I'm so glad I didn't listen to my husband and just to buy the tube. My 13 year old daughters bike kept getting flats. I found out the reason why. Took the rim to jc's and they will evaluate weather it needs a new tire from dry rot or needs a tube etc. well they replaced just the tube and the missing strip that goes around rim so the tube doesn't get cut again. Ha! Thank you jc's for explaining why my new tubes kept bustings. Easy drop off and got a phone call the next day to pick up. read more

I came in looking for a specific SE bike but was told it would take a long time, so I ended up buying a different model instead. Later, I went to another shop and they had the exact SE bike I wanted available within two weeks. Their service was also more attentive, with clearer communication and even discounts. Both bikes were over $1,100, but the difference in experience was night and day. I regret not waiting and would likely choose the other shop in the future." read more

If you're in the market for a bike, then JC's Bikes & Boards in Deland is worth the trip. Having been to many of the bicycle shops in Orlando who were out of stock on stuff (due to pandemic and people actually getting out and moving, me included), we were shocked that they actually had a decent selection. Chris helped us out and found us two bikes to try out after asking us a few questions. He let us ride up the sidewalk to the bus area (if you go, you'll know) so you can really check out how the bike feels. I took 2 rides just to be sure and after searching online and in stores, decided to bite the bullet and purchase. They gave us a 5% discount for buying 2 bikes which was nice. After purchasing, they give you 10% off Accessories so we got some bottle holders and they mounted for us while they tuned up the bikes. Chris also helped us load the bikes into the SUV and got a big piece of cardboard to put in between. They also said to stop back for a tune up in 30/60/90 days as the cables stretch and the bike gets settled. Great shop, great prices, great job listening to what we were looking for, and great prices. We already went for 2 rides and they're a great upgrade from our $99 Walmart Bikes (which did the job for a while). Thanks a ton to Chris and this fabulous bike shop. read more

Just picked up a bike I bought on Offer Up. The wheels were out of true so bad that I had to disconnect the front brake. Definitely too dangerous to use on a daily basis. I didn't recognize the bike when I walked in because they fixed everything and cleaned up the bike as well. I was surprised when I got a call that the bike was ready the same day I dropped it off. I highly recommend J C's Bikes & Boards for their thoroughness, their response time and their honesty. read more

Went in to look for a new bike while visiting the area for a couple of weeks. We looked for a bike my wife. Jeremy was very helpful and knowledgeable and after some profiling steered her to a hybrid that she liked right away. Went home to think about it and came back the next day to pick up "her bike." Went back a few times to swap parts to improve the fit, and the friendliness and helpfulness of ths staff never diminished. Great people, great bikes & accessories- highly recommended! read more

JC's is a truly core bike shop which is focused on BMX--a very rare thing these days with most BMX kiddies ordering from far-off vendors online. There are advantages to ordering some things online but for BMX I'd rather stick to a local, physical, shop when possible. JC's provides that exact shop for BMX but also carries road and mountain bikes, plus skateboards. Their real strength is BMX though and their selection by brands like Subrosa, Shadow Conspiracy, Animal, We The People, and more displays their dedication to our sport. As BMX has evolved into a sport where customization is more and more essential to many riders, JC's carries a lot of custom parts plus an ample selection of complete bikes. They've told me also that whenever possible they'll price-match with online retailers, which greatly curtails any appeal of ordering online, frankly. I really respect and like this store and their involvement and dedication to BMX. DeLand has a growing and very impressive BMX scene and JC's is a lot of the reason why. read more

Not our first visit -we have been here enough to know this is definitely the place to go if you are interested in not getting ripped off. On this day we had an issue with the chain tensioner, we dropped it off once told it would take a few hours and cost about $70 for the kit and installed. We received a phone call later that day that it was finished so we went to pick it up and was surprised to find it cost only $30. Once they began the repair they realized we didn't need the entire kit so instead of charging for something that wasn't needed they adjusted the price, super great honest guys- highly recommend read more

