I went to Dr. Moxley to get one wisdom tooth removed, it ended up where he was only able to remove half of it for some odd reason. I am sickened to the core with a numb face numb Lips, numb gums every single day, twenty four hours a day. When I did tell him about this, he told me, I could go get surgery in one of my legs and they can take a vein out and yeah, put it in my mouth or something like that. But then I might have two problems going on. Come on, how hard could it be to remove one wisdom tooth instead of only half of it? Dr. Moxley must hire new staff - simply put. **Read out of pocket costs below.** His staff does not verify insurance ahead of time, does not provide upfront costs prior to your visit (to ensure you have the funds), they misrepresent costs at the end of the visit (state you don't have to pay for your file or copies of your file, then once you leave tell you that you have to pay). His staff does not follow through with what they say they're going to do, nor do they get your medical records to you in a timely fashion. Dr. Moxley staffs his office with five individuals in the front - there's no excuse as to why his office is not functional nor efficient. An effective, patient centered facility or office explains the costs upfront prior to your visit. Why would a patient drive to an office, if they simply cannot afford the services out of pocket? It is a priority to communicate with patients and provide the costs associated. I drove to his office, took off work, brought an entire file to find out after I was already brought back and sitting in a chair - that my dental insurance was maxed out. Additionally, I paid: $175 for a Cone Beam CT (3D X-ray) $90 for a consult (15 minutes) $25 for a copy of the X-ray on a CD = $290 out of pocket *This was a second opinion visit. (.67 cents per page for your medical records) Averaged to $150 per hour - 1 hour wait, 1 hour total visit/Xrays/consult I was told it wouldn't cost for my records. I asked for my records day of, they stated they couldn't due to surgeries. I understood and was in agreeance they would get me the records by end of week. I never received my records, had to call, placed on hold, then told I must pay .67 cents per page for my records. The audacity of this office staff. Dr. Moxley needs to let go of two individuals, save himself money and hire himself a qualified office manager to ensure he can retain patients. read more

Mid Seventies. I have an inherent fear of dentists and anything metallic in my mouth. Bad experience as a young kid but generally good experiences with dental professionals in overseas locations, France, Hong Kong, China and Japan where I worked. Generally bad experiences here in US except for my treasured hygienist Donna X who I trust totally. Recently a dentist advised me that I had some deep cavities and rather than crown/cap/implant I opted for extraction and was referred to Dr Moxley. Filled in the mountain of patient info and arrived at 07.30 filled with trepidation. Front office staff, welcoming and efficient and was shortly face to face with Dr Moxley. Explained my fears and phobias. He recommended a no frills ( no bone grafts, no sutures) pair of extractions upper left and upper right. He proposed that he could have it done within 30 minutes so I agreed. CARPE DIEM. A generous amount of topical as I had requested followed by two very non painful injections, a little wait time, and we were ready to extract. As he worked he talked me through the process and to let him know if I was uncomfortable. I was never uncomfortable. No pain, no sweating, no shaking of my hands. All went very well. After some exit post op instructions, I left the surgery with a small piece of gauze in each root void which I removed as sonn as I was in the car. After a good mouth rinse (some red stuff) lunch with some soft food and a good red wine and I was back to normal. Today, my tongue is exploring the voids but that's about it. For any of you dentist fearing people I can only recommend Dr Moxley. As far as cost is concerned my copay was in line with what Delta Dental had approved that morning after a call by one of the staff. No hard sell for extras. Going to chomp on more solid food now. From making the appointment, to their billing department and prep before my extraction...they were so mindful of my anxiety and stress. Dr. Moxley could not have been more kind. Got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Moxley yesterday. The process went super smoothly and he explained everything so well before we started that I felt more relaxed going in. I was asleep the whole time but I believe he was super gentle because no joke even after I the pain medication that they used for the surgery wore off I did not feel any pain. I maybe just have a high per pain tolerance but even now on the next day, I didn't need to use any of the pain medication I was prescribed because I'm not feeling any pain at all. I didn't ice my face as soon as I got home but other than that I don't have any swelling that's going on. read more

