I ordered a Milwaukee tool and was told because that I would need to send a picture of both sides of my credit card and drivers license because my billing address and shipping address were different. I wasn't even having it shipped, I was picking it up and they could've checked my identification then. I've bought a few tools there before, but never again. I decided to contact this company again to make another purchase. I like supporting small Canadian businesses and thought it would be appreciated here. Jean Claude-Cayer offers a price match guarantee, and I asked them if they would price match an offer from Home Depot for a tool kit. An employee said yes and gave a code with expiry date to use against the purchase, but when I asked if the shipping & handling was also matched against Home Depot, I got an email back saying, 'You are free to make the purchase elsewhere. The code for the price match has been cancelled and deleted.' They cancelled and deleted their offer for price-matching before its expiry date, did so as reprisal for myself asking a question, and effectively ended further communication. I've read some reviews of Jean Claude-Cayer on Google since then and customers who've faced a poor attitude was mentioned several times in those reviews. From this experience, some people at JCC do seem to have a poor attitude and it will cost them business, as it did here. It appears that asking a question may be interpreted as a personal affront/insult, and correcting that perspective is a good place to start turning their customer service experience around. read more

I have now waited for 3 months for my online order and when i ask the staff for an update there emails are rude and not helpful in the least. i am told i cannot cancel the order...but also that they don't have an ETA. the waiting game continues and i will NEVER shop with them again. worst customer service read more

Terrible and rude customer service. Purchased over $1,000 worth of product. One item stopped working within 4 weeks. No problem, it will be a warranty claim directly with the manufacturer. However, as I needed a replacement asap, I was willing to repurchase the same item. Upon asking the manager if I could get the item sent with free expedited shipping, manager hung up. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I have been waiting for a tool that I ordered online for almost 2 months! At this writing, I have still not received it. When I talked to the customer service rep, they told me that they had no idea when it was coming, and that the company (Dewalt) was not sending them any updates at all. I asked whether they would be willing to offer any compensation for the long wait, they said no, because it was not their fault. When I tried to cancel my order, they said that I could not, because that can only be done after 3-4 months!!! Apparently it says so in their policies. I ordered two tools from JC Cayer although I could get the same price on Amazon but I thought it would be nice to support a Canadian company. It says on the order that it would ship in 10 - 15 business days and although I didn't like this I went with it anyway. They took the money immediately but still haven't shipped 5 weeks later and there was no notification from them about any delay. I sent them an email asking them to cancel my purchase since it hadn't shipped yet but they refused. I had to get Visa to cancel the order for me. I confirm that "10-15 business day delivery" is a misrepresentation, to say the least. No sign of life after 20 business days. And when you talk to "Customer Service", you get a very rude and inconsiderate reception. It looks like they don't know what customer service is about. I was led to believe that one of the owners is setting the tone to the place. Bought from them 3 times already and spent over $1000 with them, but this time will be the last. Lots of good online hardware vendors in Canada with service-oriented people such as Mississauga Hardware, Busy Bee Tools, etc.., that you don't need the headache of dealing with these people. On top of that, JC Cayer is an Ontario outfit and they charge Quebec sales taxes for shipments to Quebec (Quebec is not part of the HST system). I needed a pump for a Crafsman pressure washer. The employee told me at first that they had no part for such an item. Then I mentionned the pump brand and oh! they had stock.... I received the part rapidly. However, it was in the reverse position of the original item. When I called back to see if they had the right part, I was responded that I got the part that I ordered. Finally, I did install the pump in the reverse position, and it works fine. I was glad to have found my part at JCC. I tried before thru Amozon and they had to reimburse me because I never received the part! read more

