NEW PHONE NUMBER 415 920 1730…read more Thursday and Sunday nights have been added back!!! Quickies are the new form of early birds... three games for three dollars and payouts are determined by how many people are participating at bingo... There's plenty of side games. They have flash games ( buddy balls, bulldog bingo, etc). They have dab games/BAM ( grand slam, cowabunga, fire dog, 4 corners, blazing, speedo, money train, etc). Some nights have those 50 cent cherry pull tabs. And there's specials (4-5-6, 7 line, army slam and grand slam)!!!!

The cashier guy gave us a double sided piece of paper with information, but who wants to read all of that, when you want to just jump in and play. Then, a lady behind us in line, named Pam (who everyone seemed to know), told us to sit by her and she helped us, and became our bingo guru. Pam even called the Chinese restaurant next door to order some food for us that was delivered complete with plates, utensils, and napkins! The other players were older, wiser, faster, and luckier than us (maybe because of their lucky charms and wacky compulsions). It wasn't packed, loud, or tense. I would highly recommend this bingo hall. Good prizes, reasonable buy-ins, free parking, and very entertaining environment.

We are a close nit parish. Many of the people that go here have been going for years and some have been going since they were kids, or babies like I have. So, you may actually find people here that you have known in grade school if you live around here. You will also find people that you will greet you, especially the priest that will greet you at the end of mass. We have a choir usually on Sundays since mostly everyone goes then. However, we have the children sing on Christmas for the Children's Christmas mass after they put on their play. We make improvements every day with many active volunteers from the parish that cleans, puts up flowers, and sets up. They donate their time and money to help out the church, which doesn't go unnoticed or rewarded by the church. We also have many different groups in the parish that volunteers their time to help with events that is put on such as: bingo, crab feed, dinner auction, and the casino trip.

0 STARS DUE TO THE RUDEST BARTENDING STAFF IN SF…read more It's always a great time partying at El Rio -- the energy, music, and vibe are unmatched. Unfortunately, my most recent experience at the bar left a sour taste. My friend ordered two mixed drinks and was served in plastic cups with no ice. When I asked a different bartender for just a scoop of ice and explained that my friend hadn't received any, the response from his co-worker -- loud enough for us to hear -- was, "NO TIP, NO ICE." The other bartender simply shrugged and apologized before moving on without offering any ice. As someone who has worked in the service industry and bartended for 5 years, I understand bar etiquette, customer flow, and the tipping culture. Tipping is appreciated, but it's never guaranteed -- and it should never determine whether a customer receives a properly made drink. Serving a room-temperature cocktail without ice out of spite is unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly spiteful. To be clear: tips are a bonus, not a requirement -- they're not taxes. Respect, quality service, and basic hospitality should be the standard, not something customers have to earn. I hope management takes this seriously. A place as legendary as El Rio deserves bartenders who contribute to the good vibes, not tear them down.

As a group of seven queer people arriving together, the comment immediately made us feel unsafe and unwelcome. I tried to speak with them privately about how the comment made us feel, and their response was simply "sleep well." It was dismissive and honestly the most unwelcome I've ever felt in a space that's supposed to be openly queer and inclusive. I will never go here again.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm friends with the folks who put on this event, which you can…read morefind out particulars about more on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/blackmarketsf) than their actual website. Now, anyone who's ever been to a night market in Taiwan, or anywhere else, will likely understand when I say that Black Market is meant to be a fancier, more upscale, boutique night market. For those who can't relate, or can't picture that, it's essentially an (indoor) space for local arts, crafts, and fashion vendors to sell their merchandise; local music talent to showcase their skills; and local food vendors to sate palates. Adding to the likes of the Urban Air Market and Renegade Crafts Fair, Black Market, in its newborn phase is the smaller, more intimate, and, dare I say, more hip sibling of them all, not having a singular focus like Urban Air Market with fashion and jewelry, or Renegade, with crafts. Instead, expect a variety of vendors that purvey anything from handmade soaps, candles, scented oils, to local fashion designers with their custom apparel, all the while having live music pumping in the background, and food vendors lining the sides. In fact, there's another Halloween-themed one going on right now (10/26), at their current Folsom Street Foundry home. If you're not busy, make sure to RSVP, and go check it out!

Maybe it was my lack of research or what seemed like would be a big/grand event, I left disappointed and felt that I needed to apologize for taking my friends here since we were done with it in literally 15 minutes or less. First off, it was advertised that this was free depending on when you got there OR $5 (which I expected to pay since we arrived an hour and a half after it started). We ended up paying $24 for the 3 of us... How did it go up to $8??? We walked in and there's a photobooth area and coat check, then you walk into a room full of vendors. It was smaller than I expected but at least the vibe was cool (music playing and projectors displaying videos on the wall). There's a mix of jewelry, art, food and clothing but maybe 1-2 of each max. As mentioned earlier, we were done walking through pretty fast and at least we took advantage of the photobooth.

The seating is comfortable, with a home-like feel--cozy couches that make it easy to settle in and enjoy the film. That said, there were a few drawbacks. The popcorn wasn't great, which is always a bit disappointing for a movie night. The wait staff also came across as rude, which took away from the overall vibe. Another surprise was that they only accept cash and don't offer tap-to-pay options, which feels outdated, especially for Oakland. It was interesting that the lobby was busy and lively, yet the actual screening only had about four people in it. The space clearly leans into a community-focused, multi-use model, and they host other events that could be fun depending on what you're looking for. It feels very Oakland--community-driven and a bit unconventional. Overall, it's a decent spot with potential, but not somewhere I'd rush back to just for a movie.