After a bad experience at a dentists office I had been going to for almost 20 yrs I was referred by an ENT to Dr. Moxley's office for an extraction. To say my anxiety was extreme was a gross understatement. Dr. Moxely and the Moxley Crew were amazing. Everything was explained to me in detail. I chose to be sedated for the extraction because of my previous experience. They began prepping me close to 8 am and by 8:30 I was on my way home. I saw Dr. Moxley and his staff to get all of my wisdom teeth removed. They got me in right away (within the next few days from when I called), and were all so friendly and professional. It was my first time going under anesthesia and felt pretty nervous, but everyone's positive and calm demeanors made me feel much more relaxed. This is yet another RACIST and DISCRIMINATORY dental practice. But what makes them more sinister is they pretend to be neutral or aloof, when you describe the other horrible dental practices you've come across in Las Vegas... but they're one of the worst. I was made to provide my own x rays, which I did. Sat down the the dentist and explained what I wanted, he pretended to be on board. But the preauthorization he sent to my insurance, revealed that this crazy person thought he was going to extract any tooth he felt needed treatment. He didn't request any of the bone grafting or anything discussed during the meeting. He added teeth we never discussed and really thought I was gonna pay for him to mutilate me. Then while I was waiting the month before they even sent the preauthorization, I needed medication for the teeth I needed pulled. Let me know why I sent an email and told them verbally Walgreens. They sent it to CVS. The second prescription which happened to be on Juneteenth since the first didn't work, was sent to the CVS on MLK, after I specifically told them a different location. I know it's could be interpreted as an honest mistake for some, but if you are a person who has ever experienced racial discrimination and harassment, this is the kind of micro aggressions these individuals do. Subtle and sinister. I really pray that this and other dental offices are shut down because it's disgusting to bring racism and hate into the medical field I'm sure it goes against some kind of professional oath. But unfortunately because there is no oversight these people began to think they are God and can pick and choose who deserves proper dental care, which is sad and disturbing. I was referred to Dr. Jeff Moxley from my dentist. My lower wisdom teeth were impacted and in need of extraction. Upon my visit the office staff were very nice and helped me with my patient intake. I had my consultation with Dr. Moxley and we reviewed my x-rays in detail. He recommended I do all four wisdom teeth since it was going to be asleep for the procedure. One of my lower wisdom teeth was really close to my facial nerve so it was important I not move during the extraction. I came in later for the procedure and it went smooth with no issues. I was very nervous due to this being my first time with general anesthesia. Dr. Moxley walked me through everything that was going on up until the count down of me falling asleep. I woke up with a mouth full of gauze and it was all done just like that. They gave me an aftercare sheet which was very helpful and answered a lot of questions I would have had. Best part about this whole process was Dr. Jeff Moxley gave his cell phone number just incase I had any questions or concerns after the surgery. Late evening day of the surgery he even called personally to follow up and make sure I was doing okay. The fact that he personally made the call and not an assistant was really impressive to me. It was nice to know he really cares about his patients. Later that week texted him a couple questions I had and he responded very quickly. A week after the surgery I went in for a post-op visit check. Everything looked good and there were no issues. Thank you so much Dr. Moxley and staff. On a side note, I have a really hard time believing the low star reviews that are on this page. They couldn't be further off from my experience. I will say that I did have to wait a bit for my appointments and I wasn't seen exactly at my scheduled times, but seriously? Who goes to the doctor and expects to be seen exactly at their appointment time. Seems a bit extra to me. Also, rude staff? Not a chance. The staff was very nice and professional to me every visit. First time patient being there, I was a little nervous. After a few minutes of consultation and explaining what will be done, he told me that it should OK, and no problems. He administered the numbing shot to my jaw and tooth (2) of them, and waited a few minutes to take affect and came back, told me to relax and wala, both tooth were out with no issues. It was pleasant feeling that my two bad tooth is finally removed. He did an exceptional job in doing so. Informing me as to what is going on while removing tooth. I went in for consultations on my jaw surgery. Dr Moxley said that I would need my lower jaw set back. He said to get braces, and the office staff recommended that I change my insurance plan. I did and came back in a few months for another consultation, during which he said they would start the process of getting preauthorization from my insurance. They did not file the complete information and did not tell me why not or when they would continue the paperwork. I called them several times to get an update on when they would do this, and they would not give a straight answer. I went to another doctor who said that if I had just got my lower jaw set back, I would have had issues with my windpipe, and that I actually needed my upper jaw moved forward. I spent money on consultations, time off of work for appointments, and switched to more expensive insurance just to be ignored when calling the office, and to find out that he suggested a harmful surgery to me. I would never recommend this doctor. Please see someone else, do not waste your time and risk getting an improper diagnosis and potential surgical nightmare. read more

