Alas, it is not free anymore if you make a purchase, but the prices are still reasonable ($60 for full face, $30 for one feature, $90 for total glam). Most recently, I had Domonic do my eye makeup before a photoshoot. It was like a mini makeup lesson, he explained what works best for my eyes and gave some tips and instructions. In about half an hour he did eye shadow, brows and applied false lashes (you have to buy them from the store, you aren't allowed to bring your own lashes from home). The displays are always clean and well organized. I find it less chaotic compared to the Eaton Centre location for sure.

While there, I scheduled an appointment for a facial, and explained that I would be back in Toronto and spoke to the facialist at length about what we would do on that appointment. I left my CC to secure the appt. I received a text confirmation AND email confirmation as well as a form to fill out prior to the appointment as well as a note that cancellations less than 24 hours prior to appt would result in being charged for the cost of the appt. I have no issue with this. Today on March 3, less than one hour before my confirmed appointment I got a call from Gee Beauty explaining they needed to cancel the appointment, with no reason, couldn't offer a new rescheduled appointment, didn't offer an alternative time, or day and when I questioned why and how they can do this but charge their customers when they cancel- the person hung up on me. I called back twice and my calls went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail- no reply, I then called later the same day and Sarah picked up, I explained the situation and asked about the poor service and she hung up on me. So AVOID GEE BEAUTY - a once amazing, customer centric family run business is now being run by a bunch of ignorant, deplorable, rude and entitled kids that hang up on clients. Take your $300 and spend it anywhere else for a facial. NO one deserves to be treated like that.

Let me tell you why.. When I had my first P&S experience, I was dealing with really bad cystic acne. I've always had acne and hit a very rough patch (no pun intended) as an adult.. it was really bad for me. Most of my adult acne would be around my jaw and chin line, and would often leaving scarring and significant discoloration. I was living in Seattle and had started seeing a dermatologist who recommended a oral medication that would totally dry out my skin, along with bringing a host of other serious side effects. I didn't really feel good about taking such a heavy duty medication, but I was also at my wits end with my skin. That's when I found P&S. My very first P&S facial was a basic version plus an add on of the sea salt microdermabrasion. I was also introduced to the power of face oils. I cannot tell you how amazing my skin looked and felt after that first visit. Plus my facialist taught me so much.. like how drying out my skin actually intensified my acne by making my skin go into overdrive with oil production that ended up clogging my pores and hence contributing to cystic acne. Ugh!! P&S also introduced me to a number of amazing skin care products that have become part of my routine.. some of my favorites are the face oils for skin challenges with rosacea and acne, the black mud and propolis creams, the vitamin C and algae serums, a pumpkin exfoliating mask, and the rosehip oil. I LOVE all these!! And since that very first P&S visit all those years ago, I've been a faithful customer. Every time I'm home (I still live in Seattle and get home a few times a year to visit my folks), a visit to P&S is a must!! I typically go to the King Street spa - the ladies there have been awesome! But just a few months ago they opened a Mississauga location and I'm in heaven!! My folks live in Lorne Park (community in Mississauga) and this newest P&S location is literally 10-12 minutes away. No more fighting traffic to get downtown and then having to figure out parking and the traffic on the return trip - yaayyy!!! The ladies in the Mississauga location are wonderful!! Friendly, informative and very down to earth. Both of my two services since they opened have been amazing, and I've been really happy with my product purchases! The manicurist's behavior was appalling and the overall manicure sub-par (see photos below for the hack job on my cuticles and the overall streaky and messy colour). Will have to visit either of my two tried-and-true nail salons in the east end to fix this one. I usually write more detailed reviews. This was my third attempt at it. I'm beyond angry about this experience and nothing I wrote seemed appropriate, so there you have it.

After I posted my review (you can see my previous review below) the owner of the salon emailed me directly. Not only did she apologize, but she explained things (why they've been short staffed, why it's been hard to get in touch, etc), without trying to excuse them and then she laid out her plan of solutions. It really was the definition of how to win back a customer. I went back today and couldn't have had a better experience. Big props to the young woman running this bustling business- a one-woman show- with integrity and respect. I booked my appointment online, which was very quick and easy. The staff were all friendly and incredibly attentive. All my previous issues seem to be a distant memory. I will definitely be going back. My previous review: Cute interior, good location, but poor customer service and a lack of communication between the employees. I've been a few times, hoping once I got into their grove, things would improve. I can't even count the number of unreturned voicemails I've left. Literally a week will go by and my voicemail (during business hours because the phone goes unanswered regularly) will never be returned. I haven't found any of the staff particularly friendly. There's a candy bar at the front and a coffee machine but I've never seen anyone be offered a drink. The nail services themselves are good. I think it would be fun for a bachelorette party or a group of girls since you could take over and make it what you want.
