I moved to this area in late May and started searching for a really good dentist, plus one who doesn't charge "an arm and a leg". I was shocked at several offices I initially called, to find out how much they charge. To me, their prices border on greed.
I feel VERY grateful that during a recent hike in the Sierra I connected with a fellow participant. She alerted me to the stellar work she's received over the years from her long time family dentist, Dr Smith.
And happily I discovered that he is the opposite when it comes to money - having set up a financial in-house plan that greatly reduces your cost without sacrificing quality work. As a person he is also generous in giving back to the community. This year he took two months off to bicycle across the country with a group of 11 others, to raise money for MS.
There's a heartwarming story in the office next to a map showing the route they took and the difference money raised for this research has made in greatly advancing the treatment of MS. As a former RN, I really get it in being able to appreciate how much these patients have needed this type of break through. Finally, it's here!
I think one's character says a lot in how others are treated, and in this case his patients. That certainly was my experience today when I met him for my appointment and left feeling confident that I'd found my new dental home.
Kelly was my hygienist today and is absolutely fabulous. She really knows her stuff and says the rest of the staff are also quite competent. If any new hire doesn't measure up to this level of patient care, they are immediatley let go.
I traveled extensively over the past decade and can honestly can say this is one of the best dental offices I have ever been in. read more