Worst dentist office I've ever been to. Arlen was the rudest office secretary I've ever spoke to. Jeff Moxely, I thought was nice at first (I was sent to him for a Work injury workers Comp claim) First and only visit was fast and Jeff seemed nice when I met him but after showing me the X-ray, Jeff did not offer any suggestions and did not want to go any further with my teeth unless he knew for sure my workers comp (WC) was going to cover, so I had to wait until he got a response from my WC. (FYI my WC accepted my claim so it was not about the money) For a month The office was Impossible to get ahold of (because I was in contact with my WC and my WC needed more information from them and could not reach them either. This was over a month of calling almost everyday) Arlen finally picked up the phone for me and I began explaining what my WC had just asked me to do...to give her some information and Arlen REFUSED to take the information requested by my WC. She completely ignored me while I was trying to explain what my WC needed from them, in the middle of me talking she put me on hold. I couldn't believe it. She got back on the line and told me to contact my WC. I tried explaining that I've already spoken to them and my next step was to call the office and relay info but she cut me off told me she didn't need anything from and put me back on HOLD while was talking ...wouldn't let me get a word out. I was polite the whole time and did not yell or say anything to deserve this treatment. I called back and asked for her name because I've never seen such unprofessionalism. Now I'm writing my first ever yelp review cuz I was treated with no worth as a client. They NEVER did what they were supposed to do. They lied to me. They flaked on me and my workers comp. The staff is condescending. Jeff Moxley thinks he is God and to top it off we had to wait over 45 mins to see him and my mom is a senior well over 80 years-old with a Walker and she was starting to get nervous. I did have a disagreement with the staff. I had a migraine and did not want to wear the face mask they gave me as it had a very bad smell to it and a sticky film to it. Had they let us known that we needed a mask when we called to book the appointment, we would have brought ours from home. My mom has one that works well for her hearing aids. Then, instead of the staff just letting it go they continued to act like little school girls and provoke me to continue arguing with them. Then I heard one say she is just going to tell the doctor. I am sure he is a good dentist, however, my mom was referred there and he wasn't on her insurance, but she still decided to go because she didn't want to wait any longer she is embarrassed without her partial. We knew the consultation fee was a $175.00 (which is extreme, but afterall, he is God, right?!?!). Then after he lectured me about arguing with his staff (again something to provoke me even more and make my mom more nervous), he then addressed the fact that I was upset we waited a long time. He said he takes his time with patients and doesn't care about the patients in the waiting room until they get in the exam room. I thought that to be a rude statement as I work in healthcare and you should always care about your patient whether they are on the phone, in the waiting room, or in the exam room. I guess the exam room is one step closer to his payment then that poor person sitting in the waiting room. After his "high school lecture" he then decided to pay attention to my mom (remember, she is the actual patient). He looked in her mouth and then decided she needed an x-ray. This took all of 3 minutes. His lecture to me took longer. But, remember, he is God! His tech came back in and said that was going to be $150.00. I asked if it had to be paid up front or can she have a payment plan she is a senior on a fixed income. She said there is no payment plan. This office does not take dental insurance or her medical insurance, no upfront costs were explained. Very little effective communication, but a whole lot of sarcastic communication including from the doctor. We did not proceed with his services, probably best all around. read more

