Great experience; Kyle went the extra mile!…read more We hired East Van Amusements for an anniversary celebration -- we were doing a retro booth. Kyle was extremely responsive, with the most helpful responses from the four or five companies I contacted, as well as providing easy access to photos of equipment. Kyle was super easy to work with, he came in advance to check out the location, arrived on time for delivery and pickup, did not need help from us in getting anything in, and was extremely helpful and flexible in getting everything set up. It all worked perfectly, and guests were very complimentary. The prices were reasonable, and Kyle went the extra mile of bringing a few extra decorations which really helped our little retro arcade display shine. Highly recommended!

I was looking for a singing telegram and when I first came across their page, I thought it was only…read moresuperheroes and fairytale princesses for kids' parties. Au contraire! I found a little blurb about the "singagrams" starting at a decent price so I called for more info. Cassandra picked up and was very happy and perky when she answered - my whole background is customer service and too many places don't get how important that is and what an impression that makes. I liked her right away. While the phone rang I was thinking I wanted a clown or gorilla, something funny and ridiculous and wasn't sure what I could use from these guys. Right when we started talking I realized a random Batman appearance would be hilarious - especially when she said he was a professional actor AND singer and would do the voice. OMG...THIS GUY. Let me tell you, he is a STAR and should be friggin' famous. He NAILED IT. You know someone has a natural talent when they put their all into what they do and has a natural charm. He did a phenomenal job mortifying her with his over-the-top entrance just as I'd hoped, gave her the balloon, card and rose, sang Happy Birthday and danced/sang to what I said was her "theme song" Milkshake . She almost couldn't breathe she was laughing so much. He took pictures and when they found out we both had kids, he did baby shark and a special video for our sons. They even did videos for us, including the Batman theme song LOL! I'm telling you, their singing telegram section should be more featured. This was shockingly way above and beyond what I expected, thoughtful, professional, friendly and fun and considering the manager called a meeting so everyone would be there to enjoy the spectacle, I HIGHLY recommend hiring Out of the Rain and embarrassing your family or friends at work (with company permission of course) giving them a great, special surprise they won't forget. I can't thank your company enough, our faces still hurt from smiling.

Stuck around as my youngest was attending a birthday party this afternoon from 1-3:30…read more Cloris was my favourite staffer and go-to gal for things like an extra bin for overflow birthday presents, cups for water (and she brought me a stack which I appreciated as forward-thinking because I could leave them for the other parents in our group too), and she was extra patient with my kid when he was choosing a prize with his tickets. For the most part, I really like the systems here that made the party run fairly smoothly. Our party host staffer (didn't catch her name but she had the coolest purple shoes) was super helpful in distributing food, assisting with cake cutting, refilling pitchers, quickly cleaning up after spills and proactively dealing with cupcake leftovers being put in the fridge. Three things I'd maybe suggest could run differently: 1) have coloured wristbands assigned to party rooms so that you can tell instantly who belongs to your party group. Like at one point, we had a random little girl asking for tokens from our party host, and then a little boy just sat himself down at our party table eating food and blending in until our host mom said, "Who is this kid??" And then a minute later his mom found him! The parents thought it was hilarious. The staff also have neon shirts so maybe you can match party host to wristband colours. If this system already exists, I didn't notice and only thought of it now. 2) For bumper car passes and tokens, it would be good if birthday party kids got an allotment with their socks at the start when you sign in at the front desk. The less that parent hosts have to worry about, the better. The thing where each kid signs in and chooses hot dog or pizza is fantastic. Our host mom thought she'd have to take care of that and was relieved not to. 3) For saying goodbye and around retrieving their shoes, that could be the time and location that party hosts can give out their goodie bags. It's just a little awkward that there's no specific place to do that. I appreciated not having to sign a waiver but that's probably not the greatest for the establishment's purposes. I also appreciated not having to pay entry fee as an adult even though I was prepared to pay. But then again, encouraging parents to stay without charging them means they're okay with waiting around for their kid, being around to supervise as opposed to dropping off and leaving, and like one parent I saw, will buy food. Overall, the place seemed clean and with good air flow. The play area is large and there was a garage door open so I felt safe enough not to have to wear a mask which I really liked. The party rooms are large with high ceilings. I usually wear a mask in the classroom because of a low ceiling. It was about half full and there was lots of space for parents to gather at tables and hang out to wait for their kids. I don't know that I'd be back on my own because my oldest might feel too old for the climbing part, but the youngest had a wonderful time.
