My son was on a 4th floor apartment the furthest you could be from any door with a move to another apartment complex. I closed my apple watch steps and workout ring more than TWICE today if that gives you any idea... Jordan, Pierce and Kyle have to be the hardest working AND the darn nicest movers in the entire universe. Not one thing was broken, not one wall or piece of furniture was scratched. And they were so kind and cheerful- like how in the tarnation could anyone be so polite and happy while lifting heavy yhings in sweltering Columbia heat all freaking day?? And yet- they absolutely were. We ended up hiring these guys after our original move in date was botched and it was honestly a blessing in disguise. If you need anything moved- call them. We spent the evening cleaning and unpacking and I wished I could have kept those boys with us. They are THAT good! I owe the friend who recommended them a drink, or maybe a kidney or something if they ever need one because that was hands down the best recommendation I have ever been given! #bestmoversever #gamecockmovers #junioryearloading

They lost all the pieces to my 3 dresser mirrors, they had them mixed up with the wrong dressers and time was ticking. They left some furniture peices at the loading address so they couldn't install 1 set. They were nice young men but they did not have the strength to take some of my furniture upstairs. They really struggled. When reinstalling some of the furniture pieces, they were confused on how to put them back together. I called the manager and told him my concerns that these guys may need one other person. But he said he would have to charge me, instead of just satisfying the customer. It got very frustrating for me as a customer. I will never hire these guys again!

Rugs, coats and jackets, bathroom items, laundry room, under kitchen sink, toys, decorative items, baskets with blankets, etc were all left behind. They claimed to have come back to move the what they could not fit in the truck, but only brought some. All of the items listed above were left behind. We told them that we would remove the children's art but NONE of the wall hangings, photos, or art were moved. They came back and got a few items but def. not all. A personal visit was made by the business owner for estimate (calculate time and truck size). The time was miscalculated and the truck size was miscalculated. I had just had knee replacement surgery and son in law has a spinal cord injury. We still spent most of the next day packing and moving what we paid TopNotch $1300.00 to pack and move. We did communicate and the owner stated that they only left behind paint and children's art, which is simply not true.

Top-Notch Moving & Junk Removal - $6,500 in Damages, Ghosting, and Identity Fraud…read more I hired Vidal Jones, owner of "Top-Notch Moving & Junk Removal," and the experience was disastrous. He caused over $6,500 in damages, forged my signature on an insurance release, and submitted a fraudulent cashier's check as proof he paid me (after initially claiming I refused payment). While positive reviews may appear on other platforms, I believe many are fabricated or written by his acquaintances. Yelp, for instance, hides more reviews than it displays, which is highly unusual. One of the hidden reviews is from the owner himself--using his real name, which I've highlighted in the attached photos. From start to finish, the service was unacceptable and continues to cause issues, even months later in October: * The team arrived in a rented U-Haul accompanied by two children as "staff." * After working for only three hours, Vidal announced a 30-minute break, returning with just one child (the other had to go home to mom). * They repeatedly dropped large furniture, resulting in significant damage. * He falsely claimed they had taken measures to protect the TV, which was destroyed (fortunately, we moved the second TV ourselves). * Metal bedposts were carelessly thrown into a container with framed photos, shattering them. Vidal later blamed me, despite the fact that his team had taken the container without consulting me. * Despite labeling all items, his team constantly asked for guidance on where to place boxes, adding unnecessary stress. * The team was slow and inefficient, even leaving large storage containers in the middle of rooms, insisting those areas were "finished." * After damaging our items, Vidal ghosted me when I tried to follow up on repairs and replacements. I eventually had to involve Thumbtack to intervene. * When I requested insurance information, Vidal pretended to be someone else ("Sam") over the phone, hung up, and changed his phone number multiple times during our interactions. * After I spent hours compiling insurance documents (which, frustratingly, reimbursed by weight--so an $800 TV was compensated for just $100), he ghosted me again. * Months later, he falsely claimed I had refused the insurance payment and provided "proof" in the form of a forged release with my fake signature and a counterfeit cashier's check, which the bank laughed at - it was just a personal check with "cashier's check" photoshopped in. I have thorough documentation of everything, including a video of Vidal Jones himself promising to repair or reimburse us for the damages. For context, I had a positive moving experience with the same household items a year prior, completed by another moving company, with no issues. Unfortunately, "Top-Notch" did not meet even basic standards, and we ended up moving kitchen and bathroom items ourselves. Despite this ordeal, I paid Vidal Jones in full (over $1,000) because I was too stressed and eager to have him out of my home. I strongly advise against using "Top-Notch Moving & Junk Removal." If you do, ensure you have a means to recover your payment, as this company has demonstrated untrustworthy and unethical behavior. Note: Thumbtack has since removed "Top-Notch" from their platform due to violations of their service provider code of conduct.

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

Like always, as soon as we get there we head to the restaurant. I always get the same thing, Swedish Meatballs. Can't beat how good they are. My grandkids love them too. My son had a Caesar salad which he said was very good and fresh, and my husband had a chicken thigh with black beans and rice and fried plantains. (We were very surprised to see a meal that you would normally see in a Florida IKEA up here in Charlotte North Carolina. I have to admit it tasted very good.) We hit the bathrooms afterwards, spotlessly clean considering how busy it was, and then we went shopping. I will say that there was quite a few open and empty spaces on the second floor in the furniture department. I'm not sure if they were re-organizing or had literally sold out after the holidays. Good thing though, we found what we were looking for things to the help of workers who know the place better than we do and advised us which shortcuts to use. All the workers we spoke to were super friendly and helpful. The value was good as always, IKEA might be slightly higher priced than other places but I have a few pieces in my house that are almost 30 years old and still in excellent condition. It was easier to get here than we thought and we really enjoyed our day here. We can't wait to go back.