Horrible customer/patient service admin staff review. We were not the only patients being told they needed to have brought X-rays or would need additional X-rays the day of the appointment. Seems like they are not in tune with the patients needs. In this day and age the patients are trying to stay within what insurance covers. Long story short 1. The girls at the desk are more in tune with eating their breakfast vs greeting patients, no greeting was given. 2. Dr Moxley's office did not coordinate well with the dentist to insure X-rays were sent over prior to my daughters bust and we asked them what she needed to bring with her the day of her appointment. We had to drive over to pick up films the day of the appointment yet after getting back they were not the pano X-rays that they needed. So we drove over from Moxley to the dentist back to the Moxley for no reason. Poor communication between dentist office and oral surgeon. We asked what my daughter needed for her appointment they said they had everything. We arrive to the appointment and the oral surgeon needed the films. We drove to get films, when we got back to oral surgeon the dentist didn't take films of what they needed, they had to take new films anyways. So in a nut shell her appointment was late, we were sent to pick up X-rays from the dentist that didn't even greet us when we walked in (they were too busy eating at the counter), only to return to the oral surgeon dr Moxley for them to tell us the dentist didn't take what they needed, and now a pano needs to be done by this time it is 10:45. My daughters appointment was at 10am. This could have been avoided by better communication between the Dentist and the oral surgeon office on behalf of a mutual client/customer/patient. Also the level of customer service behavior is below average and not sure if this is the standard in the health industry but eating in front of customers, not greeting them, having personal conversations should be avoided or kept at a lower tone so the clients do not over hear them. More focus on preparing the admin side of the appointments would provide a better experience and referral from you patients. I will be calling my insurance to also provide feedback. read more

I was referred to this dentist for an emergency extraction as my tooth had an infection. Luckily they were able to squeeze me in the same day that I was told my tooth was infected. The staff was super nice and I thought I was going to have a good experience since the dentist office I was at that referred me to them called and let them know it was an emergency & I needed to be seen. I meet Dr. Jeff, he barely shook my hand took a quick look at my mouth told me what we needed to do and I said yes because my tooth is infected and needed to be extracted. He goes to numb my mouth and I made an uncomfortable noise and the first thing he said was "I'm not going to do this if you do that. I don't do well with people yelling in my ear and if you can't stop then you're going to need to come in a different day and I'm going to have to put you under." I told him I was sorry and I'll try not to but as my tooth is infected I need it out. He had the audacity to tell me I better "do and not try" luckily the rest of the numbing wasn't painful and I told him he pinched me the first time and the rest was okay. He leaves to let me start getting numb, it was okay but right when he comes back in my tooth is throbbing with pain, which I let him know so he numbed me up again and immediately following tries to yank my tooth out and I did a little bit louder of a discomfort yell and I said it was too much pressure, all he had to say was "What did I tell you about yelling?" I told him to finish it up and kept my discomfort to a minimum as again MY TOOTH WAS INFECTED AND NEEDED TO BE EXTRACTED. As soon as he was done I told him the other bit of him yanking wasn't bad it was just both times when he first touched me is what hurt. He literally just looked at me and said "Well, bye." I don't recommend him at all, I'm happy my tooth is out but I didn't need to be treated this way by a pompous jerk. I'm being sure to let the dentist that referred me to him know about this so he stops sending his patients there. read more

I. Hate. Surgery. Let's start with that. I needed all 4 wisdom teeth removed, 2 of them were impacted. Dr Moxley came in, explained the situation (although I didn't wanna hear it) very thoroughly and ultimately calmed me down. Next thing I know, I'm in a chair and then I can't feel my face while I'm waking up. The process was professional and seamless. I wish I could say it wasn't painful, but that would be false. Let me start by saying this visit was for my elderly mother who's been losing her cognitive abilities over the last several years. So sometimes things have to be said more than once at times for her to put it together or at times she isn't able to put it together at all. She has always been a nice and decent person and never a foul mood. So Mom had a dental issue where I tried to get an emergency appointment anywhere in town with a dental practitioner that advertises 24/7 & Emergency app. available to have a tooth pulled that was infecting her jaw and causing pain and difficulty eating. Well it was Not possible to get an app. anywhere (can u believe that?) and only told by several to go to the hospital emergency room ?! Mom doesn't have insurance and we tried to avoid that added cost if at all possible. Mom was able to hold out only because of the homeopathic methods (hydrogen-peroxide w/ the water pic & oregano oil taken orally). When she finally got in to the appointment which the Dr.'s office cancelled once already (unbelievable) a week earlier, Dr. Moxley was RUDE and bitingly sarcastic when my mom asked a few questions directly relating to her dental issues. This ASSHOLE who's supposed to be a professional and treat people with a modicum of respect apparently falls Extremely Short in his Social Etiquette to his patients ! With this pandemic I was Not allowed to go in with her which Mom wanted cause she was a little scared.
