Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

I was really the next in line for a long time and it took forever and then I couldn't even return the item as they change their policy with out my notice on plants. Also for checking out after purchasing stuff the line was so long and it was very confusing. They didn't have any of the self checkouts open. I finally got to the front of the line and the cashier went away on a break so I had to wait longer. I felt like there's a lot of workers but they were just not on the cashier so it was just a slow process.

I usually love Ollie's, but unfortunately, this one trip kind of missed the mark. The store was an…read moreabsolute wreck and looked like a bomb went off inside it. On one aisle, there were so many items shoved onto the shelves that you couldn't even tell what they were, and it would have been hopeless to try and sort through them to find one that you liked. In another area of the store, there were just ripped boxes placed on top of a shelf, and again, you couldn't even tell what the merchandise was, and it looked very disorganized. In the rug and carpet section, it was perhaps the most disorganized that I've ever seen a store be, and there was even a carpet sticking out into the aisle, making it impossible to pass through. I know that you don't really go to Ollie's for an organized and aesthetically pleasing shopping experience, but this one trip was a little too excessive. Luckily, this was the first time that this has happened to me at this Ollie's, so I'm hoping that it was just a one-time thing, and I'll still be back in the future.

NOTE: When I checked out, I signed up for the rewards program to get 15% off my purchase.....but found out it was for my NEXT purchase, AFTER I go online and VERIFY that she nice lady checking me out entered my information correctly. Better stuff than a known competitor. Will be back!

This store has almost every kitchen gadget that you can imagine. They have a couple of walls full of all sorts of kitchen gadgets. One thing really cool about this place is buying appliances. If you don't like the appliance that you've bought.... even if you've already used it several times ....YOU CAN BRING IT BACK AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!! I think that's an awesome thing they offer. I just recently started juicing and I wasn't sure which juicer I wanted. It was great buying it from Bed Bath and Beyond, because I had the security of knowing that if I messed up on my selection... I could try something else. Their staff is always helpful too. They always ask if they can help you find what you need. I like getting service in stores. Kinda rare there days. They sell kitchen stuff, bedroom stuff, bathroom stuff, pictures, rugs, candles, Yankee candles, picture frames.... AND all those "As seen on TV" items. I can spend at least an hour every time I come in just looking at all the cool things they have. Also the store almost always has a 20% off coupon going on which helps a lot .... Especially competing with Target next door. This is a great store to come to when shopping for yourself or others. It's also a place that a lot of couples getting married register at. I will continue to come here. It's a great place to buy yourself stuff and a great place to buy gifts. :)
