She sounded like she was knowledgeable and had been in the industry for years along with owning her own business back in Chicago. So I booked a trial with her. She talks about how she works out of her studio (I'm thinking its like a salon studio). The day of the trial, I showed up to what seems to be her apartment. I still went through with it as I already had hair trials before at other salons and it did not work out so I was on a time crunch. My hair trial was over 2 hours which is fine and the hair turned out good so I ended up booking with her. FYI I wanted the trendy hollywood look but more soft. We went over timeline and communicated through out and up until the wedding day. It its partly my fault for agreeing to a 6AM call to do my hair but then again I am not the professional so I wouldn't know that as the bride I should have gotten my hair done a few hours before arriving to the venue. She came on time to the hotel and started on my hair. It only took her again 2 hours to do. So she finish roughly around 8 AM. So for the rest of the time I got my make up done, got ready, did get ready photos and headed out to the venue but between all of that my hair had already fallen. It was humid that day so as a professional I would think she would recommend to do my hair later so that it could hold. I think what it was is she double booked that day and since she was only working on me and her partner working on the girls, she can book me then go to her other wedding party that same day. Which I think is strange as you would think she would want to focus on the bride and make sure everything goes as smoothly. When I arrived at the venue to do first look etc. She came to do "touch up" after her other wedding party gig which I appreciate I guess. I felt like she made my hair worst but was also interrupting our photo session. She kept on trying to take pictures of me when my photographer was trying to do her job. She stepped on my husband best man glasses and broke it that was in the grass cause we were taking photos outside and she wasn't watching where she was walking, it was just a hot mess. To do all of that and not post one picture of my hair on her IG is crazy but I didn't care cause it was not up to standard anyways. I just felt like there was lack of professionalism, sense of direction and I'm sure I'm missing out on more details but for the money I paid I was not happy with the results on my weddin day (the most important day) and the kicker is she never followed up with me after the wedding like my other vendors did. That just tells you alot. I ended up paying it total of $1000 (including trial with tip). The photo attached is our first dance! The reception was just getting started but my hair was already frizzy and close to straight.

My initial communications with Edra was a delight; very responsive. I had mentioned to her, that I had a disastrous hair trial, and she had assured me she knew exactly what I was looking for. I paid $180 for the trial. Everything was great, until the trial. You know when you just see red flags, but you avoid and think you are just overthinking it? I have very easy hair: long and straight. I had asked for nice curls and a braid on the side. Easy, right? She started with teasing my hair at the scalp of my head, and she said it's so the hair would stay. Though, I was thinking this is going to be hell the next day in trying to brush it out. She curled my hair, then brushed it which ended up separating the hair. When we got to the braid, she did a fishtail but I told her it looked loose. So, she ended up braiding it, but it was still loose. It looked like someone just twisted it and tucked it in. I could have done it. She said she didn't have long bobby pins?? How do you not have a ton of bobby pins for a hair stylist? Before leaving her place, she insisted I make a deposit of $250. She didn't even say, see how it feels the whole day and let me know. She really wanted my $250. Well, my fault for paying it even though I was not certain, though was hopeful it will stay well throughout the night. Note, I did not sign or have a contract at this point. Boy, I was wrong. I curl my hair everyday and it just looked like my normal look. I was disappointed because of course you pay a lot of money hoping to look your best. So, I emailed her letting her know I didn't want to move forward and would like my $250 back. I was hoping she would be understanding knowing what happened at my first trial. She refused and said, it was on her contract. I said, I didn't have your contract when I gave you my $250. She tried to school me and say you know when you purchase goods, that's how it works. I said, 'no goods were purchased and I'm sure you did not have to turn down any business for the 4 days you had to hold my date'...so it only made sense. I told her I would let people know as to how she operates her business, and she used the words 'blackmail & slander', and had my emails and will use her lawyer. Everything on here is the truth, and just letting you all know how she operates her business. And by the way, not sure why the address says Newbury Street, because I was in an apartment in Foxboro?!
