Dr Rezaian is the most caring, knowledgeable rheumatologist I have ever had, and I have met patients who were so impressed with him that even though they moved to the eastern shore, they drive back to use Dr Rezaian. His staff used to be slow to return calls, etc., but that has improved greatly the last couple years or so. Thank you, Dr Rezaian for your excellent care, I hope never to have to see anyone else

My prescription needs renewed and it's been 3 months and the doctor/office can't get the paperwork to our insurance company for the approval. I was referred to Shenandoah Oncology Associates after a routine CBC indicated I might have a blood…read moredisorder that needed a specialist's view. After a quick and seamless process to set up an appointment, I was seen by Michael McCusker, MD. After waiting for a very short time, my blood was taken (twice) and shortly thereafter I had a person-to-person session with Dr. McCusker. A young man in his thirties, Dr. McCusker took the time to have a clear dialogue with me, explaining the concerns from the CBC, and discussing concisely the potentialities of what might be going on with my blood. He stressed to keep both feet on the ground by saying "let's find out exactly what's going with you" before going any further. Dr. McCusker expressed empathy, but also emphasized that while we needed a solid diagnosis there wasn't an imminent emergency, which really put me at ease. I saw Dr. McCusker again for a second and final appointment recently to go over the results of an extensive CT scan and more blood work. Turns out, there's an anomaly with my blood cells (RBCs), a somewhat unusual condition that thankfully doesn't require further treatment. I've been very happy with the way SOA treated me overall from checking in, to the phlebotomy (nice folks) and the efficiency in scheduling further tests (the CT specifically). Dr. McCusker is without any doubt (one of?) the best physician I could have seen for my issue here in Winchester. I liked his personal approach, his ability to explain a complicated issue to a lay person like me, and his obvious ability to sympathize with this patient - and to my wife who accompanied me and was taking notes. She does that. I would recommend SOA and Dr. McCusker to anyone without reservation. I'm very appreciative of his professionalism and his caring attitude. Five Stars!

He and his staff have always been professional and treated me accordingly. I disagree with Larry K.'s review; perhaps he had a bad day. Any doctor's office or medical center one visits, there will always be a wait, even if the staff gives you an appointment. Too many folks leave negative reviews in anger when they're simply not justified. Some years ago, I went to an optometrist who was lousy. As an older patient, she was treating my husband's eyes so I thought I'd do the same. Big mistake. Based on an eye exam she gave me, she concluded that I had cataracts/early stages of glaucoma and needed potential eye surgery. She also charged me $400 for the eyeglasses I now wear. Ridiculous. I then realized that not only was I overcharged but was out of network. I switched to Dr. Singh at The Medical Eye Center. He's more thorough than an optometrist and much more professional. I'm very comfortable with Dr. Singh as my "eye doctor" and appreciate his professionalism and that reflected of his staff. ~

I don't understand why they tried to make you wait that long when you have an appointment. Its not like they are running into an emergency because they will not make an appointment for anybody who has a problem. If you have a problem, you have to go to urgent care. There are other good eye doctors in Charles Town and we do not have to put up with this rudeness.

Today I sent in a refill request through MyChart as I sit in an urgent care waiting room where I am paying a $40 copay to get 3 pills to get me through my work trip this week as I am having side effects of not taking it for 3 days now. This is the second time within the past year I have encountered a non-response or over 1 week delay in refilling my medication (I only take 1). Due to the delay in care, the non-response, and poor communication- I am changing PCPs after 5 years with them as there has been a trending decline in their care.
