Dr. Alia is very meticulous and experienced. I took my daughter to see Dr. Alia for a 2nd opinion and unrelated to that visit, she asked me when my daughter had her last dental cleaning. It was about 1.5 weeks ago. Dr. Alia said to my daughter, I'm sorry, honey, I have to clean your teeth. I realized that her previous dentist did not properly clean her teeth. I was very thankful that she couldn't let my daughter leave the chair until her teeth were properly cleaned. She does an amazing job every time I see her for my 6 month check up. She also did my Invisalign. Funny, how many years of braces and wearing retainers every night would come to this, but it was my old Orthodontist who created a new retainer for me that created the issue. Long story short, I have Dr. Alia to thank for my straight teeth (again). Sarah, her assistant is very knowledgable and is amazing as she is. This office is very personable and you can tell that they love what they do. She's not running a franchise or have multiple dentist work for her. What you get, is her - all of her. As a plus, I love her pink gloves! Did I mention she won best Dentist of Wilmette on NextDoor...

Yes, it's expensive, but you know what - I want to keep my teeth for LIFE, so they get the best care. And bonus - there were two adorable dogs in the office when I popped in yesterday.

Without going into the medical history that led to my nephew's life in constant pain, his nearly 20 surgeries, and his inability to continue to work as a firefighter- after only a year on the job of his dreams, he was now faced with serious and life threatening dental problems resulting from the potent drugs administered throughout his teens. There would need to be fillings, crowns, and numerous extractions. There would need to be hours of work performed on a patient in a compromised state of health, and it would be extremely costly. His doctors at the University of Chicago suggested he apply to Dental Lifeline, a network of compassionate and humane dentists and laboratories that volunteer to treat people with permanent disabilities who lack the income to pay for the urgent dental care they desperately need. After waiting and hoping for a response, our prayers were answered. Dr. Friedstat volunteered to help us and give Rob a real chance to smile- and eat normally again. The moment we stepped in that office, Joy welcomed us with genuine warmth and concern. She made Rob extremely comfortable and let us know we were in good hands. The first moments are so critical when you enter a doctor's office; we were immediately comforted and put at ease. We never felt like we were a burden, in fact, the staff seemed so motivated to help correct the problems that we were immediately filled with a great sense of relief and HOPE! Dr. Friedstat not only thoroughly examined and analyzed Rob's dental problems, but he spoke at length about the many health complications brought on by his years of battling Crohn's disease. He was interested in the treatments and the pain management issues Rob endured, and though this was part of his diligent work as a professional, he discussed things with the heart of a father. He is so intelligent and so confident that it inspired both Rob and I, and we felt lucky to have him as our dentist. It has been several months of appointments- some lasting 2 hours or more- and Dr. Friedstat was even able to save some of the teeth that other dentists warned would require extraction. His gums are healed and his last crown fitted, and he has been measured for partial dentures. All this work was done without complication, without pain, and by the hands of a skilled and experienced doctor. Finally, I write this to anyone looking for a dentist that they can trust to do expert, thorough, and incredibly skilled work- without fear or pain. I boldly and confidently recommend Dr. Friedstat, who not only offers those essential qualities, but with a huge and generous heart, he also offered a lifeline to someone in need. Linda Johnson

Walking to pick up lunch one day, I passed Sodini dental on Oakton, and knowing that I needed to get back to the dentist and looked up their reviews to see if this would be a good place to maybe try and become a new patient. I slid down a slippery slope through Covid and since, after moving away from my previous dentist and some extensive and ongoing health issues impacted my life. I called and was able to make an appointment for a couple months out - I was pleasantly surprised that they were taking new patients and that I didn't have to wait that long in the scheme of dr's offices for a new patient appointment. They do send text reminders as well which I appreciated. Doré at the front provided my new patient paperwork and checked me in. She was nice and efficient. Therese was my hygienist and I am so grateful and lucky that she got my appointment. I was transparent and disclosed it had been almost 7 years since my last dental appointment. I had been diagnosed with several conditions that are ongoing that have impacted my entire life tremendously, and paired with Covid and moving, time passed so quickly until we were here. Therese was patient and kind and made me feel incredibly heard. I know many people (myself included) who have anxiety build as time passes fearing judgment from dentists when we finally do make it in, and I need to stress so clearly here that Therese was so understanding, empathetic, and validating, especially with consideration to my ongoing health struggles. I was immediately so relieved and relaxed to continue with the visit AND ongoing dental care. We did a whole slew of x-rays since it had been so long since my last, and we also decided periodontal scalings were appropriate for cleaning my teeth and getting me back on track as well. Therese was communicative and gentle throughout the entire appointment and stressed my comfort over and over. We did split the scalings into two appointments, and I came back a week later for the second half of the cleaning. They made sure to book me with Therese at my request. I cannot articulate clearly enough how much the staff here made sure I was comfortable through my appointments. Unheard of in my previous dental office experiences. Dr. Sam saw me for my exam and she is incredibly kind, my experience with her was also very positive. I'm so grateful to have accidentally found an office with so much empathy and kindness in addition to professionalism, efficient administrative staff, and a very clean office. I know Sodini Dental has been a part of the community for a long time, and I selfishly hope they continue to be so. My insurance is out of network with the office, and I knew this going in to my appointment, and agreed to out of network costs. Out of network costs are generally not cheap, this was no exception, however billing and payment were both easy and transparent. We set up my next appointments for this year before I left from my second visit, and I was able to pay my balance without issue. Thank you Sodini Dental for a great and easy experience!