In the market for a bike and heard good things about JCs Bikes. Spoke to the sales person name Ryan, he must have been haveing a bad day. Mr. Ryan was very Kurt and did not answer the questions, he keep saying the bike is a tool. While answering the questions, he keep using technical term and when told him that I am not understanding, he did not even try to explain. He keep saying the bike was a took. One questions that was asked was which bike would be better for a person that was getting back into riding after twenty years. Mr Ryan said it does not matter all the bikes are the same. The shop was great and had lots of nice bikes read more

I came down from Atlanta for Challenge Daytona Triathlon and had a last-minute, unexpected mechanical issue with my bike which would have prevented my participation. It was late Saturday evening, shops closing, and my race was 7am Sunday morning. Ryan of JC's not only knew and had the part I needed but he also arranged for my picking it up after hours. Thanks to him and his associate I got the repair and made the race. I mean, honestly, how often do you see that kind of service and consideration? 5+ Stars - Rare excellence in service and commitment. read more

This shop is so awesome! I came to Florida to ride a hybrid with my husband for a week and forgot my shoes. They helped me find great shoes at a terrific price and they put cleats on them for me and had me set in less than 45 minutes. I had some work done a month or so ago by the guys here at JC's. The did a tune up, re-cable, new chain and headset and a new set of bars on old Trek that I own. The price was very reasonable and they did an excellent job. This 25++ year old bike now rides like new. This place came highly rated by several friends of mine and I see why. I look forward to doing more business with JC's in the near future. read more

My wife and I are triathletes and endurance riders, we have been to many outstanding bike shops throughout central Florida and I can truly say that JCs is one of the best bike shops we have ever done business with. JC's Bikes & Boards - Bikes Near Me - Deland, Florida

Called to see how busy they were and ask about repair pricing: $45 standard tune-up $18 for front and rear derailleurs + hangar adjustment. Couldn't afford tune-up, so said I'd like the $18 dollar package. Carlos said they're not busy, but I would have to leave it either way. I drop off the bike and re-establish who I am, and my interest in getting my mostly put together bike-in-a-box into riding mode. I fiddled with the gears, got the low set...but got messed up setting the high. I need the front derailleur looked at but the rear may need some adjusting. "No worries! We'll take care of it and call you when it's ready," says Carlos. Next day, phone call. You're bike is ready to be picked up. It's going to be $50, $52 and some change with tax. "WHAT??" "I can't afford that! I only needed the derailleurs and was looking at the $18 package. How did it come to $50?" I exclaim. Carlos explains,"Well we did the tune-up and you messed up one of the wires, which is $4." Me: "I only needed the gears set...and the $18 package was what I was planning for...I know I kinked the wire from tightening the bolt, did it really need to be replaced?" Carlos: "I'm not going to argue over the price, so I can bring it down to $24." Picking up the bike: Carlos: That will be $29. Me: What? No you said it was $24. Carlos: Look at the website. It's $12 for each derailleur. Me: I know. It's $18 dollars for both plus the hangar adjustment. Carlos: Well, you're getting a tune-up for less than what we normally charge. I pay the $29 because I'm not getting into it when I've borrowed my dad's truck with no A/C and it's already close to 11:30am (roast your ass off in Florida weather time). Me: So, you did a full tune-up...did you mess with my brakes? Because I had them exactly where I wanted them. Carlos: Go ahead and check them out. Me: (squeezing the right brake and it's almost touching the handle bar) Yeah...this needs to be fixed. They fix it. Older gentleman says, "You know how in most stores you squeeze the brake and it comes close to the handle bar? We'll, that's because it alleviates the stress on the joints in the knuckles in your hand." I reply, "Yeah, that's why I made them so I only need to squeeze a little bit to get them to stop. That reduces stress in the joints. I don't ride with my hand hanging over the brake like you're gesturing to me." Good to know I have a 30 day window to get anything else fixed that they may have screwed up. Issue here--No phone call to assess my bike. Changed a cable that didn't need to be replaced, without consulting me first. Changing the price for their personal gain. No respect for women. The customer before me, upon picking up my bike, was given much more information and courtesy than I had...who was also a first time customer that happened to be a man. I should have gone to the place where my dad got his bike checked...Old Time Cyclery in Lake Mary, FL off of Country Club Road. Planning on having them look at the bike to determine if they in fact, did do a tune-up. read more

