The size consistency across their brands is also a bit challenging, so either reading the online reviews of clothing, or trying it on in person is a must. I do love most of products I have gotten at the stores, but I always feel that I need to critically appraise each item before I buy it. The SLO store is smaller than the other two "neighborhood" stores in Santa Barbara and Carmel, and the merchandise seems to be geared more toward a college crowd. Since half the populace here is in college, this may be appropriate. My recent visit turned up some denim togs suitable for students, and some brightly colored small housewares.
