day. By the time I saw the message and called back at 12:50 PM, they had already given the appointment to someone else. No attempt to contact my husband, who is listed as a contact. Just cancelled. This is especially concerning for a children's dental office handling sedation procedures and large pre-payments. What's even more troubling is that after several visits, we have never seen the same dentist twice, and I honestly have no idea which dentist was even scheduled to perform my child's dental work. For pediatric dentistry, continuity and trust matter. Between the poor communication, undisclosed policies, and revolving door of dentists, this practice feels more focused on filling appointment slots than providing thoughtful care to children. Time for our family to move on.
