The level of unprofessionalism and outright lack of respect for people's time and money this office has is simply unbelievable. I received a letter from the state of Florida months after I had filed my taxes claiming that I had filed 5 months late and now owed $250. Knowing I never filed them late, I immediately called JBC's office. For TWO whole months, everyone from the manager (Moe) to the owner (Javier) ignored my calls and requests for answers. Every time I called I was given the same excuses and told I would receive a call back that never came. When I was finally able to get in contact with the owner, he claimed that he would help appeal the payment and that "everyone was receiving that letter". He had me email the letter and said he would take care of it for me. This turned out to be a HUGE lie. After months of my emails asking for updates being ignored and calls not being returned, I reached out again to Javier asking for all the appeal details he had ,including the email he had sent to the Florida office so I can reach out myself. He never responded. After almost three months of waiting for help, I got a final notice from the state of Florida. I reached out to the Florida department of Revenue myself to explain to them the situation. It turns out that although I filed my taxes in March, JBC tax services didn't send them till SEPTEMBER. Meaning the employees and management at this office knew that they had made an error, refused to tell me and outright lied about the whole situation. To make matters worse, the employee at the state revenue office also informed that the tax office NEVER even reached out to them and NEVER filed an appeal on my behalf. This office clearly has no care in the world for their customers. I don't know how they could still be in business with the way they clearly mismanage people's taxes. This establishment lacks the consideration of their customers' timeline. I set up an appointment at 12 p.m. two weeks ago to see Guillermo for tax filing. I could see him from a distance talking with co-workers and oblivious to the clients waiting. So I asked the receptionist to let him know that I was there (on time 11:58 a.m.), but he refused and said he is with someone. Five minutes later I asked for any available tax agent, shortly after another customer walks in and asks to see Guillermo (the same agent I was scheduled for 20 minutes ago) because she just needs signatures. Guess what? They marched her to the back for such signatures. At this point it's 12:40p.m. so I asked for my documents and left. Last year a similar scenario occurred, lasting an hour past my scheduled appointment. People of Miami, we have hundreds of options for services. If businesses do not respect our timeline, then why do we deal with them? JBC Taxes is not considerate of my time and does not deserve my business. I've been a customer here for a few years here already; but I've noticed lately service especially, customer service has gotten horrible; I call and I preferred speaking English; cause that's my first language, but the lady answering doesn't speak a lick of English? I think you guys need a bilingual person answering phones; so I say English? She says Spanish only? Puts me on hold; then super unprofessionally hangs me up. WTH? The worst customer service i have experienced in a while. I spoke to their representative Moe, Everything seemed fine, he asked me to email my information to him, I was then told he would call me back when he was doing my taxes. It has been more than 3 weeks never heard back from him. I called several times to his direct number and whenever they would transfer me to his extension i would get voice mail. I spoke to the receptionist, I also spoke to whom i was told was the owner. everyone there wasted my time. No excuse was given. I would highly recommend just going to anyone else or filing yourself. Complete scam artists. I had been going here for years seeing Guillermo (Moe), who is actually very unprofessional and pompous, but I never had issues with my taxes so I continued to go to him. I started getting penalty charges against my small business for filing late even though I went way before the deadline. Turns out he didn't actually file my small business taxes until 6 months later! I called him and he said he would take care of it and send in the form to dispute it. I never heard anything back for a while and kept getting letters and calls from collections. I called JBC to speak with Moe to follow up and all of a sudden he no longer works there and he never sent in the form needed to dispute my charges. Supposedly, now it is being taken care of, but I'm still waiting to hear from the IRS. Then I did some research and come to find out Moe has done this to people before AND I also found an article from March 2023 about complaints and a suit against Javier and JBC Tax Services for fraud. Absolutely unreliable, unprofessional and complete scam. I was also supposed to hear back from the owner, Javier, and he never called me back. I used to recommend this place to everyone. Horrible experience. Made an appointment for 9:15Am on a Friday. As I was told it's the earliest they have. I arrived at 9:05. Was told to fill out paperwork and wait. Wait 15.....30.....45....60.....minutes and was told when I asked I was next. The tax guy finished and I was expecting to be next and grabbed someone else's file and handled them. So I say you told me I'm next and they say oh no she came in before you, UH NO I saw her come in and she did not come in before me. I finished my paper work when she came in and started hers. I had an appointment and waited 1 hour and 15 minutes before I demanded my paper work back. Will NEVER go back. Poor customer service. This place is not professionally accredited. They are not CPAs or enrolled agents with the IRS. They are just another fly-by-night tax preparer in Miami. For example, their "tax preparers" have no official titles. There is not a single person's name listed on their website for accountability purposes. Nor does their website list any education, training, or other credentials that would put anyone's mind at ease. This is because they are NOT professionally accredited & are doing business by the seat of their pants. Please use accredited professionals when seeking out tax preparers. It's that time of year again. For most it is a happy time, since they will be getting a return. And who doesn't love a little extra cash in their pockets, especially after the holidays. JBC Tax Services is very responsible and reliable. They are open during the week as well as weekends during tax season. They do accept walk ins, if they aren't completely booked and you don't mind waiting. However, booking an appointment is best and highly recommended. Sometimes even with an appointment yo will still have to wait a few minutes, but I think this is widely understood by everyone that filing your taxes is not going to be an in and out situation. All considering you never what issues the people before you might have had to handle with their taxes, that has then caused a delay in the following appointments. I always come to JBC and I always, always do my taxes with Guillermo, better known as Moe. He is very helpful and tells you very directly what you can and cannot do and effectively handles whatever issues or concerns you might have. He always treats each client as if it were himself, he is kind and personable and is always available to speak to if you should have a question after you are done filing and leave the office. It's hard to find a good place that does all they can to help you, all while keeping it legit and you feel comfortable and trust who is handling your taxes. My first year doing taxes and it was phenomenal. I went to one tax guy who didn't speak good English and took three weeks to get my paperwork. I ended up leaving him. I went to another tax person at H&R Block and they told me false info saying I could claim as dependent under my boyfriend (boyfriend...NOT husband) which you cannot do and said my taxes would cost me hundreds I went to JBC and waited about an hour and half but it was SO worth it. Roger answered all my questions in perfect english..I expected to pay hundreds in taxes but I ended paying nothing! He managed to get me money back! He was professional, apologetic about the wait time, funny, and knows what he's doing. Horrible experience our appointment was at 9:40am waited 3 hours customers have been complaining in next cubicle and accountant accused client of of being disrespectful when client was just complaining about wait. If someone has an appointment they should be seen at their appointment there were a lot of walk-in's and people were just showing up and being taken back. Accountants here take people back that I guess call them personally aNd they just walk-in and are seen before people that call ahead of time and make appointments like normal people do.