Bought a woman's Milwaukee heated jacket. Sizing is not accurate......44 is large? No she needed a xl but according to jccayer they will not refund. I wanted to exchange for the xl but they will not do that either. But no were in thier policy does its state the will not exchange. What kind of Internet sales these days not accept exchanges?? My fault for not asking prior to buying but really! Not only this but when I phoned customer service to find out about an exchange the guy said " well when I buy a pair of jeans I try them on first"..........I said that fine but you offer Internet sales with free shipping and you live in Ontario and I'm in BC. They don't tell you it isn't in Stock, provide no time line or explanation as to when it will be available, and respond rudely when questioned about it. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! I made 2 very large purchases from them in the the last year totaling $700. The first was a Bosch nailer which worked fine until it jack-knifed off a roof. So I ordered another, here are the facts: - The gun came in an unmarked box with nothing in it but the gun. The previous one came in a proper Bosch manufacturer's box with goggles and other supplies that Bosch includes in the package. Also noted that the gun itself was labelled with a price tag? - When I went to use the gun, I oiled it up and it didn't work and made loud hissing noises. - Contacted customer service/sales team and told them my problem and also suggested that I was sent a floor model (which I was not informed of) - First the sales team insisted that UPS opened their package and repackaged it before delivery. - Then they suggested that maybe it was a display model but got offended because they assumed that I was accusing them of intentionally sending a gun they knew did not work. - Then I was told "Do not ship it back, and a refund will not be issued and all emails are ignored from here on" - I eventually got in contact with someone reasonable from customer service and sent the gun back. - They informed me that their service department looked at the gun and it was working perfectly fine, all it needed was oil (please refer to my comments above. I have been a roofer for over a decade, I know that I need to oil my roofing gun. That clearly wasn't the problem) - Upon visiting the website that very day, it was noted that the product was no longer available for sale. (further supporting the fact that they sent me a display model when they ran out of product) - Because I knew that there was a problem with this gun and they wanted to send back what was essentially a refurbished gun (something I did not pay FULL PRICE for), I asked for a refund at which time I was told that I would not be refunded my original shipping cost. Here are my conclusions: - The sales team is extremely arrogant and rude. They do not admit to any wrongdoing even though it is clear in this case that the customer is right. They were given numerous opportunities to right their mistake and instead chose to be unethical and unreasonable. - They sent a display model without the permission of the customer, and it did not work. Thus, my shipping cost should have been refunded because they did not ship me what I ordered in the first place - A NEW NAIL GUN in working condition. - If in fact UPS had opened this box, it still isn't the customer's problem, JCC is the one with a service agreement with UPS. Since they suggested that this was common practice, they should pursue legal action since theft is a pretty serious crime especially if it was occurring on a regular (I highly doubt this is the case) - The service team must have had to open up the gun to figure out what was wrong. Why would you do that? If in fact it was a brand new gun, would't you just return it to Bosch and let it be their problem? Their prices are in fact quite reasonable which is why I purchased from them in the first place but it is not worth the stress and hassle if anything, and I mean anything was to go wrong. With a $330 purchase, I cannot afford to buy from a company that has shipped me a broken gun and wont even admit to it. I have dealt with JC Cayer twice but will likely never again do so and I too wish that negative or non existent star ratings could be given. My first order from them was in December of 2015 for a couple of Milwaukee batteries. Being super careful to look into all the details of when it would arrive, I actually called and asked about it. They said it would arrive by Jan 5th 2016. Unfortunately it arrived about 2 weeks later than I had hoped. No explanation was given as to why or a formal apology letter to smooth things over. Fast forward to November 2016 when I found they were "In-Stock" of a particular Milwaukee drill set (and for a very decent price). I placed an order for 2 sets on Nov 2nd 2016. Their indication via e-mail said they would package the item in 10-15 business days (which I found frankly odd but it was too good of a deal and no one else had them). I patiently waited for the order to be shipped out. On December 2nd 2016, I sent out an e-mail reply to the initial order e-mail to voice my concerns on the delays. It was by that point over 20 business days I had waited to get any confirmation my order had shipped. I asked them to return the money to me unless the item had shipped already. I must commend them for at least getting it out the door as fast as they did. I received a waybill by end of the day and my package was on my door this morning (only 3 days after my e-mail was sent). However, it still gets worse from there. Upon opening the package from JC Cayer, I noticed one drill kit and a receipt indicating that 2 drill kits had been sent. Very disappointing to say the least but not unexpected. I took photos of the shipping label (indicating a 1 of 1 shipment and weight of 0.95 kg which is the weight of one drill kit), the sales receipt indicating 2 items and the drill kit itself. To say the least, this place is a disaster to order from and clearly these people are in over their heads (at least from the online ordering perspective). It causes me grave concern to think that a company can be in business with such poor practices and not communicating to their customers. I have a fleeting suspicion that this is an issue that affects non-Quebecois fluent French speaking folks. J'ai patiemment attendu que l'ordre soit expédié. Le 2 décembre 2016, j'ai envoyé une réponse par e-mail à l'e-mail de commande initiale pour exprimer mes inquiétudes sur les retards. C'était à ce point plus de 20 jours ouvrables que j'avais attendu pour obtenir une confirmation de ma commande avait expédié. Je leur ai demandé de me rendre l'argent à moins que l'article n'ait déjà été expédié. Je dois les féliciter pour au moins le faire sortir de la porte aussi vite qu'ils l'ont fait. J'ai reçu une lettre de transport à la fin de la journée et mon colis était sur ma porte ce matin (seulement 3 jours après mon e-mail a été envoyé). Cependant, il s'aggrave encore de là. En ouvrant le paquet de JC Cayer, j'ai remarqué un kit de forage et un reçu indiquant que 2 trousses de forage avaient été envoyées. Très décevant pour dire le moins, mais pas inattendu. J'ai pris des photos de l'étiquette d'expédition (indiquant un 1 de 1 expédition et un poids de 0,95 kg qui est le poids d'un kit de forage), le reçu de vente indiquant 2 articles et le kit de forage lui-même. Il m'inquiète sérieusement de penser qu'une entreprise peut être en affaires avec de telles pratiques pauvres et ne pas communiquer à leurs clients. Ordered Batteries for my Dewalt 20v and an Oscillating tool parts pack on line with JC Cayer on May 23 . Decent price. Decent web site. Nothing arrived by Jun 15 so I called to inquire. Rep said the oscillating blade pack was back ordered and they were waiting for its arrival and would ship all together....I asked if the batteries could be shipped now as I need them for my work....rep said OK......it,s now June 23 and no batteries. Called to inquire, rep said batteries have not shipped but would ship next week. Judging by the reviews I have read JC Cayer has some work to do . Would not likely revisit a future purchase here. Amazon here I come. My advice to Mr Cayer.......your scaring your customers away with these mistakes, they are very simple to fix...suggest you sit down with your staff and hammer out a solution. read more