The homies at Jc's put the friendly back into community, seriously if I was from the area I would frequent this shop. These guys are willing to do everything in their power to get you back on the road. I drove 30mins down from Daytona (after visiting some other shops with horrible customer service). I would drive well out of my way to kick it with JC and get my cycle worked on again. Thanks again JC keep killing the game and good luck with the new little one! read more

JCs is a First Class Bike Shop. Very professional and friendly. From a "Newbie" like myself to someone who has been riding for years, they cater to everyone. I got back into cycling about a year ago to try and get back in shape and healthy. I started my journey with a $99.00 off the shelf bike and fell in love with riding all over again. After a few months I realized I needed a better bike, so here starts my venture at JC's. I walked into the shop totally clueless. I walked around for a few minutes, JC must have noticed I was lost and asked if I needed any help. I told him I wanted to get a bike. When he asked what type of bike all I could think of saying was one with 2 wheels lol (newbie in me). After we had a good laugh JC started asking me questions I never thought of, what kind, type of riding, for recreation or sport and much more. We talked for about an hour and I was on the fence deciding on a Hybrid or Road Bike. Then JC said something I never expected and something I will always respect him for...he told me to go home and think about it for a few days. At that moment I knew I found the right shop. I was a blank check and he was more interested in me getting the bike I wanted rather than putting my check in his pocket. So I took a few days and decided on a Road Bike. So on my next visit I met Ryan. What a great guy. That poor guy must have spent half the day answering all my newbie questions and explaining all my options. I finally decided on a Cannondale. Ive been riding it for around 5 months now and I couldn't be happier with the decision. From the first day I walked into the shop I felt like Ive known those guys forever. Even now, they are always there to help with advice, still answering my newbie questions to a hand on my back, pushing me back to the front group when I start falling behind on our shop rides. Not only did I get a GREAT bike at JC's I feel that I made some GREAT friends as well. read more

Consistently offering unmatched customer service and supporting 3 local group rides every week, JC's Bike Shop is an pillar of the Central Florida bicycle community. This shop is family friendly (even wife approved!) and will help you find exactly the items you need without pressure or bias. Shopping on the internet not only hurts the family owned businesses of our community but it also denies you the opportunity to experience professional service, experience and expertise. Do yourself a favor, visit the shop, ask a few questions and experience it for yourself. We have to all help to support local businesses and promote the great ones...like this one. Thanks in advance read more

This is one outstanding shop. From the service and eagerness to help and educate, to the fantastic selection, you're in for a treat when you visit. I always feel at home when I shop there. Went into the store to find out if they use their vehicle I saw in front to pick up and deliver bikes for repair. My vehicle is not suitable for a rack. The answer was yes, for a fee which is fine, if I could be patient with them. It took two days for them to call and tell me when they could pick up the bike. On the day of pickup they were a no show and no call. Remember they could have said no to this whole deal and some other arrangement would have been made. Apparently they have enough business dealing with Stetson kids and BMX people without the customer service worry. I WILL make other arrangements and it won't include this place. An edit: Finally got a voice message about four hours after pickup time while I was out trying to salvage the rest of my day. Too little too late! read more

This is a good store to pickup parts but not to browse. I always feel rushed out the minute I walk in. This seems more like a bicycle club than an actual store. This is a good store in a pinch if you need a spare tube or tire - too bad really because it looks like they have a pretty good inventory. Customer service is good but rushed as I stated before. Save your major purchases for other stores or online shopping and this store for convenience of quick parts pickups. read more

JC's is my new favorite bike shop!
