I saw two medical professionals, prior to Jernigan's, but only left feeling discouraged. I started to fear that there was no solution & that I was going to lose my hair all together. I found Jernigan's online & decided to call & make an appointment. When I first walked through the door I was greeted with smiles & hellos. The girls at the front desk were so nice. When I gave my name they knew exactly what I was there for. A young lady, named Natasha, introduced herself to me & took me back for my consultation. Natasha was fabulous! She was extremely professional & put me at ease. Durning the consultation she examined my scalp & gave me her evaluation. She was very informative & gave me a better understanding of my dilemma. She gave me several options that were feasible to me. I went back the next day to see Dr. Koher. He was terrific! He gave me more insight to what was going on & gave me a plan of action. After doing business with Jernigans for close to a year and enduring a host of issues with their associates I'd had enough. Their products are of the poorest quality but the customer service was even worse. They DO NOT back up their products which are very cheaply made and blame the customer rather than their technicians for the myriad of issues that one can and will face. My first contact with this clinic was with one of their representatives. He told me he had to get two hair transplant procedures. This should have been a red flag for me. I had this procedure done in 2016. On follow ups, I mentioned I felt they could have transplanted more, I saw some gaps. I was told, just wait a few more months, for the hair to grow. Fast forward to 2019, and I still have gaps. I contacted them several times asking if they would do a free touch up, and was ignored. For what I paid, I feel they should have done a quick touch up, in between other patients. My advise, do you research, ask lots of questions, and document them. read more

Now that 1 year has passed since my hair transplant therapy treatment, I feel like it is time to leave an honest review to help others make an informed decision. First, I had the procedure when I was 33 years old. I am a male and experienced traditional male pattern baldness since age 25 and had been using Rogaine ever since. I had a receding hairline as well as thinning on the crown. Of all the options, my analysis showed that hair transplant therapy is the most likely procedure to yield the expected results. Short review- I chose Jernigan's because it was a family owned operation that offers more personalized service. The results came out better than I expected and I now have more confidence and no side effects. The results are also permanent. If you can afford it, which is around $10k, you should do it. Long review- I was an ideal candidate. At 33 I was still relatively young. My donor hair (back of the head) was thick and full. I was probably a Type IV on the Norwood scale for baldness. I had realistic expectations. The procedure itself is a bigger deal than you think it is, and also a bigger deal than the doctors make it out to be, so be ready. It's an all day affair of outpatient surgery. They numb your scalp with injections of lidocaine (or similar) periodically throughout the day. They literally cut a flap of skin out of the back of your head and then dice that up to obtain the donor follicles. Then they poke holes in the bald spots of your head and manually insert each follicle into those holes. During the procedure, your scalp will regain its feeling at different times at different sections. Once it starts to hurt somewhere you ask them for more injections in that area, so you are always in this balance of trying to determine how much pain you should endure somewhere before asking for another shot. By the end of the day, you are ready to be done, but don't worry, it is all worth it. The recovery from this procedure is worse than you think too. I drove home from the procedure, but I would recommend getting a ride if you can. The first two days are a little rough, so don't plan on doing anything major. You also want to be careful when you sleep, and follow all of their advice exactly (until the scabs heal over). You will feel strong sensations of pleasure and pain at the same time when you put a bag of frozen corn on your head. You will not want to go in public. In fact, you don't want to go in public for the first week, and after that, only with a hat for the next week or two. Then there is the drainage. After a day or two, all of that liquid from the injections finds its way out by slowly rolling down your face (inside your skin). That rolling takes about a week and a half and it is weird. It drains out in various ways and is otherwise absorbed by your body. Your head will scab over and you want to be careful not to mess with the scabs until they heal over. But then at a certain point they do heal over, so you want to start to get aggressive about getting them off. Be sure to do that when the time is right. Once you get through those first few weeks you will be anxious to see some results, but hang on there trigger, it will take 6 months. You might see some peach fuzz and think that you are special and are seeing results early, but you are not and it too will fall out. You might take daily pictures to track your progress. Everyone does, but it is not worth it. But then after 6 months, you start to see something happening, and you get more optimistic. You will keep getting more and more elated between then and 1 year. You might get some more growth after a year, but you should be happy by then and you will have most of what you are going to get. For me, this has been a game changer and was so worth it. It is a significant time and money investment but the results are permanent and awesome. Of all of the clinics I evaluated, I found Jernigan's to be the natural choice. Dr. Koher is a natural at his profession and in general a down to earth guy. Natasha could not be a better support person or give you more personalized care. I hope that you have as good of an experience as I did with Jernigans if you choose to do it. read more

I had an excellent experience at Jernigan's when I got it cut and colored. The stylist was knowledgeable and helpful. She asked a lot of questions to make sure we found the color I wanted and would look good on me. My favorite part was the shampoo wash. She took her time with this part and it was really nice. She didn't just shampoo and condition my hair, but she also gave my head a short massage to stimulate the follicles. When all was done, my hair was about 15 inches shorter, darker/redder and styled very nicely. The stylist even told me how to get my hair to look the way it did that day. Everyone else in the place was very nice and helpful to me. The girl at the front desk knew who I was and took me right to the room and offered me water and snacks. Extremely disappointed with PRP treatment. I'm been meaning to write this review for a while. I had PRP not once but twice. I don't have anywhere near me that does it so I drove to Raleigh as I found them on the net. The office is extremely dated and quite odd. I tried to look past that as I was hopeful I might achieve good results. The examine room was extremely cluttered and the staff seemed very unorganized. It took 3 assistant and 4 sticks to hit a vein for my blood draw. I also had A cell the first time, which stunk so bad. As I drove 2 hours back home all I could smell was my head. Well, I decided to go back again as Dr. Koehr recommends more than one treatment. Again, 4 needle sticks to get blood. They didn't offer to review my before & after photos. Also, no follow up appointment but I had already decided I wouldn't return. I have since found another doctor to go to. Since I can now compare both experiences, the doctor in Charlotte is heads above Jernigans. This doctor drew the blood himself. His A cell did not stink, he will see me again in 6 months and recommends PRP once a year based on his technique. He also measured the number of hair follicles in a certain area and will count them again at follow up. It's a measurable way to track results. Do not waste your money on Jernigans. ok, so I am at groupon, I need a haircut seeing if I can find a deal, I see a groupon for $12 for a $25 haircut and it's nearby, I click on their link to the company website on the groupon page, no mention of any cutting of hair, the website is all about restoration, laser removal, yadda yadda. I was hoping I could just make an appointment online but the website had me confused, I just need a haircut, they don't mention it on their website yet they have a groupon for a haircut, so I call and a man answers the phone, I tell him I am confused, I need a haircut, groupon ad, do they cut hair? he puts me on hold. I probably should have backed away right then, he comes back, well, yeah, he wasn't sure if their groupon expired. I never asked that, I could have answered it for him, I want to know do you cut hair? yes, we offer a lot of services and it's one of them, but it's not on our website. can I get an appt today?
