I'd recommend a stay here to experience the history of Ouray.

A tent keeps out the mosquitoes and cools off at night instantly. This condo was warm in the night even with the screen-less balcony door wide open with a fan blowing *enter mosquitoes and cigarette smoke all night*. I understand they didn't design these places with summers in mind, but come on. A $300 portable AC unit would do the trick. We ended up paying about $250/night for this place. Complete rip off. Oh and some outlets and light bulbs didn't work. Reviews from at least a year about on booking.com say the same thing. Hasn't been fixed. Whatever entity is managing this property is getting away with a borderline scam. Purgatory needs to stop booking this place. Especially during the summer.

We were here over Fourth of July and I want to come back every year now. Our room was just perfect for my husband and I. Parking was easy and the room was clean. They had games outside on the grass for everyone to play. The kids staying there really enjoyed those. I even saw guest sitting outside in their chairs, reading books, and enjoying the scenery. It was also a very quick walk to the Main Street in town. Only a block away. This place will hold a place in my heart forever.

We were playing cards when he arrived and he actively chatted about games with us all the while preparing our food from scratch in our kitchen. He never missed a beat. I really appreciated his ability to just fit into our space. It made everyone comfortable and excited about the meal. Chef Bud is clearly an expert in his field. He flawlessly explained all the recipes, going so far to even tell us where the cheeses or meats originated from. He accommodated allergies we had (dairy and fish). Prior to coming to our house, he provided wine recommendations that would pair well with our menu selections. Each meal was visually mouthwatering and while he has many entrees to pick from, clearly his beef tenderloin is a 5 star Michelin entree! We just couldn't get enough!!! When I went on and on about the leeks he offered the recipe to me. I especially appreciated that. He was polite and cheerful through the whole experience and visited with us like we were family. But make no mistake, he clearly has skills and knows his way around in the kitchen. He and Hazel clearly have a routine setting up, preparing and cleaning up everything; they even started the dish washer. I would highly recommend Chef Bud for any occasion! You will not be disappointed!!!
