I got junk. You got junk…read more Just bring other people's junks here. This company pays for these metal junks. I was so excited to see Southwest Metal Recycling is right in my reach. It's conveniently located next to Southwest Freeway 59/69 feeder road. I have to drive from Bissonnet to make a turn at Honeywell near Chevron gas station. Right turn on Ronda Lane. This facility is on the left. The rule is simple. Bring the metal junk on a truck or SUV, not sedan or anything pretty. The pavement is really rough inside. Lots a puddles and dips. Your pretty cars will get muddy in no time. Drive to the check in station and get the vehicle weighed. Then, go drop off the junk at the pile as directed by the employee. Finally, drive back to weighing station to complete the transaction. Woohoo. I got paid $4.20 for bringing some junk that my contractor wanted throw out.

Whenever I have junk metal, I like to stop by Tri Star to recycle the metals and get PAID for it…read more Tri Star will take any metal including broken appliances. They also take non-working batteries, copper wires, and other recyclable material. Are you getting any great ideas yet? If you have a truck, haul the junk metal to this place and sell it! I always find broken appliances like refrigerators, washing machine, oven.....etc. around dumpsters. Tri Star always try to honor competitor prices on recyclable metals. This place is a recycling center so it is not the most appealing place. They are friendly people, though.

Their slogan is "Let's be honest," however I think they are everything but…read more I took an assortment of metals today to sell to them, i.e. cans, cast aluminum, brass, miscellaneous wires, and iron. They weighed the cans and they weighed the iron, however they DID NOT weigh the wires, the cast aluminum OR the brass. How did they KNOW how much of those I took in? BY SIGHT!!! WHAT!?!? Immediately I was skeptical when he handed me a payment for my metals I truly felt was low, so I asked for a receipt (since they did not give me one). The ONLY metals on the receipt i was paid for were the cans, the cast aluminum and the iron. My guess is since I had quite a few pounds of each, but not much of the others. When I questioned him about the wires, he said, "You don't have much of those. You're looking at maybe a dollar. I can give you another dollar if you'd like." I told him nevermind as i didnt want to make a scene. But if he was willing to give me a dollar for the wires, why wasn't I paid it initially??? Please believe me when I say this is not about the dollar. This is about honesty which they claim to have. An honest business would have had every item I took in on the receipt. An honest business would have weighed out, individually, every type of metal I took in. They did neither of these my friends. And I'm still wondering how much I should have received for my brass too. In summary, I have absolutely NO TRUST in this business, and I WILL NEVER take my metals to them again. It makes me wonder how many honest people selling their metals to this business have been shorted money they most certainly deserved. Honest people who, more than likely, were selling metals to make ends meet in their lives. Bad form, Tri Star . . . BAD FORM!!!

They do a beautiful job on my husband's shirts and pants, but I took a dress of mine to be dry…read morecleaned which had been dry cleaned at my old dry cleaners several times before. It came back very faded. I mentioned it to the receptionist and she said she would tell the owner to check the machine. No offer of compensation cleaning. (They have a sign that states they are not responsible for fading.) The main lady that waits on me never smiles and has poor customer service training. She often speak so low I have to ask her to repeat herself. She is very helpful at the drive thru and never seems to mind, which is a plus. Sometimes I think the prices are a little high on some things, but they do a good job on most things, if you don't mind the sour disposition of the receptionist, I would recommend giving them a try. My husband's shirts have never been pressed and hung so beautifully.

1/5 -- Very Disappointing First Experience…read more Unfortunately, my first experience with Elite Dry Cleaners on Kingsland Blvd was extremely disappointing. I dropped off several items on Friday and was told they would be ready for pickup Monday. When I picked them up, I immediately noticed that there were still stains on every item. Some of the clothes even still had visible food stains on them. For a professional dry-cleaning service, I expected much better results. Honestly, it looked like my clothes had simply been washed and hung to dry rather than professionally cleaned. To make matters worse, some of my clothes came back shrunk. The customer service made the experience even worse. The employee had a bad attitude when I brought up my concerns, and the owner's attitude was even worse. Instead of trying to make things right or showing concern about the condition of my clothes, I felt like my concerns were treated as an inconvenience. All in all, this was a terrible first experience. I brought my clothes here expecting professional cleaning and good customer service, and unfortunately I received neither. Based on my experience, I would recommend trying another dry cleaner in the area.
