Buyer beware. If you like a stylist who charges you up front, expects you to be on time or else…read morethere is a fee--but, they are allowed to start 45 minutes late, while rotating though multiple appointments, taking personal calls and meal breaks--then, perhaps this is the stylist fo you. However, for me--at about $1500 for the service, I expected so much more! Here is the rundown. 1. Paid $35 for a consultation, where I was very specific about what I wanted and was assured that it could be delivered. That was a very natural, versatile sew-in, with the color exactly matching my own 2. During consolation, I was assured this would be an amazing experience and I would walk out completely satisfied. So, I paid almost $1500, which was required in-full, up-front 3. Received confirmation, along with my appointment time and a note confirming what we had discussed 4. Two days before my appointment, I was informed that the custom hair ordered was delayed--no problem, I totally understand. 5. The day before my appointment, I was given an update. Upon which I recommended that we just cancel and plan for when I get back from my work travel. "The assistant" not the stylist insisted that all would be OK and even called me to discuss such and encouraged me to keep the appointment. 6. The day of my appointment, I was notified that the hair arrived. My appointment was moved from 11AM to 3PM--given the stylist time to do the color 7. I arrived to my appointment ON TIME as her site insists. However, I did not get called back to get my hair washed until 3:45 and did not get into her chair until around 7PM 8. While at the wash bowl, the stylish did a flyby with the hair, which was still wet--so, of course, wet hair looks dark until it is blown out or dry 9. Important note--there is very low lighting in the salon, so that adds to the inability to clearly see things until you get into better lighting 10. She quickly sewed the hair in, not taking the time to show me how things were/were not blending, etc. It was not until I left her salon--which was during 8:30PM because she was moving between several clients, personal calls and meal breaks 11. I immediately text her when I got into proper lighting. She said she would schedule time with me to discuss options, which I was open to. But, I asked her to first send me an itemized receipt of the services she provided so I could see exactly what I had paid for 12. Adding insult to injury, I found out that she did not use the custom/raw bundles ordered--instead, she used some cheap hair from the beauty supply--which explains why it was knotting and shedding 13. Also, the style was not versatile at all--it was super bulky in the front ana there was no way I was gonna be able to pull it into any type of ponytail or updo. 14. She refused to send that receipt, she stopped responding to my text messages, and she never called. For added context, it is important to note that I am very particular about my hair and I made this clear to her. I also shared with her the I have never had this done, so I am expecting her to step me through everything and to ensure that my hair looks completely natural. I have beautiful salt & pepper hair--you will see in the pictures that she installed some weird black, blonde & brown hair. But, here is how God works--just happens that we know someone in common. That person told her a few key things that she ignored: 1. Custom gray cannot be done in a matter a few hours and it requires a certain level of skill. She sold herself to me on being able to do this color and it is just not the case 2. This common friend also co-signed what I had already stated--that I am particular about my hair and she further stated that sometimes you just have to admit that the job cannot be done. Now... here we are. For me, this is a complete misrepresentation and simply a money grab--that is why she refused to provide an itemized receipt. So, again--IF you like paying $1500 to be seen late and still walk away with a service that does not meet with what you were promised--then this is the place for you. There was NOTHING exceptional about this experience. Never again. Picture of my beautiful color below alongside the horrible job she did. Worst timing EVER! And, she is refusing to refund any of my money,

The salon is located inside with other salon suites. The suite was nicely decorated and clean. There was a bit of a wait because there was someone there who was still being serviced. She worked with me in I had the shampooing and conditioning treatments. There was a bit of confusion with the service I booked, which was a shampoo, condition, blow-dry, and two basic cornrows. Betty quickly cleared that up and did exactly what I asked. Betty is very professional and she's experienced in the industry. I appreciated the level of customer service I received here. I'm not 100% sold that this salon is the best fit. The time I spent here was more time than what I expected for the services I booked. The experience was an overall 4-star for the professionalism and courtesy of the salon owner Betty, and the price point is reasonable. Betty gave me some hair growth cream to strengthen the parameters of my hairline and hopefully help with new hair growth. I feel like I've seen some progress there. The products used here are top tier and I'm confident that most will be satisfied with the service.

Then all that went away after I came here. Cut was wrong and was too short for the style I had showed her that I wanted, edges not done, and she wanted me to leave before she had even finished my hair. She acted like she was rushing and like she knew what was best for me and not taking what I wanted into account even though I showed her pictures of previous cuts I've had on what I like. She did not take care of me and now I have to find a new stylist and wait in the meantime for my hair to grow a bit more before i let someone else touch my head. I took pictures throughout the process but I will not return because I know the difference between a good stylist and one that just wants your money. The only reason I'm not giving her a one star review is because I like the color. When stylists mess up your hair I encourage people to always speak out and put it in the review because I went off all these positive reviews thinking she was going to take care of me and that was not the case.

I am honestly still in shock over what happened at GG's Hair Styling in Apex, and after having time…read moreto process the experience, I feel like I need to warn others. I booked appointments for my daughter and myself five days in advance. I spoke with Nick and was very clear that I have long, very thick, naturally red hair. I scheduled a haircut, complete color, blowout and style, and my daughter was scheduled for a cut and highlights. We were getting ready to leave for vacation, and I took the day off work specifically so we could get our hair done beforehand. I explained this and was assured they would "make it work." When we arrived, Hannah started my hair. I specifically asked to have about 5-6 inches taken off. Instead, more than 10 inches was cut off. Even then, I was unbelievably calm about it. I didn't get angry or make a scene. I basically said, "It's okay, it's just hair." Looking back, I think I was so caught off guard that I hadn't even processed what had happened yet. But what happened next is what I truly cannot believe. AFTER more than 10 inches of my hair had already been cut off, I was told they didn't have enough time or enough color/product to complete my color -- AND they didn't even have enough time to finish the haircut they had already started. At that point, my hair had basically been chopped off and was extremely choppy, uneven and obviously unfinished. This wasn't about not having time for a blowout or style. My actual haircut was not finished. Their solution was for me to leave the salon looking like that and come back later that evening so they could finish cutting and styling my hair. Then I was offered the option of coloring half of my hair that day and coming back the following week to color the other half. I am honestly still trying to understand how any of that was considered an acceptable solution. If they didn't have enough time or product to complete my appointment, I should have been told that before anyone touched my hair, not after more than 10 inches had already been cut off. Nick knew when the appointment was booked that my hair was long and extremely thick. Had I simply been told they couldn't accommodate the services I requested, I would have understood and gone somewhere else. Instead, I trusted them. I went in excited to have my hair done before vacation and left without the complete haircut, color, blowout and style I had scheduled, with an unfinished, choppy haircut, and with more than 10 inches of my hair gone when I had only asked for 5-6 inches. The more I look at my hair and process how this was handled, the more shocked and upset I become. I genuinely cannot understand how anyone at a professional salon could think it was acceptable to cut that much of a client's hair off and THEN tell her they didn't even have time to finish the haircut. I was patient, calm and understanding throughout the situation. Unfortunately, I feel like my willingness to be understanding was taken advantage of rather than appreciated. I absolutely intend to share my experience so other people understand exactly what happened here and can make an informed decision before trusting this salon with their hair. Once more than 10 inches of your hair has been cut off, there is no putting it back. I am still in disbelief that this happened. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend GG's Hair Styling in Apex, and I would strongly caution anyone considering going there -- I will be filing a complaint with the state board. What happened to me today was unacceptable.
