In my opinion, there was/is NO excuse for this. Bottom Line was recommended to me by a friend, and I am SO glad that I made the change. My records were rather complicated and jumbled: I organize others, no one organizes me, but in less than 2 hours, my returns had been electronically filed. Diane was terrific, easy to talk to, and the charge to me by Bottom Line was 50% less than what I had been charged by H&R Block. Easy parking, informal office: I have found my new service for tax prep.

The Dirty Secrets of State Farm Claims Department. STATE…read moreFARM WILL NOT OFFER YOU A FAIR SETTLEMENT! This is my experience. We have our cars and home insurance with State Farm. We paid every month $333. There was never a problem. Until - one day on the freeway there was a tire/debris and I had to drive over it in order not to hit the other cars and get into a bigger accident. Unfortunately, this accident broke my undercarriage and the airbag lights went on in my Prius. This would have been a comprehensive claim. Simple and easy. But State Farm made this claim very frustrating and stalled it for 4 weeks. I have never experienced so much incompetence and dirty practice with any insurance company than with STATE FARM! So I called and filed a claim. The claims department wanted to give me an "at fault" accident and they counted it as a collusion instead of a comprehensive claim. I didn't hit the tire on the freeway. The tire hit me. I had to call back and restate what had happened. Luckily they re-word it. Javier ( my agent) told me I could go to any body shop I wanted to get my car fixed. I chose the Toyota dealership. I called and asked if State Farm would cover the $291 diagnostic fee at Toyota. Javier called Claims and Claims said yes. So we got the estimate from Toyota for $3100. Turns out my left axle is leaking. My front bumper is damaged, my middle and front undercarriage and the airbag lights are on. I submitted the estimate to the State Farm app. They told me that an adjuster had to come out to look at the damage. A week later the adjuster came out and quoted the damages at $361. I called the claims department again asking what was going on. How can the Claims adjuster overwrite an estimate from a body shop that spent 5 hours looking at my car, while the adjusted was there just for 5 minutes, and quote it for $361? State Farm assigns a "team " of adjusters to my claim to "minor" this accident. And all these adjusters have been trained to pay the little as possible. From there on State Farm was working against me instead "FOR" me. I submitted additional supplements via the Toyota dealership. And for 3 weeks this claim was stalled by State Farm. When I called Toyota they told me that they were waiting on State Farm. When I called State Farm they said they were waiting for Toyota. Also they tried to say that the damages were pre-existed! Another Adjuster had to go out to Toyota because they wanted additional photos while my car was on the lift. State Farm gave me a rental car for 3 weeks $40 per day at the beginning of this claim. After 3 weeks I had to return the rental but my car wasn't fixed at ALL! State Farm purposely stalled this claim to make us as frustrated and stressed as possible to make clients desperate. They are aware that victims are much more likely to accept a lowball offer when victims are desperate and just want to move on with their lives. They prey on people's hardships. Now that I had to return the rental I asked if they could extend the rental for an additional week. I talked to claims adjuster Michaela Brooks and she extended it for an additional week. Yet the rental car company didn't get that memo and started charging my card. Turns out they have extended it but "OUT OF POCKET" terms. When I called back Claims they said, it wasn't extended. So, basically, they were lying again. Everything was very confusing and stressful. That means they are not going to pay the additional week of the rental. This is what I call bait and switch. At this point I was so frustrated that I wanted my car back that I agreed to go to a "STATE FARM APPROVED BODY SHOP" because I was desperate, yet by law, you can choose any body shop of your choice. Which is not true at all. Finally, after 4 weeks my car got repaired, after lots of calls, heartache, and frustration. State Farm approved the body shop that quoted them $1600 for all the repairs minus our deductible. But They didn't pay the $291 Diagnostic fee (as promised by Toyota) and the 2 days of the rental car ($90) that I had to pay out of my own pocket. State Farm will NOT TREAT you Fairly and give you the settlement or the body shop of your choice, or what you need. Javier is aware of everything and he didn't fight for us. He said he has no power against the Claims Department. He explained to me that the Claims department is like a judge making the decisions and he has an agent is only a representative of the client. Javier told me that I was very lucky that my car had been repaired after all. State Farm still owes me $381. Also after the claim State Farm sent me a letter and changed the "Not at Fault" claim to "50% at fault" !!!!!!! SHAKE MY HEAD We have terminated State Farm and are happy we don't need to deal with State Farm's evil lying practices EVER AGAIN. They are fast to take your money but slow to help you once a claim arises. Don't sign up with them. Not recommended.

I was contacted fairly quickly by Marlene who took down more information and asked me to send in my current coverages so that they could work on a quote for the same lines. I submitted the requested doc the next day on Tuesday which she confirmed receipt of. .... and then crickets. From my experience with insurance, most agency are eager to get your business and follow up pretty quickly. By Friday, I hadn't received a response to my inquiry and emailed Marlene only to receive an automatic getting stating that she's out of the office until Tuesday. I have no issues with the out-of-office, however, I do have issues with the lack of communication as I sit and wait for a much needed quote. A simple message on Tuesday -- maybe something along the lines of "Hi, I received your doc and we will be working on your quote. I will be out of the office until next Tuesday and will contact you when I return," -- when my doc was received would have went a long ways. Instead, here we are a week a half later, and still no response from this office. If this is the type of service that is provided by this office for just a quote I can only imagine what the the service would be in a time of peril.