There should be a zero star option for reviews. All items that I ordered were said to be in stock and would ship within 24 hours, after two weeks I emailed and eventually they got back to me saying that I ordered special order items. They proceeded to tell me that it would take another 10 to 15 days for them to come in. I would have cancelled this order had they not taking my money day one. At least payment shouldn't have been taken until my items shipped, as other companies do. After another two weeks I emailed them and it took a few days for them to email me back saying that they're just waiting on a couple of items and to expect them within a couple of weeks. I didn't receive my order until after more than six weeks. I wish I would've read reviews on here before purchasing from them. This will be a lesson learned for me and I will be sure to never make a purchase from this company again nor will anyone I know or talk to you. Extremely disappointed. read more

These people are literally insane. I ordered a kit that the listing said came with a specific item. When I get the kit is doesn't have the item in it. I contacted their support and they tell me the listing does not say that item comes in the kit. I give them the screen shot I took of the listing saying the item is included in the kit. They send me a message back telling me that the listing does not say it comes with said item. I read the listing again and low and behold it makes no mention of said item. They actually changed their listing to be in their favour and implied that I was a liar. I took another screen shot, sent it to them and told them they changed their listing. They just sent a message back and said that the listing did not say said item was in the kit and made no admission of changing the listing. I called them out specifically and said for them to admit they changed the listing and that if they did admit it I would drop the whole thing. They didn't even respond. A few days later I get an email from their sales department to get 10% off the next order to write a review. Well here it is. Hope you like it. read more

I purchased it waiting to receive my item but got an email from Paypal that they cancelled my order without providing any explanation! However they did fully refund me but wasted a whole week of my time. Most items are listed as the lowest price on their website but they can't deliver, I have a feeling they do this just to generate traffic to their website. I also bought a Bosch laser from them and it's been almost 10 days and haven't got any shipping notification from them. I'm ready for another surprise email that they cancelled this order too!
