So I was making an appointment at Contesta Rock Hair and since they don't do guy's hair cuts, they recommended that my BF go to JC's shop for a trim. We walked right over! This shop primarily speaks Spanish. So my BF barber didn't speak English and another barber had to translate what type of a cut he wanted. I think that is awesome to have so many cultures in one place! The guy did an AMAZING job with his hair. It took about an hour, but they really took time making it a masterpiece. I have been cutting my BF hair for the last 14 months so this was a real treat to have it professionally done. He felt (his words) "Fresh" afterwards and had an extra pep in his step with pride. It brought his mood and confidence up which also brought mine up! I really enjoyed how neighborly this shop was. I think it is AWESOME that they allowed dogs to come in! Don't ever stop this! The turn over was so fast and each person came in for something completely different than the next. I enjoyed watching all the various styles of hair and beard trims they had. My barber of the last 30 years went on vacation abroad and I found myself in need of a haircut for an important event. I walked into JC's Barbershop without an appointment and was cordially received. Sadly, that's where the good experience ended: I was given the worst haircut ever in 55 years (no exaggeration)... LOL. I have abundant hair, easy to cut, and I am an easy customer, to boot. But this has been a disaster: with uneven hair, strands of hair sticking out here and there, all of the trims misaligned and asymmetrical. Beware of the youngest of the barbers working there, although I didn't quite catch his name... He should not be cutting anyone's hair! I was considering wearing a hat for the next two weeks but gave it up because it's so darn hot in Miami Beach... LOL, oh well, it will grow back, I guess. read more

These guys who work there are weird. I came to get haircut. 1 man was working and 3 others Jude stirring and doing nothing. They take me wait. I was waiting for 5-7 minutes. Then I asked. How long does it take, he called Tito, Tito said maybe one hour maybe 2.. during not being busy., guy told me come back. I was like when? He says I don't know. I was liken, can I make appointment? So i got a haircut here today on a last minute Saturday cut cuz I didn't have time to drive to my usual barber and i was driving in South beach and saw this shop so I decided to stop and get a cut. Thus far, this was the WORST haircut I've ever gotten in Miami. I literally wanted to cry cuz it's Saturday and i was expecting to look fly but the opposite happened. I showed a very clear picture to the barber on what i wanted and he didn't pay attention at all, i clearly said medium skin fade and he gave me a high uneven fade, i also stated dont touch the top and he cut the top and now i have to wait several weeks to grow the top, and to make matters worse, i showed a picture of how i wanted my beard to look like and he paid zero attention and did the very opposite so in the end i showed him the picture again and so he tried to fix it but it still sucked and uneven; furthermore he didn't even line up my mustache which is really bizarre and stupid. Miami is a barber mecca and almost everyone here are talented but this barber just didn't know what he was doing. My heart is literally broken cuz he he failed in 3 major aspect of the haircut, he failed on my beard, he cut the top of my hair when i told him not to and he gave me a really high uneven fade when i said medium fade. Still at the end of the haircut i gave him a good tip cuz i'm a high tipping client but this barbershop surely lost my business forever and i get haicuts religiously every week. He didn't deserve no tip but i have a rule of generosity in life. Now i just have to wait for this hair to grow and hopefully another barber will fix it as weeks goes by. I followed them from both previous Amici locations and now to JCs barbershop and for good reason. Every time I walk in I am greeted by the whole staff like I'm family from Cuba. These guys here are hospitable and true craftsman whom take here jobs very seriously. I like to make my appointments over the phone because they are very busy but don't worry they do accept walk-ins. Every time I come in for a cut my barber, Angel, pays meticulous attention to detail and he makes sure I enjoy my haircut before I leave . He takes about 30-40 quality minutes perfecting his craft. I'm visiting from LA. I was terrified allowing someone else than my L.A barber touch my hair. All I wanted was haircut. After waiting for two other barbershops closer to my condo to open, no one answering their phones, giving me attitude, I gave up traveled further and came to JC's. I was pleasantly surprised! The young chap in the third chair cut my hair and even though I was a little concerned that my Spanish is not the greatest. He understood me and gave me a great cut! Best barber I have ever been to! I was visiting from out of town and needed a cut, walked right in and was helped within minutes. I explained to the guy I wanted to grow the top out and keep the sides short, which I never have done, and he knew right away what to do. He was really nice and professional. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and just RUDE. I made an appointment for 6:00pm and arrived at 5:50pm. The barber, Danny was running late with another client in his chair and didn't get to me until 6:35pm. Best barbershop in South Beach, would give 10 stars if I could. Great prices and great service. The employees here all are super attentive and nice, they even provide you with their personal cellphone number to contact them. They are open everyday and the wait time if you just walk in is not long. Henry is the best, you can contact him at any time and you can set up your appointment easily.
