I went here three times since they had good reviews and I thought maybe a different barber would give me a decent haircut, but never again. Not only did they give me marginal cuts, but they completely ignored the sign up sheet. Probably should treat people better if you can't give a good haircut! Been to Jeff's a couple of times now and gotten a haircut by several different barbers, including Jeff himself. Every time I have had good conversation and a cut that I went home very happy with. They keep it nice and clean, wait times are minimal, there's plenty of parking (unlike other barber shops I've been to in the past), and it's an all around great experience. It's also nice to have to pay an outrageous price for a haircut. When Jeff is at the shop, he makes an effort to greet everyone that walks in the door. Lets talk about OLD SCHOOL! This is the best OLD SCHOOL Barbershop I have been to in a ling time. I am not the norm to go to a barbershop as they always seem just the get you in get you out kinda place. Jeff's TEAM is AWESOME! I get my haircut every week for the last 30+ years and I started here 2 weeks ago and I have to say I love the place. Its OLD SCHOOL conversations and just a relaxing place to be. The haircut I got here was top notch and totally worth the price. Service was fast and very friendly. My only qualm is that the manager/owner was trimming his nose hairs and facial hair in the shop in front of customers. I'm sure he wasn't breaking any rules, but there were plenty of people looking at him funny. That being said, I will be back to this place for my next cut. read more

Wildly unhappy. I have had two good experiences at Jeff's, both with Brooke so I do recommend her. However, I have had two bad experiences since that outweigh those. Both of these times, I stated that I wanted a slight trim/cleanup, barely noticeable - and both times I walked out with a pretty much different and way too short haircut. Fine it grows back, but the kicker that lead me to write this review is having lopsided eyebrows and a what feels like a fade on the sides. Without asking (I would've quickly said no) my barber began trimming my eyebrows, not something I wanted at all. One was already halfway done when I realized it so oh well...the best part is once I get home and look in the mirror, I come to see that they are noticeably asymmetrical. I couldn't be less happy. I even stopped in the middle of the haircut to check and my barber insisted she wasn't going to cut too much off. She was talking to others through the whole cut and never stopped to check progress, which would've helped a lot. read more

By the way Frank S., you are the one who sounds selfish and gruff sir and you need to educate yourself better before you give a bad review, using the word illegal is quite simply incorrect, as there are specific exceptions and the city and state mandates allow for these exceptions. Those exceptions fall on everyone, patrons and employees. And if I remember correctly, said barber has a sign on her mirror and she ask each person before giving anyone a hair cut if they have an issue with it. read more

Man, Jeff is just one of those people you want to know. He is funny, warm, kind. He chews the fat, tells a good joke, and gets you looking right. Note - this is a barber shop. If you require aluminum or cucumbers then hit the bricks. They do 2 things and 2 things really well - they use clippers to take hair off your head and they use a straight razor to shave your face. That's it. Viola. They don't dye it or frost it or offer you champagne. And when Jeff's done, he asks you if you like it and if you want to come back. When you say yes (and you will) he takes a pencil, opens up an appointment book, and writes your name down 2 or 3 weeks later at which point you come back and resume your conversation. Are you a dude that just wants a haircut? Go to Jeff .... But call ahead and make sure he's got his pencil handy. read more

A traditional barbers shop with conversation and banter rather than TVs and sports. Still make sure you look your best when you walk out with a straight razor trim to the back of the neck. Before I moved to Charleston, I had the same barber for over 10 years. I need a place I can be a regular, and where I can be friends with my barber and the people that work there. At Jeff's, I'm always greeted by name and my haircut is always great. Tony is my guy, but I know Jeff or any of the others could hook me up with a great cut too. You get a neck shave and the hot towel treatment, which is the closest most guys get to going to a spa, so that's nice. There are little kids, old timers, and everyone in between getting a good cut here. Prices are more than fair. The shop is a fun place, with a good atmosphere and tons of swag from local sports and from military branches. The wait is never too long, and every barber has appointment days if you can't wait. There's also a beer place next door if you need to wait longer! I have to drive 25 minutes each way to get my hair cut here, but it's still a no-brainer and always worth the drive. If you're a total primadonna or Yelp warrior, maybe listen to some of the whiners on here who give crappy reviews everywhere they go. If you are a normal person who wants a good haircut at a great place, get off the internet already and go to Jeff's Barbering. read more

I have been going to Jeff's for years now. If you are looking for an old school community barber shop, Jeff's is for you! Jeff is a funny and friendly West Virginia boy who moved to the Charleston Area and opened this shop. He is quick with a friendly greeting, a good story, and a funny story. The other barbers in the shop do a great job and the decor celebrates our veterans. The prices are reasonable and they accept cash only. There is an atm in the shop if you forget. I had moved to Mount Pleasant and needed a Barber. I looked on Yelp and found Jeff's Barbers. I drove over and Tony had an open chair. I usually am not happy with my 1st haircut and shave with a new person as I am particular. It takes a few trips to get a haircut I am happy with as we get used to each other. On my 1st visit Tony listen to me and I walked out very happy with my haircut and shave. This place is great. I went into Jeffs and had Russell cut my hair. He did a fantastic job. Probably the best haircut that ive had since I moved to south carolina. He paid attention to detail and actually listened when I said to take off a half inch of hair. Usually when I tell someone that they go straight in with the clippers. I had to wait a few minutes, but good things come to those who wait. Jeffs is a vintage shop with military decor and sports memorabilia. Oh, I almost forgot the best part! They straight razor around the ears and on the back of the neck, and finish it off with a hot towel. Next time I will try out an old fashioned shave. read more

Great old school barbershop in Mt Pleasant! All of the barbers were very friendly with great attitudes. Scott gave me a precision scissor cut followed by cleaning up my neck with a close straight-razor shave, and then he finished it all up with a nice hot towel. The haircut was great and (Big Bonus) NO itchy hairs down my collar! Each of the barbers take appointments on certain days and take walk-ins on the other days. The price is great: $15 (and a couple bucks cheaper if you are current or former military.) That's basically the same price as the Great Clips-type places but a much better cut and a much better experience - not to mention the fact that at Jeff's Barber you won't see different faces every other time walk in. I've definitely found my new permanent home for haircuts. read more

Jeffs Barbering is an amazingly special place. I grew up in an itsy bitsy small town. I feel like I've been teleported back when I walk in the doors. We are always remembered, treated kindly, and made to feel at home. Everyone is very nice and competent, but my son gets his hair cut by Scott. My son has some special needs and Scott is extremely patient, takes his time, and accommodating to our needs. When we leave my 6yr old says "Mommy, I like him." That is more important to me than the haircut itself. Which, by the way, is on point, and reasonably priced at ( prices as of this moment) $12 for my son & $15 for my husband. You just can't beat that especially with the service. This place is 5 star ALL THE WAY!!! I can not speak any more highly, they are the standard that everyone else should strive to reach. I HIGHLY recommend Jeffs Barbering. Hands down. You can try the rest, but Jeffs is the Best!! read more
