This farm is run by family and they work about 90 hours per week to provide their customers, farm fresh produce, grass fed beef, pigs and chickens. They also sell flowers and ferns and home made preserves-strawberry is my favorite! It's great to know where your meat comes from and now, I will do my best to support my local farm! Go visit them and bring the kiddos-so they will know where their food comes from and how important of a job farmers have! He's tried jerky from all over. After each time, his response is "it's no Mingua's". He finally gave up trying and stocks up on Mingua when he goes on the road. It comes in several flavors, but we prefer the spiciest version. I'm usually not a spicy food fan, but the flavor packed in this version defies the odds of me devouring an entire bag at one sitting. I'm pretty sure that I could still devour an entire bag, even if it weren't seasoned though. The texture is life!! It's almost unexplainable. Not chewy, not crunchy, but perfectly textured in every way.

Winchester is full of gems, and this so happens to be one of them. I found it on Facebook and Mom and I headed over on a Saturday morning. I wish I hadn't went grocery shopping the night before because a lot of the items that I bought at the grocery were available here too. I guess that's the bad thing about coming to a Farmers Market on a spur of the moment. Note to self, make sure that I don't go grocery shopping before coming here. Items like cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, etc were all items that I spotted and would've snagged. Instead, I walked away with a few tomato plants. Yes, I know you're surprised... I'm growing tomatoes. The locals were socializing and I could totally sense that a lot people come here as a social thing in addition to scoring local homegrown goods.

You crossed a small bridge over a creek to go to the orchard. They had a cider operation that was not in operation yet. This was a great day driving in the country with a beautiful butterfly field orchard as a welcome surprise!

The workers are normally friendly and its never crowded. Love that part about it. They usually have a small section of clearance/sale items. Who doesn't like cheaper booze? This is a small little shop with very little room for moving around. It is always clean and uncluttered. So save yourself a trip to Lexington and stop in here next time you are needing some juice. :D
