Raj, who runs the Trumbull and North Haven center is very easy to work with as well. I like that they offer support classes but also classes for enrichment. My son, who's a bit mite advanced in both subjects, is no longer feeling unchallenged in school because he takes these classes in between! MATH: With today's changing times where elementary and middle schools are leaning toward the common core German method of teaching (like the more well known and reputable universities in our country!) I think a program like this is going to be critical to helping our children understand the fundamentals of math. Schools today may not be able to teach both with an aggressive/limited school schedule unlike foreign countries who attend school year round and have the proper time. I have already found my son living to solve math problems and testing himself on skills. Unprompted! READING: great to learn handwriting, reading technique. My son has always loved books but now I find he's also loves writing things for me to read. It's awesome. We also discovered in school he is a speed reader and enjoys long novels. During the test, I was in the left-hand lane when he told me to "go right." I asked for clarification since that instruction didn't match where I was on the road, but he repeated "go right" several times. So I followed his direction exactly as stated, even though I knew it wasn't correct, because he insisted multiplee times! Afterward, instead of acknowledging the confusion, he made comments about my disabilities and told me to "stop making excuses" and "you have a lot of diseases all of a sudden" when literally all I said was that I have dyslexia & Autism and need his instructions to be clearer... I wouldn't be as upset about failing if it were because of my OWN mistake, but in this case, the error happened because of unclear and inconsistent instructions from the instructor. So Long story short, he told me to cut across lanes and cars to make a right turn instead of letting me take the left and correct it. When I asked for clarification multiple times, he got irritated and repeated "go right," so I did, and then he failed me for following his OWN instructions.

I'm amazed how well she is reading all her assignments. My 4th grader is also gaining her math understanding and reading comprehension and confidence! - I can tell the program is helping. (I would know, I struggled through the few months of Covid-19 homeschooling and I know where my kids were academically). This place has a good program, good tutors, very diverse. While we were nervous to be in a new space/larger setting, it was the right move for our family due to the expanded schedule and consistent availability. It's clear that both kids are cared for, happy, comfortable, and learning! Our older one is increasingly ready for kindergarten, evident from our new elementary school meet-and-greet where summer goals were discussed and our kid was well past the shared milestones. Our soon-to-be two year old is constantly recognizing letters, shapes, numbers, and colors. To the best of their ability, the teachers have helped us continue exposing our kids to basic terms in Spanish. The administrators and primary teachers are pretty communicative via the app and in person, very receptive to all my questions and suggestions. They welcome parental engagement (I came in as a classroom reader/activity leader for both my kids' classrooms during Latine Heritage Month). A few months ago, families were invited to sign up for teacher phone call slots to discuss each kids' experiences, milestones, interests, concerns, etc. When behavioral concerns arise, they're addressed in a timely manner and they discuss with us next steps/support our family methods and values where appropriate. Balanced meals and snacks are provided, which is a big help to our schedule - our kids tend to eat all/most of the food, there have been no nutritional concerns. Overall, this place opened up at the right time for our family and we're grateful for the relationships formed!
