If you are unfortunate enough to have to see Dr. Marcus, rest assured that you are in good hands -- in more ways than one. He was highly recommended to me by my regular dermatologist when I found out I would need Moh's surgery. It's nice to find a doctor recommended by another doctor and mutually respected. But everyone I encountered in Dr. Marcus' office were equally as pleasant and professional.
My first encounter was for a consultation as I met Dr. Marcus and staff. They had the information from my dermatologist but confirmed everything. And they took photos. They also explained the procedure. And gave me pre-surgery instructions. At that time, I scheduled my surgery as soon as I could -- allowing for time to return for follow-ups before other obligations and Christmas vacation.
As the surgery itself could take some time, I had my husband drive me to the office and wait for me to be finished. They are very clear that the office is cool so to make sure you come dressed appropriately and that as this surgery can vary from 2 to 6 hours depending on your situation, you should bring reading materials or other things to occupy your time while waiting for the test results.
My surgery, as it turned out, didn't take as long as I thought, although it was a bit more complicated that we thought it would be.
I got full instructions for taking care of my surgical areas and another appointment to return about a week later. I'm now still in the "care" process and will go back for another final follow up.
In any case, so far, I'm quite pleased with both Dr. Marcus and his office. As I mentioned, all the nurses and technicians and even the receptionist are so personable and welcoming. The atmosphere adds to the confidence you will have in Dr. Marcus' ability to take care of you the best way possible. read more
