Maleny has many breakfast and lunch cafes, but this is one of relatively few options for dinner. An odd and very Australian arrangement, this open pizzeria operates separately but in the same space as a rather utilitarian neighborhood bar.
The pizza menu is set pricing with one (high) price for each size of pizza; to compete with the fancier pizzas the basic options have been jazzed up with various greens and such (so there's no plain pizza). They also do offer vegan and gluten-free. They have no website, but their takeout business by phone was fairly busy, and the rushed and somewhat haphazard food preparation did not inspire much confidence for me. That being said, the pizza that resulted certainly tasted fresh, and the woodfired crust had a bit of char to it. All in all, I got the sense that this was the Taste of Maleny as it were, but given the drawbacks I was only just satisfied. read more
